Jacob Cook shared thisSo Arsenal won the Premier League last night.... Cool. Moving on. Because today there's actually something worth talking about. On May 27th, TheyDo is going live with our TheyDo Agent - agentic AI built directly into the journey management platform. Not a chatbot. Not a glorified search bar. An AI that actually understands the structured CX context your team already lives in and helps you build it, surface what matters, and prove the impact. Three things it does: → Turns raw signals and surveys into connected, structured context → Tells you what to do next (and why) before the exec meeting, not after → Closes the loop between business outcomes and CX. With receipts. Live reveal on May 27 with our CEO Jochem van der Veer, TheyDo expert Rebecca Dickson, and a real customer showing how they're using it. 5 PM CET | 11 AM ET | 8 AM PT Block your calendar. Jacob Cook reposted thisJacob Cook reposted this💥 Exclusive first look at TheyDo Agent. Live on May 27. Purpose-built AI grounded in the structured context CX teams already maintain. We'll show you three things it's built to do: 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁. Structure your data using AI and customer journey context. Raw signals, quotes, and surveys become a connected picture, with every Agent action proposed for your approval. 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. Surface opportunities aligned with business priorities, so teams know what to do next, and why. CX teams walk into exec meetings with the answer, not a draft. 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗖𝗫 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁. Connect business outcomes back to customer experience for a closed-loop system, with every claim traceable to evidence in the workspace. You can always show your work. Want to see it in action? Join us for the live product reveal with Jochem van der Veer (CEO and co-founder), Rebecca Dickson (TheyDo expert), and hear how one of our customers is using TheyDo Agent to change the way their CX team works with the rest of the business. 🗓️ May 27, 2026 🕔 5 PM CET | 11 AM ET | 8 AM PT Block your calendar. Jacob Cook shared thisIt's been a while since I've posted but I need to get back into the habit! It's been a fast start to my time at TheyDo - Journey Management with lots to learn, lots of people to meet and plenty to sink my teeth into including some amazing roles! I am currently on the lookout for: 🤖 Senior AI Engineer - Building TheyDo's first AI agent and scaling data ingestion from thousands to millions of customer data points. You'll drive fast-paced experimentation across RAG systems, agentic workflows, and LLM evaluation frameworks - work that ships directly into the product. Close proximity to the founders and a company OKR built around agentic AI in 2026. Stack: Python, AWS, LLMs, RAG 🗄️ Senior Data Engineer - Joining a newly forming data team, you'll own the technical foundation - designing scalable pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and future proofing the data platform to power both internal insights and AI features. High autonomy, self-directed, no unnecessary meetings. Stack: GCP, BigQuery, dbt, Airflow, Terraform, Python 🧪 Senior Quality Platform Engineer - This is not traditional QA. You'll build and own the quality platform - CI/CD pipelines, TypeScript based test automation frameworks, and developer tooling that enables engineers to ship with confidence at scale. Platform and DevEx mindset is essential. Stack: Playwright, TypeScript, GitHub Actions All three roles sit inside a genuinely async, remote-first environment where engineers have the autonomy to shape what gets built and how. Interested or know someone who might be? Drop me a message.

Jacob Cook shared thisThe rental market is c**p 💩 My partner and I are looking to move to Cardiff in the next month and we have been trying to get viewings booked in the build up to the move. Today I had hands down one of the worst viewings I've ever had in my 11 years of renting. Way before we could ever view the property, I had to provide proof of income, 2 different ID types, a credit check and previous landlord references due to "high interest". The property was listed at £1,350 per month, with pictures of well lit rooms, nice furniture, freshly painted walls, new carpet and what seemed like a nice flat for the price. How wrong one can be! When I arrived at the flat: - There were about 15 rotting bin bags in the entrance - Hallway/Stairway seemed as if they'd not hoovered since the Blitz - The paint was scuffed, dirty and ruined - The wallpaper was hanging off the walls - Skirting boards were all falling away or broken The best part was when I asked if the carpet, paint and wallpaper would be sorted before moving in, the letting agent let me know that the landlord had no plans for it but she would make recommendations.... wow. 🤦♂️ If in recruitment I asked a candidate for proof of salary, ID, credit checks and previous employment references before even reviewing their CV I imagine they'd tell me to politely *EXPLICIT DELETED*. Now If I'd ever done all of that, just to present them with some awful job which was so far removed from what was originally sold, they'd probably have my head on a pike, and rightly so! How has the rental market gotten so bad and how are are Estate Agents not embarrassed to present astronomically priced properties that are barely livable unless you're a rodent or cockroach. This country is going further and further down the toilet on a daily basis. Rant over. 😠🤬 #NotSoGreatBritain #Renting #PropertyViewings #Dookie

