Elden Ring Gameplay
The Elden Ring Wiki covers Elden Ring, developed by FromSoftware and BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc, is a fantasy action-RPG adventure set within a world created by Hidetaka Miyazaki -creator of the influential DARK SOULS video game series, and George R R Martin - author of The New York Times best-selling fantasy series, A Song of Ice and Fire. Danger and discovery lurk around every corner in FromSoftware's largest game to-date.
Hidetaka Miyazaki, President and Game Director of FromSoftware Inc known for directing critically-acclaimed games in beloved franchises including Armored Core, Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Sekiro Shadows Die Twice.
George R R Martin is the On the New York Times bestselling author of many novels, including the acclaimed series A Song of Ice and One - A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, A Storm of Swords, A Feast For Crows, and A Dance with Dragons. As a writer-producer, he has worked on The Twilight Zone, Beauty and the Beast, and various feature films and pilots that were never made.
Elden Ring Reveal
- Elden Ring has been in production since the end of the Dark Souls III DLC.
This is in contrast to Sekiro, that begun production in 2015 after Bloodborne. - Elden Ring will release on PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4
- Bandai Namco is publishing and has registered the Elden Ring IP
- Elden Ring Release Date – From our observations
The release window for this game is unlikely to match FromSoftware’s traditional March-April, and is more likely to fall into Dark Souls’ September-October release. - “Elden Ring is a third-person action RPG with a fantasy setting… gameplay is not so far from Dark Souls… Elden Ring belongs to the same genre.”
- Plethora of weapons, magic and builds, and a focus on RPG elements. FromSoftware expects equipment variety to be larger than Souls in this regard.
- No main fixed protagonist, players create the characteristics and personality of their character. This leads us to believe Character Creation is a given.
- The World of Elden Ring is vast and interconnected. No longer a continuity of “levels”, players see vast landscapes in between the “dungeon-esque” areas.
- The larger world scale allows for freedom, promotes exploration, and introduces new and exciting mechanics, such as Horse Riding and Mounted Combat.
- Elden Ring is a “natural evolution of Dark Souls.” New mechanics needed by this larger world. Expect FromSoftware’s trademark challenging boss battles.
- Towns won’t be full of villagers, merchants and the like. They will be ruins, dungeons and exploration hubs. As Souls there is no vast population of NPCs.
- The NPCs the player finds are expected to be the most compelling yet in the studio’s work, thanks to Martin’s involvement in the Mythos.
George R. R. Martin has written the world’s mythos and Hidetaka Miyazaki has written the game story. - Story will be revealed through “fragments of environmental storytelling” as in previous Souls games.
- Mythos and the present moment of the player are connected and exploration will lead players to understand why things are as they are.
- There is no information at time of writing about multiplayer/online/invasions.
A NEW FANTASY WORLD

Traverse the breathtaking world on foot or on horseback, alone or online with other players, and fully immerse yourself in the grassy plains, suffocating swamps, spiraling mountains, foreboding castles and other sites of grandeur on a scale never seen before in a FromSoftware title.

Everything We Know About Elden Ring: Pre & Post Launch Content
Elden Ring Nightreign
What is Elden Ring Nightreign?
Nightreign for Elden Ring is FromSoftware and Bandai Namco''s new stand-alone ARPG that highlights not only a Single-player mode but also a co-op experience of up to three players. It is a game set within the universe or setting of Elden Ring that (might we say) features a "condensed" area of Limgrave where players will get to explore familiar areas and some new biomes. According to the official JP website of Nightreign, as translated:
"Nightreign is an action game in which you take on overwhelming situations together with other players. In this title, which retains some of the enemies, weapons, and other elements of "ELDEN RING" but has been reconstructed with a completely different game design, players will control characters with different personalities and take on new threats."
Nightreign Network Test Announced!
The Nightreign network test is a preliminary verification test in which the selected testers play a portion of the game prior to the full game launch. Various technical verifications of online systems will be examined by conducting large-scale network load tests.
- Registration: Starts January 10th, 2025.
- Network Test Start: February 2025, specific date yet to be confirmed.
- Available on: PS5/Xbox Series
- Playable Heroes: Yet to be confirmed if all the 8 heroes of the roster will be playable. It is highly likely that players will be able to play the four confirmed Heroes. (Wylder, Guardian, Duchess, and Recluse)
Elden Ring NIGHTREIGN Announced
A new standalone multiplayer co-op action survival game set in the ELDEN RING universe is on the horizon, inviting players to unite against the formidable Nightlord. This exciting title will immerse players in cooperative PVE battles within a brutal and relentless environment. Whether joining forces in teams of three or venturing out alone, players will need to endure a challenging three-day-and-night cycle, making quick choices about combat and exploration on a dynamic map. Their ultimate goal? To gather enough strength to confront and conquer fearsome bosses that await at the end of each day.
OFFICIAL NIGHTREIGN GAME DESCRIPTION ACCORDING TO BANDAI NAMCO
"Players take on the night together in an all-new experience from the team at FromSoftware. ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN will be a multiplayer-focused return to Roundtable Hold, set in a universe parallel to the events of ELDEN RING. Players must choose from eight unique characters, each with their own unique abilities and powerful Ultimates. Their journeys take them to Limveld, an ever-changing map, where they will have to make split-second decisions when it comes to combat and exploration in the face of a night cycle that shrinks the map with the coming Night’s Tide. At the end of each night, players will face a powerful boss and, if victorious, awaken to bigger challenges.
Each session will culminate in the third night when they must face off against the chosen Nightlord. Individuals can fight the night alone, but strength will come in numbers. Nightfarers must learn to cooperate to take down these challenges, combining their unique abilities together for an unparalleled experience in the ELDEN RING universe. All is not lost for those who fall in defeat. Unsuccessful runs will grant players relics to allow them to customize and upgrade their characters tailored to their personal play styles."
"ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN is unlike any experience created before by FromSoftware, Inc. In this condensed action RPG, players will never experience the same journey twice as enemies, rewards, and Limveld itself are ever-shifting and evolving each session. Defeating greater enemies and venturing into the more dangerous parts of the map will uncover more powerful weapons and greater Rune rewards. Find Sites of Grace to give each hero a chance to level up and gain crucial power.
With each session-based adventure being akin to playing through an open-air dungeon, every journey provides an opportunity to grow lasting stat bonuses. Successful runs against the night bring players ever closer to defeating the Nightlord and unraveling the story behind each Nightfarer in this parallel world." - BANDAI NAMCO

