Alan Ritchson has made a new deal with Prime Video, which seems to hint at his exciting future beyond the Reacher series. Even after three seasons, Prime Video's Reacher has hardly lost steam and continues to be one of the most successful IPs on Prime Video. Its acclaim and commercial value will also potentially increase this year after Reacher season 4 and the upcoming Neagley spin-off’s release.
After Reacher's worldwide success, Alan Ritchson, too, has become more than a household name, and it is hard not to be hyped about what his acting career has in store for him. While Reacher remains his most popular work, Ritchson has gradually been establishing himself as one of Hollywood's most familiar names in the action genre.
Interestingly, this is seemingly just the beginning of his dominance in the action genre. As reports confirm, Ritchson has secured an intriguing deal with Prime Video, which promises that he will see substantial growth even beyond his portrayal of Jack Reacher. One of his action franchises on Netflix has also shown immense potential, paving the way for him to lead multiple action franchises across diverse streaming services.
Alan Ritchson Has Sealed A Pact With Prime Video
After Reacher's massive global success, Alan Ritchson has reportedly a major three-year, first-look television deal with Prime Video to further expand his relationship with the streaming service (via Variety). The pact is structured through Ritchson’s own production banner, Dancing Skeleton, giving Prime Video the exclusive first right to greelight and release any show or movie that comes out of his production company.
While the new deal promises that we will potentially see more of Alan Ritchson in action movie and TV projects, it also seems to secure Reacher's future. Ahead of season 4's premiere, Prime Video has already renewed Reacher for season 5. If all goes well for the franchise, even its upcoming Neagley spinoff will get more installments in the future.
Alan Ritchson is set to appear in both Reacher season 4 and the Neagley spinoff, which are expected to premiere in 2026. After his new extended partnership with Prime Video, Ritchson himself confirmed that "Reacher is just the beginning," hinting that he has many more ambitious projects in mind for himself and his production company.
“With the success of ‘Reacher’ and our upcoming spinoff ‘Neagley,’ it felt like a natural next step to continue our partnership with Prime Video as we focus on bringing top-tier episodic content to life. Reacher is just the beginning.”
Only time will tell what the future holds for the actor. However, his new deal with Prime Video makes his career trajectory seem even more exciting. What makes his future as an actor even more fascinating is that Prime Video is not the only streaming service that will help him continue his reign as an action star.
His biggest Netflix movie from this year has also been officially greenlit for a sequel, which potentially gives him two major action franchises.
Ritchson Now Has Ambitious Upcoming Projects With Both Prime Video & Netflix
War Machine became a smash hit soon after it landed on Netflix. While its critical reception was fairly lukewarm, the movie's linear and slam-bang portrayal of an aspiring Ranger's battle against an alien robot left many viewers enthralled. After wrapping its story, War Machine's ending also paved the way for a potential sequel with a cliffhanger.
After the movie's commercial success, Netflix has reportedly decided to follow up the movie with a sequel. Alan Ritchson will also seemingly reprise his role as the movie's central military character, giving him the opportunity to channel his Jack Reacher energy in yet another role.
Apart from Reacher's future seasons and War Machine's sequel, Ritchson will also star in several other flicks, like Runner, The Man with the Bag, and Counting Miracles. These upcoming projects will ensure that, other than being recognized for playing the lead in Prime Video's Reacher, Alan Ritchson will also grow from strength to strength as a versatile actor with his feet dipped in diverse genres.
