Whether it’s fighting off giant monsters or taking to the sky and riding a dragon, there feels like an infinite number of activities to do in Crimson Desert. Most of the time it will be drawing your sword on bandits or an aggressive faction, but sometimes you might just want to sit back and solve a puzzle or two.
This is what Crimson Desert does best, as the open world is filled to the brim with puzzles to take on. Some of them are surprisingly challenging, while others can be done in a simple stroke. For Lionscrest Manor, this occurs very early on in the story, provided you’re able to sneak into the manor itself. This guide will show you how to not only get into the manor, but solve the picture puzzle in one of the rooms.
How to Solve the Dragon Stone Chamber Puzzle in Crimson Desert
Some puzzles require traversing the world and finding environmental clues to complete.
Where to Find the Lioncrest Manor Puzzle
The Lioncrest Manor is located almost immediately northwest of Hernand Castle. It is a relatively large mansion sitting on top of the hill overlooking the city, one that you will travel to a handful of times for main missions.
Lioncrest Manor is one of the few locations in Crimson Desert that isn’t easily accessible to the player, though. There will be two guards at the front doors that will immediately throw you out if you try to enter the premises, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get in, especially early on when you need it the most.
In order to gain access to the estate, you will need to head around back where there will be a handful of NPCs hanging around. What you want to do is climb the wall and up to the window. Here, you’ll be able to open the window with a hold of the X/Square button and then climb through.
Because you are friendly with the Hernand kingdom, you will be able to come and go as you please within this household, even if there are guards patrolling. With that said, it doesn’t mean you can simply steal anything when there are eyes on you. This is also the manor where you can obtain a Gold Bar underneath the ledge of the fireplace on the first floor.
Solving the Puzzle
With that said, where you will want to go is the east room on the second floor. At the back of the room, you will notice a cabinet next to a dresser. This cabinet is unique from anything we’ve seen before as it has a broken-up picture that needs some reorganization in order to be opened.
This puzzle operates on a 3x3 grid, and your objective is to rotate the images to properly display the picture in all its glory. The middle piece is locked in place, so don’t touch it, but the rest requires a bit of adjusting for everything to fall into place.
To simplify things, we have put this in a table to hopefully help you rotate the tiles in the least number of turns possible.

And you will be rewarded with a Small Box that you will need to steal — thankfully, there aren't any guards patrolling this room. Inside there will be an Engraved Gold Necklace that can be upgraded.
