Sverrir Á. Berg shared thisStill trying to wrap my head around the awesome launch of Subnautica 2. We sold 4M+ copies in the first week! We peaked at approximately 650k concurrent users and a lot more players are using the multiplayer feature I worked with my team on than we anticipated. We have only indicated what platforms are currently planned for Early Access. Plans change and later releases will definitely add support for more platforms!

Founded in 2024 by three engineers and a lawyer, Jónsbók launched its first product in Iceland last year and has already expanded into Finland and Central and Eastern Europe. Their edge: general AI models aren't built for the nuances of local law, Jónsbók is, combining AI with jurisdiction specific legal sources to deliver more accurate research than large general purpose models. We led this round to help the team accelerate product development and scale into new markets. It's been a pleasure backing a team with this much technical depth and execution discipline — they've built real traction with almost no outside capital until now. We're having so much fun making it, it's a really fun coop experience where you play as 4 robots rebuilding an abandoned space colony, hauling weird resources around in physics-based vehicles. We've put together a first pass Steam page to start gathering wishlists! Take a look at a very early preview. We are early in production but want to start gathering feedback from playtests etc, and show a game go through production. Our new game studio is called 'Gimbal Lock Games'. But for anyone that is slightly familiar with what a data center does you know that you don’t get far without power. When I moved to Spain, that was my first job: locking in the energy. Together with Cuerva and their 85 years in the business, we’ve secured large-scale, renewable-rich capacity in one of Granada’s most competitive energy positions, on a grid built for the redundancy mission critical digital infrastructure needs. We chose Andalusia and specifically Granada on purpose: a forward-looking municipal partner, a world-class ecosystem around the University of Granada, and an energy story that lets us build the right way from day one. Berg liked thisThree years since I last posted in my newsletter "Decarbonized IT Stack." it has been dormant because the next steps were being planned and now it's time to revive it to reveal the result of 3 years silent contemplation (those that know me know that it was not exactly silent). Back then I was the guy telling everyone to build in the Nordics, often referred to as the data center utopia back then. Now I'm building in southern Spain...Awkward... So the comeback edition tackles it head-on: "Sustainability by Default in the Nordics. In Spain It's a Differentiator." Last week we broke ground on SP01 in Escuzar, Granada. Holding a shiny shovel, wearing a suit and a hard hat in front of a very large bulldozer is a strange way to feel proud, but here we are! The real reason I'm proud has nothing to do with the shovel or the hard hat. It's this team. Building Alto Infrastructure with them feels a lot like the best days at atNorth - and my goal is the same as it was then: build a company people are proud to say they worked at, I am very proud to say that I am ex-atNorth. Pretty sure we're doing it again here.
