Earlier this month, graduate students in the School of Urban & Regional Planning​ traveled to Delmar, Iowa to work with Delwood Community School District students. The Grant Wood Art Colony announced the 2017 Grant Wood Legacy Prize recipients. The award enables UI to discover young Iowa artists to encourage their talent. Undergraduate students in @ui_engineering's Civil and Environmental Engineering capstone course hit the ground running on their Iowa Initiative for Sustainable Communities project in Preston, Iowa. Students met with officials to discuss the design of a pocket neighborhood. Pocket neighborhoods are small, planned, residential communities featuring community-building amenities in common space, such as outdoor grilling area, common garden, edible landscaping, and more. #IISC #ECIA #OutreachIowa

UI students met with 4-6 graders at Delwood Elementary School in Delmar, Iowa yesterday to discuss an upcoming project.
