Combat | Fallout 76 Wiki

From Fallout 76 Wiki

Fallout 76 Combat is quite similar to the Fallout 4 in which is the fast-paced action that includes both range and melee combat. In this fast-paced system, the player has the ability to switch between 1st person and 3rd person at any time whichever the most suitable.

There are various of weapons in Fallout 76, each weapon type has its own advantages and disadvantages. (For example, energy weapons works better when fighting robots, while melee weapons can hardly make a dent. However, melee weapons don't consume ammo.) You can also wear Armor to increase your Damage Resist.

You can also boost your ability of using different types of weapons by using Perks. They can increase the damage you can deal or reduce ammo consumption.

If you get hurt and want to restore your lost health, try eating some food or use stimpacks. If you prefer sneak attack rather than a face-to-face battle, invest some points in perks like Ninja, Covert Operative etc.

V.A.T.S or Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System in Fallout 76 works differently compared to previous Fallout games. In Fallout 3, 4 and New Vegas, the Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System lets you slow down time to target the different body parts of your enemies. However in Fallout 76, V.A.T.S won't slow down time or pause for bloody cinematics. It simply highlights enemies, displays the body part you can currently aim at, and your chances of a successful hit, for an Action Point (AP) cost.

With perk Awareness, you can view a target's specific damage resistances in V.A.T.S
