Two announcements landed this week that were covered as good news for AI. Google launched WebMCP for Chrome. Cloudflare launched Markdown for Agents. Both make the web faster and cleaner for AI agents to navigate. Both also strip out the JavaScript layer entirely, which is where publishers' entire commercial infrastructure lives. Analytics, ad auctions, affiliate links, tracking pixels. All of it runs on JS. None of it exists in Markdown. This isn't a new problem. Live Search Agents have never executed JavaScript. What Google and Cloudflare have done is formalise that as the intended behaviour: at scale, by default, across the industry. Publishers lose an estimated $2 billion annually to AI bot traffic that bypasses their monetisation layer. That figure was already growing before this week. The response isn't to fight the architecture. It's to build commercial infrastructure that operates in the layer agents actually use. We wrote about what that looks like:

Advertising Services
Monetise your invisible audience. The first ad network for the agentic web.
About us
AI is now the majority of internet traffic. Platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity scrape publisher content at scale creating a blind spot. 📉 Publishers lose billions as bots consume content without monetisation. 📉 Brands miss the chance to be cited in the answers consumers trust. blankspace fixes this. We track AI traffic in real time, turn every scrape into a paid, AI-friendly ad impression, and measure brand uplift across prompts. ✅ Publishers unlock new revenue from invisible audiences. ✅ Advertisers gain visibility inside AI answers at the moment of decision. 🚀 We’re building the first ad network for the agentic web.

AI is now the biggest audience on the internet, and it’s invisible. Publishers are paying the bill for bots that scrape their pages. Brands are losing visibility in the answers consumers increasingly trust. And most businesses still have no idea how much of their traffic is AI. That’s why we wrote this breakdown: what AI traffic is, why it matters, and how you can finally track it. 👉 https://lnkd.in/e45KrQmw AI is the new distribution channel. If you’re not measuring it, you’re already behind.

Over 50% of your traffic doesn't come from people....how AI Bots Redefine Web Traffic in 2025 AI agents are now the majority audience on the web. Bots from OpenAI, Google, Meta, and others fetch and reuse publisher content at scale, without firing analytics tags, showing ads, or leaving a trace. Our new study unpacks: 👉 How bots now represent +51% of traffic, 👉 why $47 Billion is being lost in advertising revenue from scraped pages, 👉 and the $240m hidden cost US publishers face in bandwidth this year. The invisible AI audience is already here. The only question is whether you measure it. Read the full study here: https://lnkd.in/eqBudvyt

Context isn't everything. Making sure your brand is compatible with where it's being shown & who you're partnering with is just as important. Knowing who they've partnered with in the past, what they've said, and how they've said it has just an impact as the context you server into. Condé Nast Traveler & HolidayPirates Group are both travel guides, but there's a big difference between the two.

Turns out trying to make video content for every article you publish is unsustainable, and no one trusts external content. why? because you’ve no idea how it’s going to align to your brand even though it’s contextually relevant. The blankspace brand-compatibility engine scores brand alignment before a video ever hits the page. Don’t settle for partnerships that don’t align to your brand. In 2025 we still use vanity metrics to buy video, but the IABs 2024 video reclassification may have finally killed off the gamification of programmatic video. Buyers are educating themselves, and CPMs for video are sliding much closer to MPU rates. With less & less human visits, it's never been more important to have a video strategy that is lead by in-stream advertising.

🚀 NEW: Turn your social clips into revenue-ready video with blankspace social+ Publishers spent $3.8 Billion crafting TikTok’s, Reels & Shorts last year - yet most of that value vanished into platform pockets.* Why? Every YouTube embed sends your user (and the ad dollars) straight back to Mountain View. Today we flip the script. blankspace social+ pulls the short-form videos you already post, drops the right clip into the right article, and lets you sell pre-roll, on your domain. Why you should care? 🔻 45 % “platform tax” ***kept by YouTube for every pre-roll impression. 🔻 Manual embeds = no contextual match, no scale. 🔻 Zero first-party data loop — no retargeting, no personalisation. How we’re fixing things: ✅ Single lightweight JS tag (copy-paste via GAM or hard-code). ✅ MostRel™ engine auto-tags & matches every clip. ✅ In-stream monetisation through your existing demand stack. Ready to own your video revenue? 👉 Comment “social+” or email partnerships@blankspace.so for a demo.
