I got to experience what is what like on the other side of the fence to accounting software. Sleek is a phenomenal business, run by equally as phenomenal people. A big thank you to Julien Labruyere and Adrien Barthel for the opportunity to contribute. Growing tech business often get evaluated based on their revenues, not wrong but creating a company that's created 500+ roles for dedicated and driven people is something to really be proud of. It’s been a thoroughly enjoyable time, a great learning experience, one of the best I’ve had but all good things come to an end. I’ve got to work with a wonderful global leadership team and the UK team are some of the most caring, customer-focused people I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with, the saddest part of leaving is I don’t get to engage with them all daily moving forward. A big thank you to my leadership team Katie Laybourn, Chloe Waite, Holly Chapman MAAT, Aditya Mukherjee, Toby Denwood, Nuzhat Haider (ACCA)(MBA), Noorahmad Khan, Chintan shah, Ryan Critchley, Guillaume Cochard, Nicky Perucho and my finance eyes and ears Angela. My new role is loading and I'm excited to get going, but this post is about the gratitude I have for Sleek and the people involved that made the last 2 years a thoroughly enjoyable experience for me.

On Tuesday and Wednesday this week we gathered the troops at the Aldgate office for an onsite sales gathering which was a great opportunity to meet with many of the team in person. We had 2 days of really informative conversations. Among these sessions were strategic updates (Dave Jangid Kenny MacAulay), roadmap insight (Wendy Rowe, ATT CTA MBA) AI adoption (Duncan Gillingwater), Marketing updates (Jenny H.) and obviously lots of sales chat (thanks Mark McNee for all your preparation efforts) These was also a great chance to chat over drinks and dinner in the evening . The roof top bar at the Hilton Doubletree in Tower Hill providing a fantastic location. Thanks to all that contributed and participated over and above those mentioned above. Jon Bellamy liked thisJon Bellamy liked thisI'm incredibly excited to share that I've joined Tenzai as Vice President of Sales, EMEA. Leaving AlgoSec after almost four fantastic years wasn't a decision I took lightly. I'll always be grateful to my colleagues, customers and partners for the opportunities, friendships and trust we've built over the years. Together, we achieved more than I could have imagined, and I'm incredibly proud of everything we accomplished. So, why Tenzai? For me, it came down to three things: the people, the technology and the timing. I'd known Pavel and Ariel for years from our Guardicore days and had been following what they were building with real interest. The opportunity to work with my former CRO, Nathan Perdue, again, and meet the wider team made it clear this was a team I wanted to be part of. I've always believed that great businesses are built by great people. Tenzai has both. Over the years I've worked with some of the world's largest organisations and seen first-hand how difficult it is for security teams to separate genuine risk from the noise. The simplest way I describe Tenzai is this: it's an AI hacker. Using autonomous, agentic AI, it continuously thinks like an attacker, mapping your attack surface, finding weaknesses, chaining them together and proving what is genuinely exploitable. Rather than producing another list of theoretical findings, it helps organisations understand what actually matters, accelerate mitigation, and reduce real risk. That really resonated with me. It's a practical approach to one of the biggest challenges security teams face today, and I genuinely believe it's a better way forward. What excites me most, though, is the opportunity ahead. The chance to build the EMEA business, grow an exceptional team, strengthen our partner ecosystem, and work with customers to rethink what's possible with continuous offensive security is one I simply couldn't pass up. I'm looking forward to kicking things off at Black Hat USA this week. If you're in Las Vegas, come and say hello at Booth #1561. When I started in March 2012 the Xero UK team consisted of 10 people and we had about 10,000 subscribers. I've enjoyed my time at Xero, being part of a business that grew rapidly to what it is now with over a million subscribers. Thank you to my colleagues at Xero and the customers I interacted with everyday, for making the last 14 years a blast. I'll now be making a move to the south coast, taking a break and see what the future holds.

Jon Bellamy liked thisJon Bellamy liked thisLast night I had a team squash match, back at the club, Newgiggin, where I collapsed on court 10 months ago and ended up having open heart surgery. Can't say I wasn't nervous driving up there and definitely had some stage fright before going back onto the same court as 10 months previously . The mind definitley can play some funny games on you. As for the match - only one result when you you’re up against someone much younger, fitter and most importantly, better than you. Honourable 3- 1 defeat. (Image from SquashSkillsBlog)

Last week, we announced that Smart Data Capture and extraction are coming directly into the core Xero platform, ahead of MTD for Income Tax. This is great news for clients. An uplift in functionality with no app-switching. But when you combine this with the news that accounts production (and eventually corp tax) is moving into core Xero too, it signifies a much bigger shift. Historically, client and practice workflows have been disparate. Now that barrier has been removed. For the first time they will genuinely be able to together in one place, using the same data and the same workflows to reach the same outcomes. That means less admin, cleaner data, and more capacity. The real opportunity now is how firms redesign their workflows to take full advantage of this unified environment. Link to the press release in the comments :)