Jacob Cook shared thisToday on LinkedIn I've seen some absolute tripe about the WFH debate.. An old crusty bloke who had something to do with M&S and ASDA, and that lizard masquerading as an entrepreneur (Elon Musk) both spouting complete and utter nonsense. They were individually talking about how remote working is immoral (Musk talks morality, the irony)... ...and how it is directly linked with the downfall of the UK Economy (supermarkets are making decent profits though aren't they you worn-out sandal of a man). Now whilst they're both rich and successful, it's clear they're both out of touch 🔔ends with very little understanding of the lives of every day people... so why do we keep giving them a platform for this rhetoric. Remote working, objectively, has led to - Increased outputs. - More opportunities for Women (which is paramount for industries like tech). - Reduced costs for travelling and positive impacts on the climate. - Better job satisfaction and better work / life balance. - Better opportunities for single parents. - More opportunity for people to adopt rescue pets into their schedules. - More diverse teams and environments. - More time with families and friends (the people that actually matter). - More time to focus on health and exercise. The list goes on (and on and on) but you get my point. Remote working is amazing for those that can do it. Yes, some people take the piss when they work from home but guess what... they're doing it at their desk too... ...And yes, remote working doesn't work for everyone - I certainly wouldn't want a surgeon doing open heart procedures on their oak dining table - but this isn't a one size fits all topic. Honestly, if idiots like Musk and Mr Crusty supermarket man had it their way, they'd have the thought police doing numbers on anyone who dared step outside their 9-5 to get a wash out or pick their kids up from school. I really wouldn't be shocked if Musk turned around and suggested Ford / Orwellian-esque baby making factories and government backed class systems if it allowed for 16 hour in office working arrangements and unwavering loyalty to the world state. 🤦♂️ Remote is good, change is good, things can modernise, innovation helps and with that, we have to leave behind these outdated ways of working (and outdated people/lizards if possible.) Anyway.. get back to work! They're watching you. 👁️👃👁️ #LizardElon #RemoteWorking #1984 #BigBrother

Jacob Cook shared thisWe've all seen them since logging on today so I thought I'd chip in... a Recruiters obligatory back to work post. 🤮 So here we go... Something about Christmas and family being great. Add in mentions of food consumed and alcohol drank. Chums seen and lie ins had. Add in a dash of New Years being wild and a night to remember, me being a better me (fat chance, I'm already fab) and maybe doing some exercise. Quit in a week. The classic, ready to hit the ground at pace to find you that perfect job rahdah rahdah. Things haven't slowed down dribble drabble. Picking up where we left off yawn. If like me, you just about managed to crawl out of bed this morning and get back to work, well done. It was bloody hard. Here's to another 365 spins around that big light in the sky I've not seen in months. I think it's called the Sun. 🍻 PS. I actually had a great Christmas and New Years break. #2025 #MakeLinkedInPostsOriginalAgain #NewYearSameMe

