Stay curious and grounded to remain relevant in the AI era. 🧠 Reflecting on a thought-provoking #ATxInspire, our CE Cher Pong Ng underscored the value of bringing global expertise to Singapore. Central to this was a fireside chat between IMDA’s Chairman, Russell Tham, and Microsoft’s Vice Chair and President, Brad Smith. Their dialogue on the "#AI frontier" highlights how these high-level exchanges define our path forward in innovation and governance. 🚀 The conversation continues at ATxSummit this May. 🎟️ Secure your spot: https://lnkd.in/gNiDE85S #IMDA #ATxSG Asia Tech x Singapore
#ATxInspire. At IMDA, while we do not organise ATxInspire events regularly and typically time them to coincide with visits by prominent tech personalities, they never fail to deliver. A year-round companion to the ATxSummit, ATxInspire brings together industry, government, and academia to shape the future of tech. This latest edition, held this afternoon at Capital Theatre, is no exception - it featured Brad Smith, Microsoft’s Vice Chair and President, who regularly tackles difficult, high-level policy issues in his public appearances. In his wide-ranging conversation with IMDA’s Chairman, Russell Tham, he shared his insights on how being a general purpose technology like electricity, AI will be transformational but may exacerbate the North-South divide. He also drew a distinction between innovation vs diffusion in AI. He offered some useful advice – public policies should be steered towards building AI infrastructure and investing in skills; while at the personal level, being curious and staying humble would be how we can remain relevant in the age of AI. Gave the audience so much food for thought. Fully expect to dive deeper into these topics at the annual ATxSummit, which is about 1.5 months away. In the meantime, I look forward to reading the book Brad recommended – Open to Work: How to Get Ahead in the Age of AI by Ryan Roslansky and Aneesh Raman from LinkedIn. #IMDA #IMDigitalArchitect #ATxSG #RedefiningTech
