Most people looking for Founders Associate roles are searching in the wrong places. I've had 4 or 5 calls this year already where people interested in exploring these roles were introduced to me. Here's my 2 pence: It may not be right for everyone. If you're further along in your career, you'll probably take a step back in salary or "job title ego" but your growth will far surpass what you'd achieve on the corp ladder. Worth noting: pre-seed/seed startups operate differently to Series A+ companies. Know what you're walking into. Here's what actually works: 1. Go direct to solo founders They're drowning in work and need a generalist yesterday. DM them. Show you can unblock things. Skip the formal job posts. 2. Chat with StartUp embedded recruiters or accelerators. Places like Jumpstart live and breathe these placements. They know which founders are hiring before anyone else. I went via Will Boss on the off chance he had someone in his network that was interested! He read the room and placed the introduction to Karen Harris 3. Build in public Comment on founder posts. Make it obvious you understand the chaos and can thrive in it. Ask them for advice. Go straight to the well! 4. Prototype solutions with AI Ask about a real problem they're facing. Build a quick prototype or framework using AI tools, it's never been easier. Lovable, Google AI Studio or Anthropic would be my tool kit. Show them you can ship, not just think. They'll see you're a builder. The role doesn't exist on most job boards because founders hire who's already in the room. Be in the room.
