Video Editing should be FREE.. --- reflection of a recent viral case in Indonesia. A videographer, Amsal Sitepu, got caught in a corruption case over “overpriced” video production for a government project. One of the officials said, "editing should be free". And it highlights a bigger issue… Creative work is being judged like commodities. I’ve pitched hundreds of video projects over the years. And this case hit a nerve. Obviously many creatives in Indonesia brought up this issues too. Because it exposes something many people outside the creative industry don’t fully understand. Creative & intellectual work cannot be compared purely by cost. On paper, two vendors can both say: “Corporate video production” But in reality, they are not selling the same thing. One is executing instructions. One is shaping the idea. One is just delivering footage. One is taking responsibility for the outcome. Same label. Completely different value. When I was running my agency, I’ve seen this many times. Clients line up 3 quotes and try to compare them side by side. It looks logical. But it’s flawed. Because creative pricing is not just about: duration equipment numbers of items being delivered. Those are the visible parts. What you’re really paying for is: thinking experience craftmanship and most importantly… risk The ability to say: “We’ve done this before. We know what works. We’ll get you there.” And here’s the uncomfortable truth. Creative pricing is… opaque. Not because people are trying to hide something. But because you can’t neatly itemise: 10 years of experience or the instinct to know what idea will land Things that may break in the process. Procurement systems are built to compare numbers. Creative work is built on outcomes. So when you force one into the other… You get confusion. And cases like this. After 600+ projects, here’s what I’ve learned: You’re not paying for a video. You’re paying for the probability of success. But someone who helps structure creative work into systems that: make sense to businesses and still respect the nature of creativity Because bridging that gap… is where the real value is now. If you’re building an in-house team or working with creatives, this is something worth understanding early. It will save you a lot of wrong decisions. PRD in hand. Rejection email in inbox. The team was looking for a demo. That’s the shift. Prototypes are becoming the starting point. They’re how product thinking shows up and earns trust. Docs still matter. They just follow something real enough to test, explore, and evolve. But even the best prototype collapses without a solid foundation. That’s where writing still plays a critical role. Well-structured PRDs aren’t disappearing. They’re becoming launchpads for interactive exploration. Tools like ChatPRD help teams turn rough thinking into usable direction, quickly enough to build while the idea is still fresh. In the background, something deeper is taking shape. AI is supercharging every phase of the product lifecycle. From discovery to delivery and iteration, intelligent systems are showing up as digital teammates. PMs are now building with them. And learning how to conduct them. Some will use AI to tidy up a roadmap. Others will use it to surface patterns from interviews, generate testable prototypes, or coordinate feature releases. This is why product sense and judgment matter more than ever. AI can generate, simulate, and ship. But it can’t tell you what’s worth building. For tech leaders, this means rethinking: → How teams shape product direction → What hiring practices are designed to reveal → Whether your culture values progress through writing or through building Teams that embrace this shift will learn faster, hire better, and build with more confidence. I asked ChatGPT to write a PRD for my feature. It took 30 seconds. It was better than mine. That's when I realized: I've been doing this job wrong. Here's what nobody tells you about being a PM in 2026: If your job is only writing documents, you don't have a job. AI writes specs now. Better than you. Faster than you. For free. So what's left? Working like a data scientist (when you need to understand the reason behind the numbers) Working like a designer (when you need to feel what's right) Working like an engineer (when you need to build and prototype) On top of that add in user empathy and strategic thinking I'm 4 weeks into my PM internship at HeyGen. I've put together 3 SQL tables to analyze growth metrics. I've vibe-coded 4 prototypes. I've watched countless user sessions. I've done 3 user interviews. I've shipped 2 initiatives. And I've learned more in 4 weeks at HeyGen than I did in 4 years of school. The truth I learned from this fast growing startup is: The PMs who win in the next 5 years won't be the best writers. n8n life cycle… Me first time using n8n: wow this is an awesome tool, why is it so underrated? anyways let me integrate this into my workflow. after checking prices: oops €50 is too much. after watching some videos and after finding alternatives, let me host it myself… railway/hostinger server is just $5. after realizing: it’s not really $5 when you have traffic… anyways continuing. then after a couple of months realizing open-source n8n is not self-sustainable. it needs maintenance or it stops working (and you only realize when your whole workflow breaks). then quickly trying to do updates and finally realizing… a simple cloud function would have done this much more efficiently, and most importantly, running that function is super cheap, almost zero cost. then switching back to my cloud funtion. my recommendation: n8n is fantastic to understand backend architecture visually and to test your ideas. but using it for production eats your revenue. and if you are a small team, hosting it yourself can turn into a nightmare anytime.

