I’m really excited to be volunteering with The Social Mobility Foundation as a mentor on their Aspiring Professionals Programme. As someone who received free school meals who then went on to graduate from a Russell Group university and secure a graduate job straight after, social mobility is something I care deeply about. I benefitted directly from social mobility schemes like this one, and want to use my experience to support those who might be in a similar position. I'm looking forward to connecting with talented young people and (hopefully!) helping to build their confidence in navigating their next steps. If you've ever thought about giving back in this way, the time commitment is small compared with the difference you could make to someone's future, so I'd highly recommend signing up to volunteer. It's also worth shouting about the work we do at Give a Grad a Go Recruitment to ensure we champion social mobility. Our aim is to create a safe and encouraging space for every graduate, no matter their background.
