The US election provided The Guardian with just such an opportunity which enabled them to substantially increase engagement. Using new functionality in Android Nougat, the Guardian gave its users a rich, real time update on the results as they happened.

Today we are launching the fifth and final developer preview for Android Wear 2.0. We have added iOS support as well as enhancements to Wearable Navigation Drawer, NFC HCE support and fixed a number of bugs. Apps compiled with API level 25 and this support library are considered to be ready for deployment in the Google Play Store, so be sure to publish your apps before Android Wear 2.0 launches in early February
