Even after you unlock the Sonic Resonator in Subnautica 2, there is much more to do with the device. This is one of the handful of tools that can receive a sizable upgrade, but in order to do so, you will need to find a number of blueprints scattered across the vast open seas.
Similar to the Sonic Resonator, the Feedback Resonator is a device that is 100% mandatory to get, otherwise you won’t be able to progress the story. This is because, after taking down the infection of the Angel Comb in the Blighted Coral in the first section of the story, it will adapt and prevent you from doing this again. Fortunately, with this upgrade, it stands no chance. Unfortunately, finding each of the blueprints isn’t easy, so that’s why we’ve compiled a guide showing you exactly where to look.
Where to Find the Keycode for the Tadpole Pens in Subnautica 2
Down in the fiery depths is a habitat that unfortunately needs a little bit of work to get into.
Where to Find the Feedback Resonator Blueprints
Cicada Ship Wreck
Both Feedback Resonator blueprints can be found in the second half of the story, past the Collector Leviathan and in the Power Plant and Root Canyon areas of the map. There are a couple of instances where you’re able to find it, but these two locations are the most convenient given.
The first can be found in the Cicada Wreck. This is found 200 meters underwater and 2,040 meters away from the Lifepod, or 785 meters east southeast of the Ancient Ruins. Enter from the open doorway on the torn half of the ship and the Feedback Resonator will be on the ground in front of the inaccessible next door.
Close to the Metal Farm
While you’re able to find one Feedback Resonator at the Metal Farm itself, the closer option can be found just before entering the farm itself. Near the bottom of the ocean just prior to the Metal Farm, you’ll come across a small mining area that’s nicely lit up for you.
At the base of this farming area, you’ll be able to find a Feedback Resonator. This is roughly 2,000 meters away from the Lifepod and 400 meters deep.
Feedback Resonator Requirements
After you have collected the Feedback Resonator’s blueprints, all you need to do is craft the upgrade. Unlike most of the blueprints in Subnautica 2, the Feedback Resonator requires you to craft a Modification Station instead of using the Fabricator.
The Modification Station can be found in the Welcome Center near the beginning of the game next to the Lifepod, making it an easy get, although if you somehow missed it and are across the map already, it might be a bit of a trek to retrieve it.
Using the Habitat Builder, select the Modification Station. It will require some basic materials, along with one mid-to-late game:
- 2x Titanium
- 2x Celestine
- 1x Copper Wire
On top of a Modification Station, you will also need a Processor, but at this point in the story, you should already have at least one built. Regardless, after the Modification Station is constructed, head to the second menu option and select the Feedback Resonator. This will require its own set of materials, most of which are from the final area (Root Canyon and some in the Power Plant).
- Sonic Resonator
- 2x Enameled Glass
- 2x Conduit Crystal
- 2x Strontium
After this, you’ll be able to not only shoot minerals at a distance, but the buds from the second Angel Comb.
