Fire Monk is a Humanoid Enemy in Elden Ring. Fire Monks gather at night in rituals and processions burning their way through Liurnia of the Lakes, accompanied by their Flame Chariots. They settle in folksy camps surrounded by their Thorn Sorcerers followers. High in the mountaintops they guard the Flame of Ruin.
The spirit of a Fire Monk can be summoned for aid in battle by using the Fire Monk Ashes.
The Fire Monks are guardians of the flame of ruin, forbidden by the Erdtree and said to be kept high in the Mountaintops of the Giants.
The monks came to the land of Liurnia in pursuit of a fugitive who stole their fire.
Elden Ring Fire Monk Locations
Where to Find Fire Monks:
- 5 seconds east of Eastern Tableland site of grace in east Liurnia of the Lakes.
- Liurnia of the Lakes, southeast of the Church of Vows, as well as east of the Village of the Albinaurics, closest to the Lakeside Crystal Cave Site of Grace.
- Fort Laiedd, west of the Seethewater Terminus Site of Grace.
- Giant-Conquering Hero's Grave
- Guardians' Garrison.
Elden Ring Fire Monk Drops
Only Fire Monks in Mountaintops of the Giants can drop Monk's Flameblade.
[Map Link] At the camp South of Church of Vows:
- You can find the Flame, Cleanse Me Incantation within a corpse facing the main campfire.
- You can loot a Smoldering Butterfly off the dead body of one of the Thorn-Fire Sorcerers you just killed.
- Fire Spur Me Gesture in the main campfire.

- Medium resistance to Fire Damage, low resistance to Lightning Damage

- A possible reason for the Monks being in Liurnia is because they are searching for Adan, who had stolen a secret incantation of theirs.

Creates a fire within that greatly increases fire damage negation.
It is said that this incantation was used during the War against the Giants long ago, during which it protected the champions of the Erdtree.
Surge, O Flame!
Superior incantation of the Fire Monks.
Creates a stream of fire to burn the area before the caster. This incantation can be cast while in motion. Hold to maintain the effect.
The Giants' Flame is the flame of ruin, capable of burning the Erdtree. And so, following the War against the Giants, its ruinous blaze was sealed, and guardians were appointed to watch over it.
Fire Monk Hood

Flame of the Fell God
This legendary incantation is one of several that draws directly from the power of the Fire Giants.
Releases a ball of raging fire said to be inhabited by a fell god. The fireball floats toward enemies and explodes, setting the area ablaze.
Arghanthy, the chief guardian of the Flame, had kept this incantation a well-kept secret until it was stolen by Adan. The fell god still lurks within the Fire Giants.
Monk's Flameblade
Curved sword with a flickering flame motif.
Wielded by the Fire Monks who came from the Mountaintops of the Giants.
The monks came to the land of Liurnia in pursuit of a fugitive who stole their fire.

fun fact: the unique death animation from fire towards fire monks shows them beating their chest like the "fire spur me" emote before falling.

So there are monks for every type of (Giant's flame and blackflame) except for one type, the flame of frenzy. So why not have frenzyflame monks? They would be wearing burned yellow cloth and would have fingerprints on them like the fingerprint armor.

Interestingly enough, most enemies in the Lands Between have a golden hue in there eyes, even the Misbegotten, however the Flame Monks have a turquoise color and no tinge of gold anywhere

I don't know if it's just coincidence or what, but my brother and I farmed this at the same time and we both each got a TON of chestplates and about one of everything else EXCEPT the hood. It still hasn't dropped for us and we were NOT playing in the same world.

The drop rate given here for the monk's flame blade as 4%, the same as the flamemace seems a bit shady. I farmed for that sword and it was faster to kill the first monk with Borealis's mist than it was to wait for him to walk far enough then sneak behind him into the hidden corridor.
By the time I got the sword I had nine flamemaces drop from the first fire monk. As well as multiple chest pieces, greaves, hoods, gauntlets. I have no idea how many smouldering butterflies and fire blossoms I got.
A word to the wise though, if you farm for the sword don't fast travel back to the grace if you don't see the purple glow in the item that's dropped. I was picking them up because fire blossoms and smouldering butterflies are useful if I hadn't been I would have missed the sword drop. It didn't glow purple, it was the same small white glow the butterflies and blossoms had.

I hate fromsoft so much. Farming the armor I have 3 flame maces, 3 hoods, 6 legs, 4 gauntlets and zero chest pieces. **** you fromsoft

These guys when they cast spells: Can facetank dual wielded greatsword L1s without even flinching, Us when we cast spells: Can be interrupted and staggered out of casting by a gentle nudge, thats kinda bullshit ngl.

it's worth mentioning that the Flame Cleanse Me incantation is found at the camp near Church of Vows, and the Fire Spur Me gesture is found at the camp near Lakeside Crystal Cave, they are two entirely different places, NOT the same camp as the article says

Farming tableland spawn and I have been at it for about four hours now. I have gotten many copies of everything, but one set of greaves and still no chest armor. :(

While it isn't false, it might get a bit long between resets if you plan to farm for the armor.
'' Eastern Tableland Site of Grace '' would be the closest to the Monk's camp near Church of Vows.

Fire Monk Gauntlets are not a guaranteed drop. Fire Monk Abbot has a chance to drop the Fire Monk Armor, Gauntlets, Greaves, and Monk's Flamemace. Not sure about headwear drop yet.