Jacob Cook shared thisSome lush news as we draw to the end of the year... Last week was my 6 month anniversary and I've passed my probation! 🎉 It was a massive leap to go Internal. I'd been involved in Agency recruitment in some capacity from the age of 18 and I was worried I'd miss the atmosphere a Sales role provides. Safe to say those fears were arbitrary and whilst I miss some of my colleagues, the last 6 months have been some of the most rewarding months for me professionally. Some highlights of my first 6 months: 🌟 Getting involved in project work to mature our Recruitment processes. 🌟 Building something awesome from the ground up. 🌟 Attending events held by inspiring leaders in the Internal space. 🌟 Hired 21 new superstars and more to come! 🌟 £0 agency spend since starting. 🌟 An amazing team that keeps growing (can nearly understand the accent). 🌟 Some really cool charity work (Christmas boxes were amazing)! All in all, it's been so much fun and I cannot wait to see what the next 6 months have to offer. It hasn't been without challenges and learning curves but it's all been so rewarding and has left me hungry for more. There's still days where I have some impostor syndrome but it hasn't stopped me from throwing myself into everything and I'm excited to keep learning and growing within myself! So much on the horizon to get excited about in the New Year. Roll on 2025! #talent #internal #recruitment #hiring

Jacob Cook liked thisJacob Cook liked thisWho would've thought that journeys as a schema for AI would work incredibly well? Pulling together data for the exec business review? 1-2 weeks at least. With Agent? 1-2 minutes for the data, 1-2 hours for the presentation. But what's most important: it's not about customer insights alone. These insights are linked to performance issues, financial gains and carry business context as well. Proving the value of CX was never about customer insights. Before, you needed to pull data from disparate sources: at best there is some semantic similarity in the way these systems are designed. - VoC data - Product delivery - Business performance - Support logs But usually, reconciling these data sets is hard work and happens by hand. Not anymore, after TheyDo agent's recent update. This entire process can now be offloaded to AI, automated and only have humans in the loop to validate - not to build. We designed the Agent to not only understand different types of data, but also to reason over a journey framework. A better context graph of how experience, business and customer data relate. Once this context graph is in place, AI reasons over a new type of data model. Metrics and feedback that were from different systems, now are related by proximity. Where in the customer experience do they occur? If you want to see Agent in action, we're in Amsterdam in and around the Forrester CX Summit. DM me if you are there!

Jacob Cook liked thisJacob Cook liked thisIt’s still staggering to me how little attention GitHub pays to the review experience of Markdown files. The fact that in 2026 comments are still not supported in the preview mode of Markdown files is 🤯 All while spec-driven development gets so much traction and engineers start to collaborate much more on .md files than on the code itself. How can one review a diagram, a more complex table, see an embedded screenshot? Even worse, when switching between the two modes, the scroll jumps all over. Honestly, awful UX. Can’t Copilot vibe-code this from the few open community tickets asking for it? :troll-face: — Curious what tools folks here use to collaborate on and review specs via .md files versioned in git 🙏 I am desperately searching for a decent developer experience.

Jacob Cook reacted on thisJacob Cook reacted on thisRemote work has ruined my life. My husband works ten feet from me. We have to eat lunch together at our actual table every day like some kind of married couple. My toddler walks into my office during the day and I have to look at him. He's too cute. It's distracting. My grandfather comes over for coffee every morning. I have to spend too much time with him. My dog gets too many treats. She's getting spoiled. I do laundry during the workday. Now my clothes are always clean. The Saturday-morning sock crisis is dead and I miss it. The gym at 10am is empty. No line for the squat rack. No man grunting next to me. I'm being robbed of the suffering that builds character. I work from Spain for 6 months a year and the food is too good. I have to eat Octopus and Mussels. My team flies somewhere new twice a year and we spend 4 days in the same room. We are forced to explore a new location. I really wish I could go back to a cubicle. A fluorescent light. Coffee that doesn't taste like anything. A commute that takes 90 minutes both ways. And no time at home with my family. Bring back the simple life. Repost if you agree!

