Teaching is at the heart of everything I do. As a secondary school business teacher, I work with students from Year 9 to 11, guiding them through the subject's complexities and real-world examples through engaging and practical lessons. In addition, I am an OCR GCSE Business examiner, bringing a thorough understanding of the curriculum and assessment standards.

With over 25 years of experience as a business owner and director of sales & marketing, I understand the real-world challenges of driving growth and increasing sales. I've mentored individuals at every career stage—from interns taking their first steps to C-level entrepreneurs preparing to launch new ventures.

My expertise extends beyond the classroom. As an Association of Business Mentors (ABM) member and a recommended mentor in the UK Government's Help to Grow: Management Course, I am dedicated to helping individuals and businesses thrive. By applying my leadership and management skills, I offer professional and personal development guidance, equipping others to achieve their goals.

Dairy is one of the world's most important food industries. But too many of the conversations shaping its future still happen in silos.

Producers talk to producers. Suppliers talk to customers. Retail talks to retail. Foodservice has its own conversations. Innovation, ingredients, technology and consumer behaviour often sit somewhere in between.
I think there is an opportunity to connect more of those dots.

That's what we're building with Dairy Connect.

My background is in strategy, brands, marketing and business development. Today, much of my time is spent talking to people across the dairy value chain - from processors and cheesemakers to retailers, foodservice operators, ingredient businesses, technology providers and industry leaders.

Those conversations provide an interesting vantage point.
The dairy industry is changing.

Protein is reshaping consumer perceptions of the category. Whey is becoming strategically more important. Healthy ageing could create entirely new markets. Foodservice remains underdeveloped as a route for dairy innovation. Retail is changing. AI and technology are beginning to alter the supply chain. And consumer expectations around value, health, convenience, sustainability and experience continue to move.

I use LinkedIn to explore those changes.
Some posts will be based on data.
Some on conversations I've had.
Some will challenge conventional thinking.

And occasionally I'll talk about what we're getting right - and wrong - as we build Dairy Connect. I don't pretend to have all the answers.

But I do think the dairy industry needs more conversations between the people who might.

If you work anywhere across dairy, cheese, ingredients, retail, foodservice, technology or the wider supply chain, I'd be interested to connect.

🌐 dairy-connect.com | steve@dairy-connect.com
