Seth or Shrine Guardian Seth is a Boss in Hollow Knight Silksong. Shrine Guardian Seth is another powerful foe that Hornet will encounter and must fight as she traverses the regions of Shellwood in the kingdom of Pharloom. Shrine Guardian Seth is a unique character, wherein you will notice that his appearance is like that of an ant, and he also wields a pin weapon and a cymbal-like shield. Seth is an ancient guardian and claims that he has been chosen by the Voice. Seth moves with incredible speed, imbued with incredible strength and stamina, which allows him to absorb attacks with his shield and lunge forward to strike with his pin weapon.

Where to Find Shrine Guardian Seth in Hollow Knight Silksong

• Location: Shellwood [Silksong Map]
• Exclusive boss encounter in Act 3.
• Head to Underworks Bench (Southwest)[Silksong Map], from the bench head left until you find the second exit. Look for the hanging platform and destroy its chains to break the ground below. This will open the pathway that will lead to the Shrine Guardian Seth location.

Shrine Guardian Seth HK Silksong Fight Strategy

Seth is like an ancient guard who claims that he was chosen by the Voice. Seth also has incredible speed, strength, and stamina, which allows him to absorb attacks using his shield and strike his enemies with powerful attacks using his pin weapon. These characteristics make him very dangerous, especially in close combat.

Shrine Guardan Seth uses several powerful attacks that are deadly and powerful. Seth will maximize his shield and pin weapon for a defensive approach and close combat fights. One of the several attacks that Seth uses is when he instantly jumps into the air, and he tries to lunge at you using his cymbal-like shield. This attack is a deadly one, so make sure to avoid getting caught by this attack to avoid taking massive damage to your silk health.

Another type of attack that Seth uses is a melee attack, wherein he utilizes his pin weapon to inflict damage to your health. This melee attack is composed of a series of slash attacks, and sometimes, Seth will just try to pin his weapon directly to you. You can try to block these melee attacks, however, it takes perfect timing to block them accurately. It is highly advisable to just avoid them by using your dash and sprint ability.

Seth also takes advantage of using his shield as his weapon. Seth will throw his shield towards your position and will immediately blink at it, and then follow up with some melee attacks. He also uses his shield weapon as a throwable, wherein the shield will bounce on the walls, and if you are caught, you will take damage from this attack. For you to avoid taking damage, make sure to watch where the shield bounces and then carefully move away from the direction of the bounce.

Seth also performs a spinning attack, in which he will try to slash you first with his pin, and afterwards, he will instantly perform a deadly spinning attack. To avoid taking damage from this attack, avoid jumping once he spins.

During Seth's second phase, his attacks will become faster and more powerful. In the second phase, his attacks are just the same as during the first phase. This is also the phase where Seth is very vulnerable, be patient when landing your attacks, as Seth's attacks are more powerful, which can easily kill you.

During your fight with Shrine Guardian Seth, make sure to also utilize your powerful tools, such as Tacks, Threefold Pin, or Cogfly. These tools are very useful in dealing with a good amount of damage.

Shield Lunge Attack

Seth will maximize the use of his shield not just for defending himself, but also for offensive attacks. Seth will instantly jump into the air and will lunge at you with his shield, performing a powerful shield attack. This attack can inflict a significant amount of damage to your silk health if you are caught during the attack. To avoid this attack, utilize your dash and sprint ability to easily get away from the direction of the attack.

Slash Attack

Seth will be utilizing his pin weapon to cause some damage to your silk health. His slash attack is composed of a series of melee attacks. Seth will also try to poke you with his pin weapon, which can also be a deadly attack. You can try to block this attack, however, it requires perfect timing. To easily dodge this attack, you can jump and dash, and try to get behind Seth, so you can at least hit him several times, dealing a good amount of damage to his health.

Throwable Shield

Seth will throw his shield right at you at a rapid speed. He will then blink to his shield and follow up with some melee attacks. Seth will also throw his shield in different directions, which bounces back once it hits the walls. To avoid taking damage from this attack, carefully watch where the shield bounces and then try to get out of the way. This is also where Seth is vulnerable to throwable attacks, so make sure to utilize your tools, such as your Threefold Pin.

Spinning Attack

Seth can also perform a spinning attack, in which he will try to slash you first with his pin and then perform a follow-up attack in the form of a mid-air spin attack. Remember not to jump during this attack, as Seth can catch you off guard while you are in the air.
