For the past month, the newly opened PC mod portal, GGMods, has been running a contest to draw more modders in to be creative. Whether it’s creating new enemies or weaponry for a game, or more casual aesthetics in the environment, there was a lot of potential for what creators could do.
This week marked the conclusion of the spring Modathon, showcasing new and exciting mods for The Sims 4, Skyrim Special Edition, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 4 and Stardew Valley. These were the most popular games based on downloads, and rightfully so as they have some of the strongest and most vocal communities.
Each game had numerous mods submitted to the contest, but only one per game could come out on top with the $1,000 grand prize.
GGMods Spring Modathon Closing Out its Final Week
The final week of the big contest, and with it comes a variety of new entries.
Grand Prize Winners:
The Sims 4:
The Harmonia’s Neighbor Farm Girl Dress was the highest downloaded mod in the category, featuring a rather cute but a bit sexual mod. This aesthetic has a cute top with a see-through bottom of various colors.
Skyrim Special Edition
ColdSun’s Foundation – Faces was by far the most downloaded mod among all the games and categories. It allows players to replace any female face (and soon male faces) with a custom face that’s from the Foundation library.
Fallout 4
Dante’s Monster Mayhem King Radroach was one of the highlighted mods from a couple of weeks ago, as it added a brand-new enemy to the game. Face off against the giant, irradiated Radroach and get great rewards for doing so.
Stardew Valley
Airyn’s TV Shopping Network was the biggest hit in the category for Stardew Valley. This allowed players to place orders through a TV shopping network in-game, gaining better offers each week.
In addition to the grand prize winners, there were smaller weekly prize pools for each game, giving those who participated a $50 Steam gift card for themed ones, and $100 if they were the most downloaded. These were theme-based, so the winners had to fall into a certain category to qualify for the extra rewards.

Unfortunately, as you can see, some of the weeks didn’t get unique enough mods to qualify for some of the themed events. That’s not to mention that it takes quite a bit of effort and time to build a brand-new mod from scratch to qualify for very specific conditions such as these.
The Sims 4 definitely took the cake when it came to both quality and quantity, featuring some rather impressive entries. It’s such a massive game with a very dedicated community that it’s no surprise that they saw a huge outpouring of support during the contest. That’s not to say the others didn’t, but The Sims 4 was definitely the frontrunner during this Modathon.
With that said, our personal favorites had to come in the form of the Stardew Valley mods. While they’re not overly complex, they add enough to the overall structure of the farming simulator and feel like they come from a strong place of love for the game, adding even more hours to the experience.
Regardless, congratulations to the winners. They have showed off their creative prowess all while being rewarded at the same time. Here’s hoping GGMods will continue similar programs in the future.