Jacob Cook liked thisJacob Cook liked thisWhat does it take to turn Customer Experience into an enterprise-level strategy? It comes down to solving three major challenges: 🔹 Building context: How do you connect scattered data to one customer journey? And how do you make the insights current, traceable and grounded in real customer moments? Even considering loads of business KPIs in different places, voice of the customer data, customer interactions and multiple customer journeys. 🔹 Delivering intelligence: How do you prioritize the roadmap with shared customer context, source opportunities aligned with business priorities, or make CX teams walk into exec meetings with the relevant insights in minutes? 🔹 Tracking CX impact: How to tie every initiative to measurable customer outcomes to eliminate guesswork? The answer to address all of these challenges is TheyDo Agent. Please join Jochem van der Veer, Rebecca Dickson, and Louise Kampmann Kahlen (YouSee) for an exclusive deep dive into how this shifts the paradigm for CX leaders. https://lnkd.in/eqK45sHE

What. A. Year! We closed big enterprise deals, developed relationships, and proved what this incredible team is capable of when we live our values and #Journeytogether. TheyDo recognized roles beyond just AEs: Solutions Engineers, AEs, and leadership, winning together. It often takes a small army to win, and President's Club was a celebration of the talent in every role. I am proud of what we achieved, and even more proud to do it alongside people who are not only brilliant but genuinely great humans. Here's to keeping that momentum going. #thebestisyettocome 🥂🚀

MD/CEO/CIOs in recruitment... If your CRM contract ends in Q1 2027 you probably need to start doing your review of the market NOW 🚨 Start those conversations, get a list of your must haves, like to haves - have an idea of who can support that. Meet the suppliers, dive into their setup, training, ongoing support, ask about road map. Don't leave it too late ⏳ . A data migration with what should be the most important asset of your business shouldn't be rushed. 💨 Anyone sayiing it can be done in weeks is deseprate for the business, of course on occasions there might be time constraints, but the best projects are planned, designed, mapped correctly, trained sufficiently. 💻 Furthermore, the longer you leave it to your renewal 'notice period' date the less in control of your tech you become. You run the risk of having to auto-renew for another 3 years, just because you couldn't guarantee a smooth process of change. Your current supplier become less helpful the nearer you get to renewal date (I have a few in mind) 🤔 Tech is changing at a rate of knots, AI obviously is the main driver on that. But the fact is, what got you to where you are, may not be what gets you to where you are going, but it might be but how confident are you its the best tech for what you need for next 3-5 years.... ⚖️ But unless you prepare, unless you research into what is going on TODAY then you are not ensuring your business continues to have a competitive advantage from a tech perspective, and tech WILL be the competitive advantage. 📈 Do not fall victim to the Auto-Renewal. See what is out there, if the decision is to stay with what you got then at least you know that was a decision based on where tech is now, not where it was 5 years ago!

Spoke to a hiring manager this week. Busy team Projects delivering But the pipeline unclear “We’re good for now… just not sure about the next 6–9 months.” I’m hearing this a lot right now. It’s not delivery slowing down It’s customers not committing And underneath that, a bigger issue Most sales teams convert Very few actually hunt They’re good with inbound, Less so at creating demand. That’s where the gap is. Because the partners who are winning this year wont just deliver well, They’ll build pipeline when it’s quiet. And those salesman are rare. Which is why hiring feels paused, not because there’s no work today. But because tomorrow isn’t clear

"Reducing Hiring Turnaround in UK/EU Tech Recruitment" In global recruitment delivery, speed without quality is chaos. While leading a 20-member recruitment team supporting UK & EU markets, we improved SLA adherence and reduced hiring turnaround time by up to 60% by implementing: • Structured role prioritization • Submission-to-interview ratio tracking • Weekly recruiter performance reviews • Clear escalation pathways The result: Faster closures, fewer client escalations, stronger retention. Recruitment delivery is not about volume alone - it’s about operational precision. #RecruitmentDelivery #UKStaffing #MSP #TalentOperations

This guest blog from Stormie Haller at Tracker, part of our 2026 Playbook: What Recruiters Need to Do Differently series, explores what really matters next. Three trust priorities for 2026: 🎯 Verify early AI-written CVs and synthetic candidates are rising. Add credibility checks at the start, not the end. 🎯 Treat compliance as a trust signal Be transparent about AI use, data handling and ethics. It builds confidence, not friction. 🎯 Make authenticity visible Real people, clear feedback and human connection now differentiate great recruiters. In a world where AI can fake credentials and communication, trust is the one thing you can’t automate. 📖 Read the full blog 👇 https://lnkd.in/eyWW5VaZ #2026Playbook #TrustInRecruiting #AIinRecruitment #Compliance #CandidateExperience #UKRecruiter

