CHANEL is proud to support the reopening of the Cinéma Le Saint Germain des Prés, an iconic cinema of the French Nouvelle Vague that embodies the spirit of avant-garde and artistic freedom so dear to Gabrielle Chanel. In the heart of the Rive Gauche, CHANEL is partnering with this historic cinema to offer the public an ambitious programme: exclusive screenings, themed cycles and retrospectives, or those dedicated to great directors, creating a dialogue between heritage works and contemporary creation. Through its support to the cinema Le Saint Germain des Prés, the House perpetuates the historic ties that bind it to the seventh art and renews its commitment to cinematographic creation by preserving the emotional and shared experience of the movie theatre. Le Saint Germain des Prés will welcome the public from 3ʳᵈJune 2026 at 22, rue Guillaume Apollinaire in the 6ᵗʰ arrondissement of Paris. © Matteo Verzini

CHANEL takes part in the exhibition “Hidden Treasures, 250 Years of Franco-American Luxury Stories” presented by Comité Colbert at The Shed, New York, from 26ᵗʰ to 31ˢᵗ May 2026. The exhibition highlights the artistic and cultural links between France and United States through historic exchanges between 65 French luxury houses and cultural institutions, and America. Divided in five chapters, the exhibition is a journey through time thanks to objects and art pieces that are emblematic of the French-American artistic dialogue, exchanges that left their mark on both countries’ art, diplomacies, identities and pop cultures. CHANEL is featured in the exhibition’s “The Rise of Icons” chapter, illustrating the close ties between the House and cinema and its American icons. The House presents look 66 from the CHANEL Métiers d’art 2026 collection by Matthieu Blazy, unveiled last December in New York. This look features the poster for Mervyn LeRoy’s 1931 film 𝘛𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘰𝘳 𝘕𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 printed on a midi skirt and a coat, paying tribute to the links between CHANEL and Hollywood; Gabrielle Chanel had, in fact, created the costumes for the film’s leading actress, Gloria Swanson. A stand dedicated to the story of the legendary CHANEL N°5 fragrance worn by Marilyn Monroe further highlights the long-standing relationship between CHANEL, American movie stars and pop culture. The exhibition “Hidden Treasures, 250 Years of Franco-American Luxury Stories” is open to visitors by booking via The Shed’s website. 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘵: 𝘋𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘥 𝘍𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘪

Launched in 2024, the CHANEL AND CINEMA — TOKYO LIGHTS mentorship programme was created by CHANEL in association with film director Hirokazu Koreeda to support today’s up-and-coming generation of filmmakers, highlighting CHANEL’s commitment to passing down of creative knowledge to future generations. A masterclass about creation, led by mentors Hirokazu Koreeda, Tilda Swinton, Miwa Nishikawa, Koji Yakusho, and Sakura Ando, inaugurated the programme, as well as a series of workshops. After completion, emerging directors were able to enter a short film competition whereby CHANEL supported the production of 3 short films. As the first edition draws to a close, an award ceremony was held, showcasing these 3 short films by winning directors Rin Shuto, Sakura Tanaka, and Aoi Furukawa. The films are now being screened at CHANEL Nexus Hall in Tokyo until 24th May. See more at https://lnkd.in/ed-N-5zn
