Greedfall Story

The world of GreedFall and its visual identity draw heavily from 17th century Europe. The architecture, costumes, weaponry, ambiance all take root in this period of history dominated by exploration, scientific discoveries, and booming culture in general.

The world of GreedFall is not entirely down-to-earth. You will explore an immense island seeping with magic. Its lands, inhabited by magic-wielding locales and fantastical creatures, hide countless mysteries and secrets awaiting to be discovered. - a sole survivor of the massacre of the ‘Silent Sorrow’. Trapped in an endless cycle of death and rebirth, it’s down to you to free the world from this terrible fate and reach the origin of your anguish.

Greedfall Gameplay

GreedFall is an RPG to its core, with an emphasis on freedom in both character development and how you proceed through the world.

• Choose your gender, customize your appearance and select a few starting attributes, building from there to create your own playstyle.
• The classless progression system lets you tap various branches from an extensive skill tree and create your own skill synergies.
• With over a hundred skills to choose from, along with thousands of combinations of equipment, you forge your very own experience.

Progress and achieve quests in a multitude of different ways, from combat to diplomacy and deception. The way you reach your objectives depends solely on your choices and how you choose to develop your character. The island of GreedFall is a living, ever-evolving world - your actions will influence its course and, ultimately, shape your story.

In GreedFall, situations are not always resolved by spilling blood. The wits of you and your companions are just as important as your prowess with a blade, and wise diplomacy, stealth, science or a well-used skill may negate the need for combat.

The world of GreedFall is home to numerous factions, each with their own beliefs, territories, goals, allies and enemies. You will forge and break alliances, weaving your way through an intricate reputation system. Every decision you make has the potential to please or anger these factions and their leading figures, as well your companions. Your ability to handle diplomatic encounters, the two party members you choose to bring to encounters, and who you will decide to help or fight, will ultimately impact the geopolitical landscape of the island.

Greedfall and Greedfall 2

Greedfall takes place in the early 18th century-styled fantasy, located on a remote island called Teer Fradee with various Continents and cities outside of it to explore, where you play as De Sardet, Born into a family of the Old Continent of Gacane. Greedfall 2 takes place in a village near the island of Teer Fradee with mythical creatures and numerous dangers, where you play as a native according to the trailer.

Greedfall 2 is the second installment of Greedfall. Greedfall takes place right after the events of Greedfall 2, which makes Greedfall 2 a prequel instead of a sequel. With all new stories and experiences for you, new mechanics to use in the game while still having the same essence as its predecessor. You will be able to customize your character still but will have more features to include, and allows you to have your own branch to follow instead of following a skill tree from a specific class. Your companions will be able to have more skills as well such as sensing traps and warning you to prevent you from getting stuck in the trap and allowing you to dismantle the trap, and have more dialogue options in conversations with them or with other NPCs.

Skill Tree in Greedfall

The skill tree in Greedfall separates into six different main paths with 3 more paths that open out from each main path. The skill tree is also divided into 3 different parts, the upper third is the skill tree for Warriors, this area focuses on melee combat and allows you to wield more melee weapons. The lower right-third is the skill tree for Magic, this area focuses on magical abilities for offense and defense in combat. Finally, the lower left-third is the skill tree for Technical abilities, this area focuses on crafting abilities to create either offensive or defensive-type traps.

Merchant Camps in Greedfall

While on your journey in Greedfall, you will encounter Wandering Merchant Camps where you can purchase from and sell to the Merchants, gain access to your chest to manage your items, and also manage your Companions. You will also find a Crafting Table, if you have the right talents and attributes, this is where you can craft potions and upgrade your equipment.

Exploring in Greedfall

Teer Fradee is a large place in Greedfall, which is why there are a few means of travel and exploration. If you are traveling on foot, you will find a few campsites in between cities and towns, this is where you can rest and fast travel. Another way, is when you reach the end of a road, a travel interface will appear for you to select the destination you wish to reach. Lastly, you can find Caravans in major cities that you can use to travel from one major city to another.

Companions in Greedfall

Greedfall features 5 Companions that can accompany you on your Quests, you can also romance them depending on which companion you like. Each companion has their own friendship levels that you can increase by constantly talking to them, standing with their faction, and completing their own companion quests. Some companions have their own romancing requirements such as your character needing to only be male or female, while one of them not being romanceable at all.

Character Creation in Greedfall

In Greedfall, you will take control of De Sardet, you will be able to customize the appearance of your character. After doing so, you can choose a class that includes a set of skills and a skill tree that you can level up. After choosing a class, you can choose your starting attribute and talent to help you get into your play style.

Skill Respec in Greedfall

You will be able to respec skills if you no longer enjoy them, and have room to experiment with different Skills, Attributes, and Talents. In order to do so, you will need to have a Memory Crystal, open your game menu, and use the button on the character tab. It is recommended to experiment with the skills, attributes, and talents to experience the full experience of the game and to find the right playstyle for you.

Crafting Tables in Greedfall

Crafting Tables can be used to craft items and upgrade your Weapons and Armor, as well as recycling equipment that you do not need in exchange for materials. There are some items that you can and cannot craft depending on the stats you have, such as having the Science stat, which will allow you to craft certain potions.

You will be able to find crafting tables in your home in major cities, and also found at wandering Merchant Camps and your temporary camps. If you have not tried camping yet, you can find a question mark icon on the map, hover over it and it may say camp. Click on the icon to activate it and you will find a crafting table there.

Greedfall Weapons

In Greedfall there are 2 types of weapons, Melee Weapons, and Firearms. While melee weapons are more common for players as they can often be looted or purchased from merchants. Firearms are ideal for long-range combat as well as destabilizing an enemy. Firearms can be looted on bodies and can be purchased from merchants as well. Both types of weapons can be crafted and upgraded to be made stronger throughout the game. However, some weapons have higher rarities therefore will have additional requirements in order for you to use them.

Tactical Pause in Greedfall

You can trigger tactical pause during combat to properly assess the situation and to plan out your next move, you can access your skills, spells, and items as well as learn about the enemies around you. Learning about your enemies allows you to use what you have to take them out with ease.

Sneak Attacks in Greedfall

You will go through a tutorial early on in the game on how to perform sneak attacks, sneak attacks allow you to sneak around enemies without getting detected and land a critical hit. Performing sneak attacks in areas with more enemies will make exploring the area easier.

Greedfall Armor

Armor in Greedfall is separated into 6 different parts, Head Armor, Neck Accessory, Back Accessory, Chest Armor, Arms Armor, and Leg Armor. The individual armor pieces can be worn as a set or different pieces to fit your situation or interests. Each piece of armor has its own value, and rarity and provides different levels of protection with add-on effects to some.

Weight Limit in Greedfall

All collectible items that you pick up all have a weight inside your inventory. There is a limit to how much you can carry so the more items you have on you, the heavier you will be and the slower you will be as well. There is a chest that you can use as storage to place items you still wish to keep but unable to keep on you or refuse to sell, with items you wish not to keep, you can sell them to nearby merchants to gain some extra gold.

Fury Attacks in Greedfall

Fury in Greedfall allows you to go into a state where you can use special attacks that will inflict extra damage and cause your enemies to lose their balance, there will be a bar for your fury level that displays a meter that will fill up when you attack an enemy, cast a spell, or parry attacks from enemies. There are multiple bars on the fury meter but when it reaches its first level, there will be a visual effect on your character's hands and that indicates that you can use your fury attack.
