Congratulations to everyone at the BBC and all our partners. This is highly appreciated industry recognition for creative excellence sustained through turbulent times by great teamwork and keeping focused on public service.
On my way back from the Edinburgh TV Festival - Supported by Screen Scotland where the BBC won two of the biggest awards: 1. Public Service Broadcaster of the Year 2. Broadcaster of the Year (a wider award that includes the US streaming services) Myself and Portfolio Editor, Yasemin Rashit (who produced the award winning video) got to collect the trophies onstage from the legend who is Clive Myrie. There were some obvious highlights (did any of you watch The Celebrity Traitors?) but the thing that really did it was the range of excellence from right across the UK: drama, comedy, factual, entertainment, music, children’s, sport, news, great value acquisitions and distinctive commissions. Congratulations to everyone at the BBC who kept focussed on the output and services instead of the noise - not an easy task over the last year. Congratulations also to the wider industry who work with us, production companies, presenters, freelancers, contributors and more, it’s breathtaking to think of how many people contribute to 12 months of output. 🙌
