Om oss
Mojang Studios is a Microsoft-owned game studio based in Stockholm (Sweden) and Redmond (WA) with additional locations in London, Shanghai, and Tokyo as well as a partially remote workforce. We created Minecraft, the sandbox video game turned franchise that now includes two more games, novels, board games, apparel, and much more. We believe in the power of play and our mission is to build a better world through our work. At our studios, you’ll meet passionate and welcoming people with the same goal: to create games and products with a positive impact. Four core values guide everything we do: Fuel Passion. Minecraft encourages players to stay sharp and constantly evolve. We mirror that by bringing together enthusiastic people who are eager to innovate in their fields and giving them the resources to reach their goals. We’re passionate about our industry and strive to empower our employees and future generations of gaming professionals. Create Fun. We aim to create fun, enriching experiences for our players, whether they’re playing our games, learning in Minecraft Education, or discovering a new product. Thanks to our incredibly talented creator community and Minecraft Marketplace, the fun is virtually endless and there’s something for everyone in our blocky universe. Celebrate Creativity. Creativity is at the core of Minecraft, whether you’re making art in Creative mode or finding clever ways to get through the night in Survival mode. Fresh ideas, out-of-the-box thinking, and new perspectives are what allows us to evolve the franchise and keep surprising our players after more than a decade of Minecraft. Craft together. Minecraft welcomes everyone because we believe that we’re better together. Our players’ feedback and the work of our community creators have made Minecraft what it is today. To support collaboration in our studios, we’ve built comfy, connected spaces that allow our local and remote teams to work closely together.

On April 30th and May 1st, dozens of volunteers from Minecraft Education and #Mojang Studios hosted hundreds of Seattle-area middle students - and aspiring game developers - at Xbox Game Camp Arcade as part of University of Washington's School of Engineering Discovery Days. The two-day event offered a fun mix of workshops, game play, and career engagement opportunities introducing students to game design, coding, AI literacy, and pathways into the gaming industry, reinforcing #Xbox Game Camp’s mission to empower the next generation of creators. Thank you to all of the staff and volunteers across UW, Xbox, and Mojang Studios who joined together to build a better world through the power of play! #Volunteering #BABW

Excited to team up with Peter Zetterberg and the incredible team at Xbox Game Camp for the University of Washington's Engineering Discovery Days on April 30 – May 1. Mojang Studios volunteers are hosting two days of #Minecraft game play and Minecraft Education classroom sessions for an exciting Xbox Game Camp Arcade experience for middle school students!
As Xbox continues to celebrate 25 years of empowering game developers around the world, we are excited to announce our third Xbox Game Camp Arcade activation — and this time, right here in our home state of Washington! This Thursday and Friday, Xbox Game Camp is sponsoring and running an ambitious event in partnership with Microsoft MakeCode and Minecraft Education at the University of Washington College of Engineering, called Engineering Discovery Days. Engineering Discovery Days at the University of Washington is a two-day event where thousands of 4th–8th grade students explore hands-on STEM activities and engineering exhibits across campus. A huge thank-you to our nearly 100 Microsoft volunteers who are donating their time to inspire and train the next generation of game creators! Learn more here: UW Engineering Discovery Days - https://lnkd.in/grWYEyMp Microsoft MakeCode Arcade - https://lnkd.in/eK9_USrN Minecraft Education - https://lnkd.in/gPuACeuw Xbox Game Camp - www.xbox.com/gamecamp Xbox Game Camp Arcade is a program designed for people under the age of 18 and offers access to tech, knowledge and encouragement in a safe and productive setting. So far, we have been running this program in the US only but hope to grow its reach to international schools and children around the world. Thank you to esteemed Microsoft colleagues Jacqueline Russell, Justin Edwards, Christopher de Haan, Jody Fairbanks, Justin M. Speller, Pav Bhardwaj, and Barrett Livingston for the great teamwork! Special thanks to Phil Spencer and Joslyn Main for kicking us off last year!
