Pokémon Legends: Z-A Mega Dimension is full of surprises, as you never quite know which Pokemon are going to show up in the DLC. In addition to Mega Evolutions, there's also a lot of regular old Pokemon that are ready to add to your 'Dex.

That includes Gimmighoul, who evolves into the string-cheese-looking Gholdengo, from the Scarlet & Violet generation. The best part of this deal is that the only requirement to grab Gimmighoul is to own the DLC.

All It Takes Is A Side Mission

To start the Gimmighoul mission and get your instant Gimmighoul, head to the Centrico Pokémon Center, directly above the dead center of the map in Lumiose City. Run slightly northwest and speak to the NPC standing against a building with a Gimmighoul by their side.

The NPC will gift you a free Gimmighoul, and this process will kick off Side Mission 122, "Let's Golden Goooooo!" which you need to complete to evolve Gimmighoul. That's basically it! Just remember that you need to own the DLC for this quest to appear, as Gimmighoul is technically a Mega Dimension Pokédex character.

How To Evolve Gimmighoul Into Gholdengo In Pokemon Legends: Z-A

You'll Need 999 Coins In Total

To evolve Gimmighoul into Gholdengo, you'll need to get 999 Gimmighoul Coins, then evolve your Gimmighoul from the menu. Gimmighoul Coins are randomly found lying on the ground as shiny items in Hyperspace, so take as many Hyperspace portals as you can to pick them up.

The good news is that the NPC for Side Mission 122 gifts you 413 coins automatically, so you only need 486 coins to complete the evolution mission. Without even looking for them, we had nearly the required amount before even finishing the main story of the DLC: so don't fret, this collectathon isn't nearly as taxing as it is in Scarlet & Violet.
