Unit Printer Guide | Pragmata Wiki

From Pragmata Wiki

Weapons, Gear, Hacks, and Attachments in Pragmata are core progression systems that expand combat options for Hugh and Diana. Through the Unit Printer found in the Shelter, players can unlock new firearms, tactical tools, hacks, passive upgrades, and powerful attachments to survive increasingly dangerous encounters.

As the story progresses, new categories and stronger options become available, allowing players to customize their preferred combat style.

How the Unit Printer Works

The Unit Printer is a fabrication terminal located inside the Shelter. It uses collected materials and resources to manufacture new combat tools and upgrades.

Players can unlock:

  • Weapons
  • Hacking Nodes
  • Attachments
  • Upgrades

Additional entries are unlocked through story progression and exploration.

Progression in Pragmata is closely tied to the technology available inside the Shelter. As players move through each lunar sector, they will uncover experimental weapons, combat tools, hacks, and upgrade components. Discovering these items adds their schematics to the Shelter’s fabrication system, allowing them to be recreated permanently once the necessary materials have been gathered.

The device responsible for this process is the Unit Printer, one of the most important systems in the game. It allows players to build stronger loadouts, improve combat options, and keep pace with the increasing danger found deeper into the Moon.

When the Unit Printer Becomes Available

The Unit Printer is introduced shortly after Hugh and Diana arrive at the Shelter. While it can be accessed early, its usefulness expands once players begin exploring the Solar Power Plant, the first major sector where additional gear starts appearing regularly.

From that point onward, every new area may contain fresh equipment to test and unlock. Thorough exploration is worthwhile, since many upgrades are hidden off the main path.

Printing Permanent Equipment

Weapons and tools found during missions are not automatically added to your permanent inventory. To use them freely in future expeditions, they must first be manufactured through the Unit Printer.

This means that even if a weapon has been used during exploration, it will not appear in your regular loadout until it has been properly printed at the Shelter.

Hugh always retains access to his default energy sidearm, which automatically restores itself over time. Diana’s hacking systems also remain available and can become more powerful through upgrades. However, relying only on starter tools will make later battles far more difficult.

Improving Existing Gear

The Unit Printer is not limited to crafting new equipment. Existing blueprints can also be upgraded to improve performance.

Depending on the item, upgrades may raise weapon damage, strengthen hacking output, improve utility effects, or provide other combat advantages. Each item includes a preview of future upgrade levels, helping players decide where to spend resources.

Required Resources

Most fabrication and upgrades use Lunafilament, the main material currency earned throughout the game.

Higher-end upgrades often introduce Pure Lunum, especially for stronger Abilities and premium Attachments. In later stages, many projects require both resources, making careful resource management increasingly important.

Equipping New Loadouts

Once gear has been printed, it can be selected from the loadout menu near the Shelter tram before beginning a mission. Some universal upgrades and passive effects apply automatically once unlocked.

Unlocking More Blueprints

New fabrication options become available through continued progression. Players can expand the Unit Printer by:

  • Defeating sector bosses to raise Shelter Level
  • Locating hidden Data Shards during exploration

Because Data Shards are scattered across many sectors, regular exploration is one of the best ways to expand available upgrades.

Blueprint and Upgrades

The sections below contain complete tables for every Unit Printer category, including crafting costs, upgrade prices, and the bonuses granted at each level.

If an item receives the same upgrade multiple times, those bonuses stack. For example, repeated Attack upgrades continue increasing total damage rather than replacing the previous boost.

Weapons are Hugh’s primary means of offense. Each firearm offers different strengths depending on range, power, and handling.