Thoughts from my journey as a Business Developer in Web3 At MEXC, my role is to bring business to the exchange by onboarding KOL's who promote our platform to their communities. In return, we provide the right ecosystem and support for their growth. Now, while this is a very common practice across the industry, I’ve started noticing a clear pattern: 👉 Big KOLs often demand huge upfront payments but end up delivering little to no results. Many times, 80% of them only work with upfront deals and after payment, the promised results rarely match expectations. 👉 On the other hand, Micro KOLs tend to value genuine partnerships. They deliver quality results, bring volume, and create real impact for the platform. This raises an important question for the Web3 marketing space: 💡 Why is the norm still "Pay first, work later"? In most industries, it’s performance-first, then payment. Yet in Web3, it feels like brands are forced to risk upfront payments, often leading to disappointments or even scams. I strongly believe it’s time for a shift in the market no upfronts for marketing activities. Let’s move towards a more performance-driven model where value comes first, and rewards follow. Soft skills diary: Manipulation Management and how to manage the manipulation (this post refers both to men and women management, without any differences in the approach because of gender) I have worked with manipulative personas at different work places. All of them very individualistic and original in manipulation. However, all of them have this one specific characteristic that is playing numb or actually being numb. Numb person is a friend with the Devil. He/She smiles, never shows the real emotions because MONEY AND PRESTIGE have taken over the real human emotions so much, they wont feel their own sentiments anymore. Numb managers would say something like: “Nazrin, are you sure you are ok, because I dont understand what you mean?!” Our manager at one of the projects at one of my previous jobs, once acted exactly like that and also used mansplaining as if managing ladies in a team is so easy with simple “please go to your rooms, ladies”, although we came to see him in order to discuss a joint project between departments. I used to get angry with the situation, but also I never cared too much because life shows how boomerang works beautifully on all levels. Managers wont stop manipulating before we stop reacting. Once I turned the reaction off and simply understood that I can work towards better management and actually escape reporting to him, my work has actually became fruitful and enjoyable. What happened to the manager is as easy as he got fired and moved to another position, lower than his. However, these manipulating managers are quite dependant on money and prestige, so their values are so low, nothing serves as a lesson to them. There are always solutions: trying to ignore wholeheartedly and move to the higher management to report about situation like this. Moving to a better job if you feel like there’s nothing useful to be delivered at the current one.

So you’re not shocked later and already have backup plans ready 😌 ✨ From Mas Teofilus Anugrahta Bangun : Communication → you gotta explain things clearly. To your team, to clients, even to that one guy who’s always “sorry, can you repeat?” 😭 Bad communication = misunderstanding = project chaos. Simple math. Negotiation → client wants A, your team can only do B, deadline is screaming… you’re stuck in the middle. So yeah, you need to find that “okay let’s all survive this” solution 😭✋ Being a Project Manager is like: a little bit leader 🤝 a little bit fortune teller 🔮 a little bit peace maker 🕊️ (no the math doesn’t make sense, just like last minute revisions 😌) Tiring? yes. Gamification as a Marketing Tool? One thing I’ve learned — people don’t quit your product because they hate it. They quit because they get bored. Dalam dunia EdTech SaaS, retention bukan sekadar tentang feature, tapi tentang bagaimana kita buat pengguna care enough to come back. And honestly, the strongest driver I’ve seen so far is GAMIFICATION. Gamification ni bukan benda “fun-fun” semata — it’s psychology. It gives that small dopamine rush setiap kali pelajar menang badge, habiskan quiz, atau naik leaderboard. Dalam marketing, this is gold. Because at the end of the day, we’re not just selling a product; we’re selling the feeling of progress and achievement. It’s how you turn learning into something that feels rewarding.
