I've liked all the alien films and promethius. Also alien v predators .
And the predator films . It's easy seeing link ups in the films .

I thought it was a brilliant movie & the costumes were amazing as well. I've watch all the Alien movies and can't get enough of them so when is the next one coming.

Liked this movie but felt a bit let down compared to what I was hoping it would be. Some really great scares and the third act is that good stuff. Think it buckles a bit under the weight of trying to member-berry what came before it. One choice for a certain character is baffling and one quote was just terrible.

I enjoyed the resurrection of the original android science officer model. Of course it was a different android but the face was the same. I also was interested in the eggless incubators for the first stage of the xenomorph.

Recently, I've been reading up on the Alien Franchise through Audible... I think the timeline might actually be between Alien 3, and Alien: Resurrection... Which if that's the case, there is a book on Audible called Bishop and it details how his creator got an expanded detail of the autopsy his creation did in Aliens, plus the information received from his creation in Alien 3

Exceeded the hype and then some, great take by Fede Alvarez for certain but I would have love love loved a tie into David's prometheus story but alas all cannot live up to Ridley Scott's most experimental addition to the franchise. Prometheus is perfection but romulus was oh so entertaining!

I enjoyed Alien Romulus, it was well done and entertaining, although it leaned too much on previous Alien films plotwise. In my opinion Prometheus is the best and most original film since Alien.

Fede Álvarez delivers a film in Alien: Romulus that tries to revitalize the franchise but stumbles on several key aspects. While visually appealing and faithful to the oppressive atmosphere characteristic of the saga, the movie lacks a solid narrative and memorable characters.
The script relies too heavily on genre clichés, with bland dialogue and unconvincing decisions from its protagonists. Attempts to explore philosophical themes about survival and human nature remain superficial, leaving the impression that the film tries to tackle more than it can handle.
Álvarez’s direction, which has shone in the past with more intimate horror projects, feels overwhelmed in such an established universe. The moments of tension and terror fail to achieve the desired impact, falling into an uneven rhythm that alternates between dull and predictable.
For the most devoted fans of Alien, this installment is particularly disappointing. In an unfortunate parallel to Disney's mishandling of the Star Wars saga, Romulus feels like a production that prioritizes franchise formulas over true innovation or respect for the original spirit. Rather than expanding the Alien legacy, the film dilutes it, leaving a bitter aftertaste for fans who had expected much more.
Ultimately, Alien: Romulus fails to live up to its heritage, becoming a missed opportunity and a reminder that not all cinematic revivals are necessary.

I went to release day & thier was o ly about 20 off us in the odeon, unfortunately the film is based to much on the original one & a bit boring, so I will be waiting for the sequel to see if they make it back to 🌎 with the alien on board .

I havent seen the movie yet but having read everything that went into it, the negativity is NOT deserved. I would have made Ash a recording on a computer stuck in a loop, but that's me... I remember Max Headroom. Andy is supposed to be a "broken toy" that no one wants to play with. Its All There in the Manual. He reps the Neurodivergent kids that cry for representation in the movies. ASH is a tribute and send off to the actor Ian Holm approved by his widow and kids! I'm guessing the people didnt like that are in their 20s, with living parents and grandparents. Younglings dont think much of Spock's death in WOK, but ask anyone over 50 who lost a brother or sister, and you'll get a different answer. If you havent experienced the death of a loved one, youre not going to appreciate seeing them on screen ONE. LAST. TIME.

Obviously made to appeal to the "teen" audience (even the droid)...and in this day and age of special effects at your disposal, what a disappointment, for that excuse of a "monster" at the end!

This movie was alright I guess, they could've done better tho with the Alien/Engineer Hybrid at the end. They definitely should've added him into the movie either from the beginning or towards the middle not the end it was honestly a bummer!

This movie was done well. I'm a huge fan of Alien movies and this one did justice. Even my husband that hates scary movies said wow that's box hit. Bravo to the actors they made this movie believable. Can't wait for next one.

I'm surprised my favourite director ridley Scott had anything to do with romulus. Storyline had potential but I couldn't watch it, it was so badly directed. Average juvenile British cast with verbose chit chat banal dialogue. Special effects were good but no dramatic impact. Seems to be the norm with uk productions like rings of power and his dark materials suffering from same poor scripting, too busy and lacking impact. Dialogue should be used sparingly and give meaning and dramatic impact not as a filler to pad out the action sequences. If I was Scott I'd ignore romulus completely. Who gave it such good ratings? Because most reviews apart from this site bag it!

I have seen ALL of the Alien films multiple times. Alien Romulus is a great addition. It occurs between Alien and Alien 2. I don’t understand others tying it to Prometheus.

I liked the atmosphere and score/music from Romulus. The actors were fine...no real issues there. I enjoyed the acid scene towards the end. What I didn't like was there were hardly any kills....it's 2024....so I thought it would go a lil harder. The film also overdid the fan service throughout. So many copied things....so many easter eggs....its cool at 1st...but then gets overdone....like the cgi of a familiar android....and the line said at the end by the android that was unnecessary. The final act obviously has the action...but it seems just okay. I liked it....but it was lacking. I think Alien3 had more suspense and kills in a way. I want the dark edge in this. Good film...I was entertained. Alien and Aliens are my favorite. I think if they added more gore and kills and added that Alien3 sprinkle on it....it would have been even better.
