The conversations at Prebid Ascent made one thing clear — the industry is starting to question how programmatic should actually work. Our CPO, Olga Zharuk, joined a discussion on agentic workflows, and a few themes kept coming up. Agentic advertising is gaining traction on the sell side, with sales agents becoming a real layer for deal-making and inventory packaging. At the same time, buyer-side agents are still an open question — how demand forms there and how interaction will work is not yet clear. There’s also a clear move toward more independent infrastructure. More teams are exploring how to control auction logic and demand routing directly, instead of relying fully on GAM. Feels like the focus is shifting from optimizing setups to owning how they actually work.