According to LinkedIn's hiring benchmark, the average time to hire in the UK for a mid-level software engineer is just shy of 50 days... For a DevOps Engineer its more than 60 days. Is it me or does that seem like a long time... And depending on who you have involved in the recruitment process - it could be leading to almost 2 months of lost productivity - having knock on effects to product roadmaps, feature development and release deadlines... Those companies with strong hiring strategies in place - allowing their tech teams to do what they do best - are the ones winning the competition for talent.

The UK IT and Tech market is currently at a fascinating crossroads. As a member of the KPMG and REC, UK Report on Jobs panel, I’ve been analysing the latest data against what we are seeing on the ground at Langley James. While the broader headlines suggest caution, there is a clear "undercurrent" of activity—specifically a 2.5-year high in demand for project-based expertise. I am launching The IT & Tech Talent Report here on LinkedIn to provide a regular, practical perspective on these shifts for my network. In this first edition: Why firms are prioritising project delivery over permanent headcount in Q2. Why London and the North are currently bucking the national hiring trend. Fresh May 2026 benchmarks for IT, Tech, and AI roles. You can read the full market update and access the latest insights here: 👉 https://lnkd.in/eNCpQMwx If you’re currently reviewing your own team structure or navigating a difficult search, I’m always happy to share a perspective on how these trends are impacting your specific niche. #ITRecruitment #TechTrends #KPMG #Hiring2026 #LangleyJames #AITalent

The Oliver Bernard Salary Benchmark has been updated for Q2. While the salary bands across JavaScript and Mobile have not changed significantly, we are seeing a clear shift in how competitive companies need to be. Whereas offers were previously coming in at the lower end of the bands, we’re now seeing a trend towards the middle and upper ranges. Businesses are having to step up to secure top talent. The market in these areas is very active again, and competition has noticeably increased. The best candidates are often choosing between multiple offers, so it is more important than ever to lead with a strong, compelling package. Check out the latest data here - https://lnkd.in/ehgcQBXY

If you’re working through acquisition or integration and haven’t reviewed your resourcing plan, you’re already behind. We speak to private equity-backed companies weekly who need: - A Transformation Director tomorrow - Data & tech capability yesterday - IR35-compliant contract teams without drama The earlier we’re brought into the conversation, the more value we can add. Because yes we can fill gaps fast. But the biggest returns come when we’re part of the plan, not the patch-up.

Why staffing flexibility matters: EHCP funding can move, permanent salaries can’t. When a pupil with an EHCP moves, their top-up funding usually follows, but a permanent staff member’s salary doesn’t. With a permanent hire, the salary cost stays, even if the funding doesn’t. With agency staff, you can: ✅ Scale staffing down if a pupil leaves…and back up if another arrives ✅ Use temp-to-perm, our most popular option, to keep great staff once you already know they’re the right fit ✅ Avoid committing too early to someone unproven For schools, that’s financial flexibility. For staff, it’s a safer pathway to stability. 💬 Temp-to-perm has proved so successful for lots of our schools. If you’d like to a see how it works and whether it could be a good option for you, send me a DM.

We are seeing the same pattern inside major contractors… Talent Acquisition teams are under pressure to cut agency spend, while business leaders just want the 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭 so projects can mobilise quickly and their customers stay happy. At Fortiva, we see this tension all the time – TA teams focused on cost, and directors quietly going straight to recruiters who have a network and can deliver. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡: when a business is in growth mode – especially in construction and engineering – 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 of hire beat savings every time. You can’t deliver major projects without the right people – and the cost of delay or under-resourcing dwarfs any recruitment fee. #Construction #Engineering #Recruitment #Leadership #Talent #Fortiva

