Purple Tree Communications
Public Relations and Communications Services
We give businesses the clarity and credibility they need to be visible, trusted, and ready for growth.
About us
About us Freshly sown, Purple Tree Communications established itself in April 2023. Our company may be young, but we are built on more than a decade of knowledge and experience in communications and the highways and transportation industry. Purple Tree Communications is headed up by Natalie Geraghty. For more than ten years, Natalie worked with infrastructure company, Kier, as head of communications in its highways division. A trained journalist, previous to this, Natalie worked as a local reporter for Johnston Press. With a passion for storytelling, strategic communications and event management, Natalie left her tenure at Kier to launch Purple Tree Communications, offering specialist communications services to small and medium-sized businesses. What we do We specialise in strategic communications and storytelling. A good story needs a good hook, and a strategy needs to achieve an outcome. Put the two together and you can grow something spectacular. But we don’t stop there. We have experience in social media planning, creative thinking, customer excellence and policy creation. And we have an extensive network of specialists in graphic design, website creation, marketing and sales. Why we do it Put simply, we love to tell stories - and we’d love to tell yours. Trust us with your tales and we’ll make people listen. We’re on a mission to bring out the people behind the brand, show some personality and talk in simple terms. Why complicate things and confuse people? That isn’t us and it shouldn’t be you either.

Whether we like it or not, AI isn't going to disappear any time soon. We're often asked why a business should pay for our services when "AI can do it all for us". Of course, #AI can be helpful if used properly, but it will only get you so far. Read our latest blog on why we don't use AI to create your #Marketing and #Communications strategy: https://lnkd.in/eHSmCSzC Natalie Geraghty Chart.PR #StrategicCommunications

We have some exciting news 💜 We’ve officially become the first consultancy in the UK to achieve the PRCA’s brand‑new CMS Go accreditation - a best‑practice standard designed specifically for small businesses like ours. CMS Go is a streamlined version of the globally recognised Communications Management Standard (CMS), created to support boutique agencies with ten or fewer employees while still maintaining the same rigorous expectations around leadership, client satisfaction, people development, financial management, and ethical practice. For us, this accreditation is much more than a badge. As a small specialist consultancy supporting the infrastructure sector, our work often happens behind the scenes. So it means a great deal for CMS Go to recognise the quality, ethics, and impact of what we deliver. You can read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/eE55FY6Y #GrowWithPurpleTree Hayley James Chart. Start at the beginning. It sounds obvious, doesn’t it? Yet so many businesses skip this crucial step when it comes to marketing and communications. Too often, teams jump straight to the tactics, the lovely shiny outputs, without building the strategy and supporting plan that should guide them. And then comes the question: “Why do we need a strategy if we already know what tactics we want to use?” Because those tactics might not be the right ones. Because your messaging might be confusing. Because you might be speaking into the void while your real audience is somewhere else entirely. A communications strategy isn’t a nice‑to‑have. It’s a vital foundation that brings clarity, sharpens your messaging, and ensures every action aligns with your business goals. Without it, you’re just doing… stuff. And “stuff” rarely makes an impact. Stop fixating on tactics before you’ve even begun your strategy. Welcome to 2026…we’ve been waiting for you! 🎉 January can be a slog. The long, cold and dreary days The millions of years it takes to get to payday The tedious “new year, new me” posts The sinking feeling that the last year should have played out differently Throw it all in the bin and do 2026 your way! We certainly are. For us at Purple Tree Comms, we personally love a little reset. Not the “reinvent your entire life” kind, but the practical kind. The kind where you take a breath, look at your plans, and get organised before the year runs away with you. Because if we don’t, by the time mad March rolls around, we’re all a little frazzled. 🥴 If that sounds familiar, consider this your sign - your gentle nudge to tick “sort comms” off your list ✅ We’re ready when you are. Make 2026 the year you achieve clarity, confidence and comms that actually work. DM us or email enquiries@purpletreecomms.co.uk for a free half an hour chat. Hayley James Chart. It’s now time for us to slow down a little and enjoy the festive holidays. We’d like to wish everyone who celebrates a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year ✨ 2025 has been a real eye-opener for us. Some great success, lots of lessons learned and plenty of growth. As we step into our third year of business, it’s hard not to feel proud. The first two years of any business are said to be the stormiest. Especially when life throws in personal challenges, the realities of cashflow, and the sometimes dog‑eat‑dog nature of running a small company. But we’ve weathered it. And we’re still here, stronger and more grounded than ever. We’ve only made it this far because of the trust our clients place in us. From day one, Purple Tree Comms was never about scaling up or becoming the next big agency. It was about doing meaningful work that genuinely helps organisations who don’t have in‑house comms expertise. And if we could bring in enough opportunities to share with our brilliant associates, then we’d be fulfilling our purpose many times over. For anyone self‑employed or freelance, that steady stream of work really is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow 🌈 Our curiosity pushed us forward, our transparency kept us grounded, and our loyalty - to our clients, our partners and each other - shaped everything we achieved. Some of our 2025 highlights include: - Cultivating meaningful new client relationships resulting in building comms strategies, carrying out brand a refresh, new websites, animations, photography, landing podcast interviews, media coverage and several client award wins. - Being shortlisted for a Wigan Business Award - Passing the PRCA CMS Go assessment – (more on what that means for our clients next year) - Joining the Greater Manchester Chamber, UK - Adopting Wigan Youth Zone as our chosen charity for the year - Growing our client base with new retainers and repeat work Thank you to everyone who has supported us, collaborated with us, or simply lent a shoulder. We’re heading into 2026 with full hearts, clear purpose and a lot of excitement for what’s next 💜 James Jordan Jen Bailey Emma Coleman Hayley James Chart.
