  • Since its launch in 2024, Nordic’s nRF54L Series has been a significant step forward. It offers customers expanded Bluetooth capabilities, twice the processing power, more efficiency, and less power consumption than the preceding nRF52 Series. All of this enables Nordic’s customers to design and build the most comprehensive end-products for their customers. And it hasn’t stopped there. “We’re rapidly growing the nRF54L Series to give a broad selection of devices that customers can choose the right size device for their applications,” explains Sam Presley. He took a few moments to speak with Paweł K. at embedded world Exhibition&Conference on: - The flagship nRF54LM20A & nRF54LM20B, with available development kits bringing more memory and the option of an integrated Axon NPU - The nRF54LV10, which supports low-supply voltage, making it perfect for biosensors and wearable medical applications - The nRF54LS05A/nRF54LS05B, Nordic’s new entry-level SoCs for end-products that don’t need all the nRF54L Series’ unique benefits

  • It’s been two weeks since embedded world Exhibition&Conference, but the experience is still fresh in our minds. The event brought the global embedded community together in Nuremberg, and we’re grateful we had the chance to connect with peers, customers, and innovators across the industry. Among them was Novel Bits, Bluetooth LE education resource and Nordic’s official training partner. Our Joel Kauppo caught up with NovelBits Founder, Mohammad Afaneh, to talk about the current state and trends in Bluetooth and IoT

  • We are pleased to share Nordic Semiconductor’s 2025 annual report, now available on Nordic Semiconductor’s Investor Relation: https://lnkd.in/e--K9Tvj Overall, 2025 has been quite the year for us. We made clear operational, strategic, and financial progress, staying firmly on track with our long‑term ambitions. Additionally, we accelerated the renewal of our product portfolio, expanding the nRF54 Series to seven variants with major gains in performance, power efficiency, and edge AI. Customer adoption is growing rapidly, setting the stage for the next phase of our revenue engine. We also advanced our long‑range cellular portfolio with the nRF9151 and added satellite/NTN capabilities, opening new global IoT opportunities. And with the newly released nRF93M1 and the upcoming nRF92 Series, we’re gearing up for even greater scale. Our PMIC lineup continues to grow, and later this year we’ll introduce the nRF71 Series, strengthening our Wi‑Fi offering on a cost‑efficient 22nm platform. Finally, we completed our full-service offering by acquiring Memfault to launch our chip-to-cloud lifecycle management solution, nRF Cloud powered by Memfault. Furthermore, we have laid the groundwork for our customers to prepare for the upcoming EU Cyber Resilience Act with our newly offered, one-time, upfront FOTA and device management license.  For more information, read through our full annual report.

  • Environmental intelligence firm Sensereo recently released its Matter over Thread smart smoke detector, the MS-1, leveraging Nordic’s nRF52840 SoC. As a result, the smart smoke detector can operate effortlessly across all leading smart home platforms, including Apple Home, Samsung SmartThings, Homey, and Home Assistant. Plus, it’s also the world’s first Matter over Thread smoke detector with a unique dual-battery system that keeps core safety functions isolated from smart safety features. With both a sealed and a replaceable battery, the smart smoke detector not only lasts for years but also operates with ultra-low power consumption, providing continuous protection for the customer. “We chose Nordic because of the nRF52840 SoC’s proven track record in certified, long lifecycle products,” explains Roy Huaitao Chen, Founder and CEO at Sensereo. “It offers excellent low power performance and strong radio sensitivity and reliability for Thread networking, and the Arm Cortex-M4 CPU is well suited to real-time, safety-critical applications.” Read more about it on the Nordic Semiconductor news page

Edge AI is redefining how intelligence is deployed. Rather than choosing between cloud and device, engineers now design across a continuum of compute, from milliwatt sensing hubs to heterogeneous SoCs with dedicated NPUs. The 2026 Edge Technology report, published on Wevolver, explores the architectures making that shift possible: Small Language Models, distillation workflows, activation-aware quantization, multimodal transformers, event-based vision, and embodied AI systems operating under safety constraints. If you’re working on embedded AI, mobile SoCs, robotics platforms, or industrial systems, this is a technical walkthrough of what actually makes on-device generative AI feasible today. The report is published in partnership with the Edge AI Foundation, and sponsored by Edge Impulse, Murata, Synaptics, Synopsys, MIPS, Nordic Semiconductor, Arduino, and Harwin. • What better way to close out embedded world Exhibition&Conference than by going home with a prize? The nRF54LM20B SoC – Nordic’s ultra-low-power, large-memory wireless SoC with integrated Axon NPU – was selected as a winner in this year’s Embedded World “Best in Show” Award from Embedded Computing Design. The SoC was singled out from a huge number of entries for its design excellence, relative performance, and market impact. “We are thrilled to be recognized for this award,” says Øyvind Strøm. “By recognizing the benefit of integrating powerful intelligence directly onto a device, we are empowering developers to create a new generation of highly effective products”. Thank you Embedded Computing Design, for this award and the embedded world Exhibition&Conference for a productive week in Nuremberg. Read more about it on the Nordic Semiconductor news page We can't wait until next year. We'll see you then.

  • nRF Cloud leads the way on CRA compliance with FOTA for life   Day three of embedded world Exhibition&Conference is all about the services.   Starting today, nRF Cloud offers the industry's first lifetime flat-rate Firmware Over-The-Air (FOTA) solution. This one-time, upfront license makes FOTA updates and device management available across your entire fleet of devices – for life.   No recurring cloud fees. No custom infrastructure to build and maintain. Just a single, competitively-priced fee that covers secure firmware updates for the life of your products.   Why upfront FOTA for life? Here's why: From 2027, a secure FOTA system is a requirement for complying with the upcoming EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).    Nordic's chip-to-cloud stack makes it easier for you to get towards CRA compliance with a secure and reliable FOTA system ready right out of the box. nRF Cloud is already seamlessly integrated directly into the nRF Connect SDK and available across Nordic's full portfolio of low-power wireless SoCs. With this new upfront FOTA-for-life offering, manufacturers can go from zero to a production-ready FOTA system in minutes, backed by a platform already proven on tens of millions of devices in the field.   Learn more about the new FOTA-for-life offering at on our website, and – if you're at #EW26 – come see us at Hall 4A, Booth 310 to talk about it.   #EW2026 #CyberResilienceAct #NordicSemiconductor #nRFCloud #Memfault
