Traveling the vast world of Crimson Desert, you will find various factions that are at war with one another, while some are pretty passive. Regardless, each has their own struggles within, and for those in Urdavah, they are met with thievery.
This is a rare side quest in Crimson Desert, helping people through an investigation. There are a handful to take on, mostly one per major area, but each involves talking with NPCs and figuring out who has done the crime. In Urdavah, a guardsman calls your attention in hopes of enlisting your help.

The Investigation
Investigation Part 1: Talk to Rashim
The first thing you will need to do is talk to the guild branchmaster, Rashim, who is at a loss to who could have stolen from the guild, especially something so important.
From what Rashim has to say, it doesn’t seem like someone forced their way in, but instead had access to the key. It’s revealed that Mahmoud is the only one that has the key, but Rashim reassures you that he’s a trusted individual who he has a hard time believing it would be him.
Investigation Part 2: Talk to Mahmoud
Now that you know who had the key, head over to Mahmoud to see what he has to say.
Unfortunately, he doesn’t provide much help as he says that while he stepped away briefly, he’s certain no one came by during the day. The only people who know where the strongbox was located are the branchmaster, himself, Shahina and the guards.
Investigation Part 3: Talk to Shahina
Head into the core of the town and talk to the guild’s scribe, Shahina. While Shahina won’t give you information of where she was that day, she will instead give you some valuable information on what happened.
She will tell you that the porter, Paizel, was asking around for where the strongbox was being held. With that said, Shahina didn’t reveal that information to him.
Investigation Part 4: Talk to Kasim
Kasim is part of the soldiers who guard the guild. He is located all the way to the north at the tower along with his men.
Asking him about the day, he will state that “not a soul left the post the entire day,” meaning that he’s either complicit or could have been someone during the night. Unfortunately, that’s all the information he has for you outside of spilling that everyone actually knows where the strongbox is located.
Investigation Part 5: Talk to Armin
Now it’s time to talk to Armin, a local apothecary. He is located on the opposite side of the trading post next to a lot of hay.
Speaking with him, things begin to look a little fishy. He claims that he had lost his records for the day and all of his customers are likely all long gone to back up his claim. He is quick to point fingers as he says there’s a rumor that Mahmoud is deep in gambling debts.
Investigation Part 6: Talk to Paziel
Last but not least, you are tasked with talking to the porter, Paziel, who Shahina claims was asking about the location of the strongbox.
Paziel claims that he was sorting the storeroom goods in preparation for the move coming up and that involves the strongbox, as well. He does give you a good piece of information that he saw Armin, the apothecary, lingering at the camp at dawn.
Turning in your Report (Answers)
Now that you have all the information, head back to the guard captain and give him your report. This is time for the dialogue options. This portion of the quest requires you to remember what everyone says to piece the story together. If you fail any of the six prompts, you will have to do the conversation all over again. Thankfully, we know the answers to each if you can’t keep track of everything.
- They were suspicious of Mahmoud, the one with the key.
- He was away briefly, but insisted it’s not a problem as only Rashim, Shahina, and the guards know of the strongbox’s location.
- Paizel’s been poking around, wanting to know where the strongbox is kept.
- Nobody left the trading post that day, and everyone knew where the strongbox was.
- They were away on a trade, and heard a rumour that Mahmoud’s gotten himself into gambling debt.
- They saw a herb merchant at camp at dawn.
Now that you’ve given all the information, it becomes clear who it was that stole the strongbox: Armin, the apothecary. He was being deflective and had a vague alibi, so it oinly makes sense. Head to the northeast to confront him as he’s currently in a transaction with a potential buyer.
Rough him up a bit and then bring him back to the guard captain for him to receive his due punishment.
