May need to update your BIOS!!!!
Slight possibility of needing a BIOS update if building a new PC, or even upgrading RAM. Out of the box, when I installed this kit, I had no power, and a RED VRAM light. This had worried me that it arrived dead on arrival. Luckily, I had another older kit of DDR5 RAM sitting around, and I was able to try to troubleshoot my issue, and all I needed was a BIOS update for it to work. Kit works great, and I am now running at the full 6000 m/t. So, just letting those know who might run into the same issue.

Fantastic Memory, But the Current Market Is Brutal :(

I’ve been running this G.SKILL Flare X5 DDR5 RAM in my build for a while now. I picked it up back in 2023 for just $87. Honestly, it has worked absolutely flawlessly. It’s been stable, fast, and exactly what I needed for my setup, and I’d normally recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat based on how well it’s performed for me.

That said, it is genuinely painful to see what is happening to memory prices right now. The price gouging we’re seeing due to this whole AI-driven supply inflation is completely insane. I feel terrible for anyone trying to put together a new PC build today; having to pay these inflated, skyrocketing prices for the exact same hardware I grabbed for under $100 feels like a massive slap in the face to builders. Great product, but the current market is making it impossible to recommend to anyone on a budget.

I used these in a new computer build, late generation Intel on a Gigabyte board. They worked fine the first time. Glad I bought them last October before prices nearly tripled due to data centers popping up everywhere, grabbing PC parts faster than OEMs can make them.

Don't confuse stability of Ram vs CPU and BIOS compatibility with EXPO
Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2023

Initially had problems running EXPO on a b650 tomahawk, memory context restore led to BSOD bluescreen and general instability even when updating bios. Tweaked some settings mainly "Enable Power Down" and ran it at 6000 mhz manual. This helped avoid Bluescreen but still had issues with sound popping and crackling. I am not sure what the issue was but I assume the default voltage on the MB was too high but after researching and watching some Gamers Nexus videos it is most likely it is a compatibility issue with MB's and AMD, the MB companies not receiving correct data from AMD leading to instability utilizing EXPO.

I solved this by switching to a Asus ROG Strix B650E-F Wifi and have not had a problem with this RAM thus far.

Although I was a bit confused being that without expo this RAM is rated at 4000 mhz not 6000. I assumed default speeds were 6000 and EXPO would increase it further. I am not 100% sure on this but it seems as if the advertised speeds are only when EXPO profile is on. Seems to be the case.

Very curious about the flagship version from Gigabyte if it is any better but I just hate RGB tbg. Hope this review helps.

Bought this right before the AI shortage and it has been working perfectly at the full 6000 Mhz with a Ryzen 9 9950X using EXPO (4x 16 GB sticks). Do not waste your money on this now unless you absolutely need it to show companies that this absurd pricing cannot continue.

Solid but overpriced. You can probably find more affordable alternatives, though the RAM market in general is pretty overpriced right now. However, if you have the budget and want reliability, this is the best option.
