M0004: Morgan Gallup Poll, May, 1984 (Computer Reports)

POLLING ORGANISATION Roy Morgan Research Centre SURVEY METHOD Each weekend, 110 trained interviewers are sent to different but randomly- selected "cluster points" spread in proportion to population over cities and country areas throughout Australia. Ten dwellings are visited at each cluster, with one person at home in each dwelling selected for interview. Interviews are conducted during daylight hours, on Saturdays and Sundays when most people are at home. Each weekend, an Australia-wide cross-section of about 1,100 different people aged 14 years and over from 110 districts is therefore interviewed. BACKGROUND VARIABLES age / sex / location / occupation of breadwinner / income of breadwinner / work status / occupation (full-time) / income (full-time) / marital status / education / country of birth / voting intention WEIGHTING The responses are weighted to match the age, gender and location distribution of the sample to the population.
