Today in The Phrasemaker Game Night, we are going to talk about some of the titles showcased at Gamescom, at least, those we’re most excited about! From the obvious hype for Alien Isolation 2 to the absolute surprise of hearing from the Might & Magic Franchise again!

What’s New From Gamescom 2026?

There are a ton of games announced during the Future Games Show at Gamescom, but if we need to do a quick roundup of the most interesting reveals, here we go:

Worms: Galactic Tactics

The universe has spoken: We needed a new Worms game, and boy, are we excited about it? Yes, we are! Prepare those Holy Hand-Grenades, folks; it’s gonna be a blast! Worms: Galactic Tactics is going to be available on PC and consoles in 2027, and I really hope the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game releases on time.

Wolcen 2

Wolcen 2 is the continuation of the first game, a super grim and dark ARPG that has forged its own identity and is now back for a second round with this spectacular reveal trailer. This game is going to come out in Early Access during the first quarter of 2027, just as its predecessor did. And it did great, so there’s a chance its sequel also plays the part.

Clutch

With vibes of the good old racing franchises like Grid, Juiced, and NFS, Clutch is coming at full speed. Set to be released in Spring 2027, we couldn’t be more hyped to try a new racing franchise in the making.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer

And speaking of racing, Star Wars: Galactic Racer has revealed a lot of new information during Gamescom 2026. This game is coming out on October 6 this year! So, we are super hyped and ready to go back to the merciless world of Pod Racing!

Arizona Sunshine

No one expected a Zombie game for this Gamescom, much less a remake of a VR game taken into traditional PC and Consoles such as Arizona Sunshine. But, hey, beggars can’t be choosers, right? Here’s the deal: The game is coming out at a yet-to-be-defined date, and it’s coming out for all consoles (including Switch 2) and PC.

AION 2

AION 2 is redoubling its efforts to generate impact with its high-end visuals, but will it reach the heights of its predecessor as one of the most popular MMORPGs ever made? At some point, AION had over 7 million subscribers, so I guess we can expect this one to be a heavy hitter. Coming right around the corner, on October 5.

Dungeons & Dragons: Long Rest Tavern

Dungeons & Dragons: Long Rest Tavern is the sort of cozy game I would expect to see from now on: A mixture of an already acclaimed franchise and repeating the formula of games like Stardew Valley and Tales of the Shire. This has the unexpected twist of making you run an inn in the hardcore realms of the D&D universe, with all its intricate ability checks. Expected to be release on Early 2027.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster reveals some gameplay and promises to be one of the most singular Warhammer games made so far. We play as Vinheek, a skaven assassin who wants to become a Deathmaster, and the game has strong side-scroller/ Metroidvania vibes, so it’s an interesting combination. But we will need to wait until 2027 to play it.

What Are We Playing Tonight?

We already finished Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, with some mixed feelings. I loved most of its eerie, sinister vibes, but also found it extremely colorful and distant from the main series. Sure, it works as a spin-off/prequel (of sorts), but at the same time it feels way too disconnected from the main story, almost like an alternate universe. It’s a strange mixture of puzzle, survival horror, and action-adventure that made me think of some old Tomb Raider games was sorts of good. So, what’s next on the menu?

Once Human

After years, I returned to Once Human to try its new Pokemon-like survival sandbox. Seems like the devs thought having deviation battles against other Trainers (Metas) was a great combination. I must say, the idea of shooting the rival trainer with a shotgun while my Pals (haha) knock the rival team out is…interesting, to say the least. Anyways, that’s what I’m playing this weekend!
