Wrexham have made a £6.5m bid for Sheffield United attacking midfielder Callum O'Hare and are hopeful of getting a deal for the player across the line before Tuesday's transfer deadline, GMS understands.

O'Hare has spent the last two seasons at Bramall Lane after completing a switch from Coventry City in 2024, where he won the League One title, and impressed last term in the Championship, netting nine goals and providing seven assists in 45 appearances.

This productivity and durability have attracted prospective suitors, including Wrexham, who are looking to provide Phil Parkinson with additional offensive firepower before the window slams shut.

It's unclear how willing Sheffield United are to part ways with their star playmaker, although given he's now 28 and is entering the final two years of his contract in South Yorkshire, they may be prepared to cash in on their prized asset.

With less than 48 hours left of the summer window, Wrexham face a race against time to secure a deal for O'Hare.

However, given the shrewdness with which the Red Dragons tend to operate with in the market, it wouldn't be a surprise to see them get this particular transfer over the line.

As shown by the data above, O'Hare has the creative capacity to make a significant difference to Parkinson's squad, which has lacked creative outlets at times since securing promotion to England's second tier.

Wrexham Eyeing Several More Deals Alongside O'Hare

Joe Worrall

GMS understands that O'Hare isn't the only player Wrexham are trying to bring to North Wales before the end of play on Tuesday evening.

Burnley defender Joe Worrall is formalising his £2 million switch to the Racecourse Ground, as GMS exclusively revealed on Sunday. The experienced centre-half will add more depth and quality to Parkinson's backline.

Meanwhile, Wrexham have also had approaches turned down for Ipswich Town's Anis Mehmeti and Millwall's Femi Azeez. Ipswich are willing to sell Mehmeti but, as of Monday lunchtime, the Albanian hasn't given the deal the green light.

As for Azeez, Brighton are the favourites to land the wide man if he departs South London. The Seagulls have already had a £10 million bid rejected for the 25-year-old, but talks are ongoing regarding a potential deal.

Elsewhere, Wrexham also appreciate Crystal Palace's Romain Esse, although it remains to be seen whether the Welsh club will act on this interest and make a move at the eleventh hour.
