PCalc is the powerful choice for scientists, engineers, students, programmers, or indeed anybody looking for a feature rich calculator. It includes an optional RPN mode and multi-line display, a choice of button layouts, an extensive set of unit conversions and constants, a paper tape, multiple undo and redo, engineering and scientific notation, as well as support for hexadecimal, octal, and binary calculations.PCalc Lite is a fully functional and free taste of our very popular scientific calculator. It includes an optional RPN mode, multiple undo and redo, unit conversions and constants, as well as two stylish themes and our highly praised design. A great choice for your new iPad!
If you like what you see, the full version has many more settings and themes, a paper tape, engineering and scientific notation, and full support for hexadecimal, octal, and binary calculations. You can also now purchase extra features directly from inside PCalc Lite. Buy them individually, or buy everything.
Includes an Apple Watch app, so you can calculate on your wrist!
There are several “full feature” calculators in the App Store, and this is one of them. PCalc is an excellent choice, if you want a calculator that does number manipulation, this may be the one for you. If you need graphing, or ability to solve quadratic equations, you need to look elsewhere. What I’d like to see is a user manual as part of the app, not just a link to an online location. Also, if you do buy the packs, your icon is indistinguishable from the free version. I have all the packs, except the programmer pack (those days are in the distant past for me). There should be a difference in appearance and name - perhaps you can call it PCalc Plus, instead of PCalc Lite, and add the “+” symbol to the icon? Finally, do the currency conversions get automatically updated? If so, how often? If no, how do you update manually?
Literally bought for the widget and they took it away
Techie Trucker
Used for years. Even tipped a few times. Imagine my surprise when I updated the phone today and the one thing I bought it for no longer existed. Edit: Apparently that’s and iOS 18 issue as they took away legacy widgets. Developer responded and told me they haven’t updated to the new style widgets because of typing lag using them. Having downloaded another highly rated calculator that uses the new style widgets, I can see what they are talking about. It’s not a great experience.
Developer Response
Yes, Apple removed all the old style widgets in iOS 18.We tried last year to build a new style widget, and it didn't work well enough for a properly interactive widget. It was quite slow to enter numbers, and if you typed too fast, the system would open up the main app because of bugs in the widget support. It's still something we would like to do, but it's not going to be anywhere as good as the existing widget. We will do what we can!
Disappointed

I got this to replace the recently butchered Apple calculator. I’d been adding figures and copying and pasting totals into a running list for years, when suddenly the Apple calculator would only paste a seven digit number in scientific notation. Useless, in my world. So I got this app, but it had no commas between the thousands. I dug deeper and discovered a 99 cent “Power Pack” that purported to add thousand separators to the system. So I bought it. Well, it adds them to the calculator display, but if you copy and paste a total, they’re not there. So I’m out a buck and still have to futz with my totals to keep my years-long list consistent. Frustrating.

You want to see the real potential of mobile device software? You want to see superior visual aesthetics? Superior app functionality? Superbly intuitive human interface design? Exemplary respect for the user, including first-rate customer support? All of that in single app? Then download p-calc right now, and for God’s sake, pay the man. He’s a very rare talent indeed, and we’d all be the poorer if he decided to go somewhere else to make a living.