Are you using role-based IR35 assessments the right way? Many businesses use role-based assessments to speed up hiring decisions. It’s a smart way to get an early view of IR35 status, but only if done properly. The key is knowing the difference: ✔️A role-based assessment helps streamline hiring. ✔️A blanket determination risks non-compliance. The distinction matters. Role-based assessments can bring consistency and efficiency – but only when combined with individual checks once a contractor is engaged. Our new article explains how to apply this approach without falling into the blanket determination trap. 👉 Read it here: https://buff.ly/WqYiHgc #IR35 #IR35assessment #IR35Compliance #Compliance #Consultation #HRnews #HR #HMRC

🤯 Have you seen Bullhorn's 2026 GRID report? It landed with a stat that's been rattling around my head a while. Applications to #recruitment agencies are up 51% year on year. That sounds like great news until you think about where applications are coming from. 🤖 Candidates are using #AI to mass-apply. Auto-generated CVs, cover letters written by ChatGPT (or more likely Claude), one-click applications across dozens of roles. The funnel is fuller than it's been in years, but the signal-to-noise ratio has collapsed. So what are agencies doing about it? Buying AI screening tools to filter through the AI-generated applications. Let that sit for a second. 🧠 The same GRID report found that top-performing recruitment agencies are four times more likely to be using AI ... and with those that grew revenue by 25%+, 78% of them have AI embedded in their ATS. I don't doubt those numbers. 🏃♂️ But I keep wondering whether we're building a treadmill. Korn Ferry's 2026 TA Trends data puts it in useful perspective. 73% of talent leaders now rank critical thinking as their number one recruiting priority. ⚠️ 'AI skills' came fifth. The people who can look at a shortlist and say "something's off here" are worth more than the tool that built the shortlist. With applications up 51% screening tools are clearly important, but the most in-demand skill is still human judgment. What does that tell you about where the real investment should go? https://lnkd.in/ebRF4sPW

February has been full on across placements, senior briefs and growth planning conversations. Recent placements are settling in well and those teams are now considering their next hire from a position of clarity, not pressure. At the same time, I’m working on: • A director-level technology role within a fast growing startup, referred in and being carefully sense checked for alignment rather than rushed to market. • A senior creative hire where fit and long term chemistry matter more than speed. • Several ongoing conversations about senior appointments, unpacking internal pressures to ensure the hire strengthens the business rather than compensates for structural gaps. I’ve also stepped in to support short-term capability gaps where campaigns can’t pause and experienced freelance support needs to move quickly while longer term decisions are worked through. Alongside this, I’m compiling the next CDR Industry Pulse Report, built from real conversations across creative, digital and tech teams. Early signals are clear: • Leaders are being more deliberate about role clarity before hiring. I’m seeing this firsthand. • Professionals are being more intentional about fit, stability and long term impact. Speed matters in the right moments. Clarity matters in the bigger ones.

If you run an in-house Executive TA pod, it aint about 'filling roles'. It’s about grip. Meta, Amazon Exec and Ernst & Young flex this with Loxo 🦉 Grip over: • Board-level stakeholders • Discreet, NDA’d pipelines • Competitive C-suite operators • Global, remote execution The 3 pains I see most: 1️⃣ Long-cycle, sensitive mandates with shifting direction 2️⃣ Competitive exec builds where leakage kills advantage 3️⃣ Inconsistent workflows across distributed teams Most systems weren’t built for that level. Loxo was. Not AI bolted on. Native, proprietary recruiting AI (6th gen) trained on recruiter workflows since 2012. 1.2B+ professionals mapped in a live Talent Intelligence Graph. AI agents sourcing. Automated outreach. Call summaries. CRM updating itself. The outcomes? ✔️ Competitive insulation ✔️ Board-ready visibility ✔️ Repeatable global execution That’s Talent Intelligence. Loxo are the Talent Intelligence Platform. If you’re leading an exec pod and want tighter grip over the market, stakeholders and data in 2026, I am here to share 🗣️ mjagger@loxo.co #TalentIntelligence #ExecutiveHiring #InHouseTA #CLevel #TAOps #AIinRecruiting
