  • Our goal is simple. We give brands a better view of where influence is happening, and what to do with it. That’s why Share of Model™ has expanded. AI, search, creators, social, paid media. The lines between them are getting harder to draw, so Share of Model™ now brings more of those signals together, from AI Ads Optimization to Creator Intelligence. A more complete view of how people discover and choose brands. • There's a lot of talk about getting brands to “show up” in AI, but John Dawson's take goes well beyond that. What AI thinks about your brand, the context it sees it in, the role creators play and what happens when the conversation itself becomes the point of purchase. 🎧 📺 👇 Listen or watch Dylan Conroy and John unpack more on Share of Model, context, creators, paid media and why every chat could become a checkout. https://lnkd.in/gyxqEGqM

  • Winning brands need to be smart enough for machines to decode, and creative enough for people to care about. ❤️ Natasha Wallace recently jumped on the That's What I Call Marketing Podcast with Conor Byrne to unpack the trap of "brand flattening" - and why stripping out emotion to satisfy LLMs is a massive mistake. 🎧 Listen here! https://lnkd.in/daEiu2KQ

If I said “brand flattening”, would you know what I mean? It’s the risk that, as marketers start to understand that humans and LLMs look at advertising very differently, we over-correct for the machines and make our brands less interesting to people. Humans are incredibly good at inference, we can watch an ad, understand the humour, pick up a cultural reference, feel something from the music and join lots of dots. LLMs do not work like that, they are looking for clearer signals. What is this brand? What does it do? Why is it relevant? What are people saying about it? In what situations should it be recommended? All very rational stuff, you know the stuff that feels sort of robotic! Jellyfish looked at hundreds of Cannes-winning case studies and found very little correlation between how humans judged the creative and how the models judged it. Now a response to that might be to start making everything more explicit, so the models pick it up, more rational messaging, more explanation, more product detail, more content designed to make sure the machine gets it. This is what Natasha Wallace calls Brand Flattening. We have seen a version of this before with performance marketing, where optimisation gradually pulled a lot of advertising towards what could be easily measured rather than necessarily what made the brand distinctive. The same danger exists with AI. The answer is not to make every ad work equally well for a human and an LLM. A brilliant piece of advertising should still be allowed to make people laugh, feel something, remember the brand or talk about it, the job is to make sure the wider brand system gives the machines what they need. That can come through reviews, creators, YouTube, PR, ecommerce, product information, earned conversation and all the other signals that help an LLM understand what the brand stands for and why people trust it. Like with the long and short, the importance here is the AND, this isn't Humns or LLMs, it is humans AND LLMs The full conversation with Natasha Wallace, Chief Solutions Officer at Jellyfish, is on That’s What I Call Marketing, thanks to The Digital Voice™ for their partnership on this episode. • It’s easy to get caught up in the latest AI tools and tech updates, but this new piece by our Global Chief People Officer, Annabelle Walters, in theHRDIRECTOR is a great reminder of the bigger picture. The conversation digs into why the real shift with AI isn't just about automation. It's about how we structure teams, rethink what “high performance” means, and support our people through massive change. It's an insightful look into why driving real impact matters far more than just chasing output. Definitely worth a quick read if you're navigating team strategy right now! 👉 Read it here: https://lnkd.in/dCMU5buy

#IA #Jellyfish #RioInnovationWeek #Marketing

  • Luxury brands have spent decades building what might be called a visual vocabulary that tells a consumer, without spelling it out, that their product is different from the rest. AI systems aren’t immersed in that vocabulary. Luxury brands’ pressing task in the age of LLMs is to find the layer of explicit language that preserves meaning without dissolving the mystique, making the brand readable without rendering it ordinary. Read more: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/g-xwAwiQ The Brandtech Group, John Dawson, David Dubois, Akansh Jaiswal, Allison Hess, INSEAD, INSEAD Knowledge, Harvard Business Review

🚨 Is your #brand desirable to humans, to #AI or to both? #Desirability has historically been built through restraint and "saying less" but our new research suggests a striking paradox: the implicit, hedonic cues that make brands desired by humans can make them invisible to AI and thus weaken your brand visibility on / endorsement by #LLMs. We surveyed #ChatGPT, #Gemini & #Claude on four cues known to shape desire for humans—higher physical positioning, association with art, spacious display and slender design and packaging and found that LLMs can't read these signals the way people do. This calls for a new playbook : 1️⃣ Stop assuming AI sees what humans see, run your own #LLM audits across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and map the gaps. 2️⃣ Embed AI-valued attributes and features into #content, #product, and #merchandising. 3️⃣ Strategize for two audiences: storytelling-hungry humans heavily relying on senses to make meaning; AI as the new taste-makers and gatekeepers who learn through information, not experience Big thanks to my stellar coauthors Allison Hess & Jellyfish's John Dawson Akansh Jaiswal & to INSEAD Knowledge's Lee Seok Hwai 李淑淮 & Nick Measures! 🔗 Full article in comment #Desirability #AI #Luxury #BrandStrategy #GenerativeAI #LLM #GEO David Jones Tom Roach Natasha Wallace
