Myself and my fiancé wantched
@disneylionking the other day. We live in Wales but my fiancé is from Zimbabwe & South Africa and has not been back for a few years. I found the opening very stirring and when I looked over to my fiancé she was crying. She found it so moving... -
She said it was just like home. And see all the animals, that she has seen growing up, looking so really on the big screen was so powerful and moving for her. Thanks

Also, to clarify, im talking about the animals my fiancé saw when she would go on SAFARI with her family growing up. There were no lions rocking around her neighbourhood.

God damn, Jon I thought it was the shot of the mouse that Scar wants to eat. I was fooled I thought it was real. Also some shots of Simba and Mufasa I was convinced it was a real lion. CG has come a long way.

Indeed it did! Yay new technology! Hopefully it means less use of animal actors. No need for more stress for 'em, which is safer for both crew and the animals.

Saw this last week and 100% knew its real. This shot was pretty obvious that it was live action.

Genuinely curious, what made it obvious? I had been suspicious of a shot of the moon later in the film.

As sun as the sun started rising up, I was able to see the way the environment reacted to it. It was how I was able to recognize the difference between film and cg renders. It looked organic. It was motion of it that also connected to me as something that was purely natural.
