Novigrad is a location in The Witcher 3. The city and its surroundings are inspired by medieval Amsterdam. In this grand port city, as rich and colorful as it is corrupt, players witness the persecution of mages by an all-powerful cult, while at the same time dealing with underworld figures poised to profit from the ongoing world war. Novigrad is also a free city within Redania, which is not subject to the rule of the kingdom. It is also one of the main ports on the continent and is populated by almost 30,000 inhabitants, which makes it one of the largest city in the North.

Novigrad Information

Once part of Redania, Novigrad now has the status of a free city. It is the world's largest city and, without a doubt, the richest as well. Cradle of the cult of the Eternal Fire, it is now home to the church of the same name. It is ruled officially by the head of the church, referred to as the hierarch, though its underworld crime bosses also have a great deal of say in matters.
