Poland’s prosperity increasingly flows through the north. Our ports are the gateways through which Polish industrial products and food reach global markets, while critical raw materials and production inputs enter the country, keeping our economy and manufacturing base running. The Black Sea theatre has demonstrated that the maritime domain is becoming a central arena of technological competition and national security. The Baltic Sea basin is a key operating area within the North-Eastern Corridor of NATO’s eastern flank. In this environment, speed, distributed operations, resilience and the ability to protect critical infrastructure will increasingly determine strategic advantage. We invested in REGENT because Seaglider technology can create a durable operational advantage in confined and contested littoral waters supporting rapid response, logistics and the protection of critical infrastructure. At the same time, it offers a compelling alternative for fast civilian transport across regions shaped by archipelagos, peninsulas and fjords throughout Northern Europe. At Balnord, we are placing particular emphasis on rebuilding European manufacturing capacity, especially in industrial dual-use sectors. Poland already has a globally competitive industrial base in the production and export of advanced boats, yachts and catamarans. We believe this gives Poland the foundations to become a European hub for the manufacturing, integration and servicing of next-generation Seagliders for both civilian operators and the defence industry. The round was co-led by Mare Liberum and AE Ventures, with debt capital provided by Erebor Bank, bringing REGENT’s total funding to more than $340 million. The financing will accelerate the company’s transition from development to full-scale manufacturing of its Seaglider™ vessels. REGENT is partnering with Balnord in Poland to address urgent defense requirements in the Baltic Sea and Northern Europe. The company has already completed its 255,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Rhode Island and is scaling towards major commercial and defense milestones. Its momentum includes growing military interest, an expanded US Marine Corps contract and a global commercial order book spanning six continents. Securing critical data from every phase of return, before splashdown and recovery, significantly reduces operational risk. We fly payloads worth millions in a spacecraft built to be recovered without delay: the vehicle back to ATMOS, the payloads back to our customers. We have signed an MoU with Astrolight to demonstrate an optical link between PHOENIX and a satellite in orbit. Up to 2.5 Gbps, through in-orbit operations and into re-entry. Planned for 2027. Laser links are narrow and directional. That makes them fundamentally harder to jam, intercept or detect than conventional RF links. For anyone returning sensitive hardware and payloads with precision, that is an operational priority. For defence missions, this becomes a critical element of the operation. A narrow optical beam does not announce itself the way traditional RF telemetry does. When returning sensitive hardware, reducing the communications signature of the operation is part of protecting the mission. Our aim is reliable, secure re-entry and recovery operations for Europe. In your family life? In what do you build? Thanks to an amazing person, Ewa A. Treitz, I once decided to join Kauffman Fellows. That was back in mid-June 2017. During the two-year program, I gained a much deeper understanding of the VC industry, built a truly global network, but most importantly, I realized something much bigger! I needed to build my own lifestyle!!! Today, I know that, for me, happiness means building things that matter. For my family. For my local community. For the venture market. For my country. For the future of all of us. Building gives me a huge amount of happiness. But even more happiness comes from building together with people of real value, people with whom I can go through life, not just through business. With Jarek Pilarczyk, we were partners and entrepreneurs. Together, we built a business TAG at a time when Polish IT was powered by outsourcing. We sold that company to a Norwegian partner. Later, with Jarek, we built another business, Skyrise, this time in a founder-investor relationship. We sold that company to a Finnish partner (CoC 18x). We have been building Balnord together as partners for the past two years. Jarek and I have been friends for more than 15 years. He was also there at my Kauffman Fellows graduation. My wife could not travel with me, and Jarek was the second person I wanted by my side on that very special day. Today, I feel enormous happiness knowing that Jarek Pilarczyk is joining the Kauffman Fellows family. At Balnord, we turn our founders into our LPs. And one day, we will turn our GPs into our LPs too. This is not just business. This is a life journey. This is a lifestyle.

We backed the company early, believing that Polish 🇵🇱 deep tech can build globally competitive solutions for next-generation connectivity. Today, Microamp is moving from R&D into real commercial deployment. This is particularly important because Microamp’s 5G/mmWave technology addresses strategic areas across the defense sector, where the company has already signed two agreements with two Ministries of Defense and is working with NATO DIANA , as well as civil and commercial deployments in critical infrastructure. This is exactly the kind of technology Europe 🇪🇺 needs more of sovereign, scalable, and ready for both civilian and dual-use applications. Kowalik udostępnił(a) toWe’re excited to share a closer look at one of our latest optical ground station installations - the Holomondas Optical Ground Station in Greece, developed together with European Space Agency - ESA and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). The station will support the in-orbit demonstration and validation of high-speed, secure space-to-Earth laser communication links for the Greek CubeSat missions PeakSat and ERMIS-3. For this project, Astrolight delivered both segments of the optical link - the Holomondas optical ground station and the ATLAS-1 laser communication terminals onboard the satellites - enabling a fully integrated end-to-end optical communication system. Potrzebne są silne przedsiębiorstwa, zdolności produkcyjne, nowoczesne technologie, infrastruktura, łańcuchy dostaw i dostęp do kapitału. Wielokrotnie podkreślałem, że dual-use rozumiem szerzej niż tylko jako produkty podwójnego zastosowania. To przede wszystkim przedsiębiorcy, którzy potrafią łączyć działalność cywilną z produkcją na potrzeby obronności. Ich przewagą jest doświadczenie, zaplecze produkcyjne i umiejętność szybkiego dostosowania się do nowych potrzeb. W dzisiejszej Rzeczpospolita rozmawiamy o tym, jak finansować rozwój takich firm, dlaczego obok kapitału potrzebujemy przewidywalności zamówień oraz jak sprawić, by rosnące wydatki na bezpieczeństwo wzmacniały polskie przedsiębiorstwa i krajowe łańcuchy dostaw. Kowalik polecił(a) toChina LandSpace Reusable Rocket First Stage Landing after Satellite Launch FriendsofNASA.org:🚀China achieved its first recovery of a rocket's first stage on land after launching and recovering part of the Zhuque-3 reusable rocket on Wednesday morning, Aug. 19, 2026. The Landspace Zhuque-3 (ZQ-3) Y2 rocket blasted off at 07:35 (Beijing Time) from the Dongfeng Commercial Space Innovation Pilot Zone in northwest China, placing the Honghu03 satellite into its designated orbit. The flight mission was a complete success. This mission followed the successful sea-based net recovery of the China Long March-10B rocket's first stage on July 10. Today marked China's first successful land-based controlled recovery of a rocket's first stage using deployable landing legs, highlighting a major breakthrough in the country's reusable rocket technology. Approximately 137 seconds after lift-off, the first and second stages separated. The second stage continued its flight and successfully delivered the Honghu 03 satellite, independently developed by Hongqing Technology, into its assigned orbit. At approximately 07:41, the first stage performed a successful soft touchdown at the LandSpace Landing Site#1 in Minqin County, Gansu Province, following the planned trajectory. The Landspace ZhuQue-3 Y2 reusable launch vehicle achieved full success in orbital insertion and first-stage recovery with the power of its nine TQ-12A engines. 🎉This is China's first successful flight verification of land recovery for the first stage of a reusable launch vehicle, as well as its first successful verification of a landing using deployable landing legs. The Honghu 03 satellite will trial its unfoldable thermal radiator, sizeable solar panels, electric propulsion system, and a 100-gigabit optical laser link ahead of mass production for connectivity constellations. This Landspace mission was the 2nd for the partially reusable Zhuque-3, and LandSpace’s 10th orbital launch attempt in the company’s history. This was also the 59th launch from China in 2026.