Elden Ring Nightreign Development Insights from a recent Interview
In a recent interview, game director Junya Ishizaki shared key insights into the development of Elden Ring Nightreign. The game draws from the lore and setting of Elden Ring, offering a unique spin-off that takes place in a parallel world, diverging after the Fracture War. The game introduces new gameplay elements, including a 3-day cycle, 3-player co-op, and an emphasis on challenge without an easy mode.
Key gameplay mechanics revealed in the interview include "Relics" for character progression, a randomized map with dynamic changes, and a focus on cooperative play with no PvPvE or battle royale modes. While bosses may become stronger after being defeated, small enemies won’t respawn, and players will face a dynamic world with different weapons, items, and bosses each time. The game also introduces a new currency, "Marks," which can be used to obtain powerful Relics, which are items that permanently enhance character abilities, as well as cosmetic items like gestures and skins.
The development team prioritized a balanced, condensed RPG experience, where players can explore character backstories and enjoy a multiplayer dynamic that offers fresh challenges. Junya Ishizaki also emphasized the decision to focus on 3-player co-op, ensuring a rewarding experience that deviates from traditional multiplayer RPGs. Nightreign is also being developed as a standalone, one-time purchase game, with FromSoftware confident that its fun and rewarding gameplay will resonate with players, regardless of the current trends in live-service games.
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree
Shadow of the Erdtree DLC Trailer Breakdown
Shadow of the Erdtree DLC Trailer!
What to Expect in Shadow of the Erdtree?
The Land of Shadow. A place obscured by the Erdtree.
Where the goddess Marika first set foot.
A land purged in an unsung battle.
Set ablaze by Messmer’s flame.
It was to this land that Miquella departed.
Divesting himself of his flesh, his strength, his lineage.
Of all things Golden.
And now Miquella awaits the return of his promised Lord.
New Story
Guided by Empyrean Miquella, players are beckoned to the Land of Shadow, a place obscured by the Erdtree where the goddess Marika first set foot. In these strange new lands, players discover the dark secrets of the world as they meet others who follow in Miquella’s footsteps with ulterior motives.
New Location
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree takes players beyond the Lands Between to explore the Land of Shadow, a completely new world from Elden Ring. Players can seamlessly travel back and forth between its vast maps interspersed with diverse situations and meticulous dungeons where menacing enemies roam.
New Content
Shadow of the Erdtree adds new Weapons, equipment, weapon skills and Magic not found in the base game ELDEN RING, along with new Enemies, Boss encounters and plotlines to further increase players' RPG freedom. Take on these threats with the new powers you can acquire.
Shadow of the Erdtree Speculations
The Erdtree featured in the cover art is bleeding Gold, which may also mean that this is a post-destruction story that happens after the Endings of the game. Zooming into the image seems to show ashes coming down from the tree branches, so it may both be a post-burning scenario, or a pre-breaking scenario when the Golden Order was first corrupted. The bleeding Erdtree seems to be strangled by another twisted tree - some speculated that this twisted tree is an extension of Godwyn's roots. The sky above the two trees is sunless - has an eclipse befallen the Lands Between?
We can also see ethereal structures on the field - could these be the ghostly tombs of the Haligtree soldiers who sacrificed themselves in a flash to guide Miquella's return?
According to Hidetaka Miyazaki in interview with several media outlets, the new DLC will be have the following content:

Latest News and Information About the Shadow of the Erdtree
Exciting news just arrived for Elden Ring fans: the latest updates for the upcoming DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, have been released, confirming much of the previously speculative information. The new details are thrilling, suggesting that the DLC is shaping up to be incredibly promising. Feedback from creators who have experienced it so far has been overwhelmingly positive. They were genuinely impressed, with many stating that Shadow of the Erdtree has the potential to be one of the greatest DLCs in gaming history. Given the initial reactions, it wouldn't be surprising if this prediction holds true.

Brand New Weapons, Talismans, Ashes of War in Shadow of the Erdtree
The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC brings an exciting array of new weapon types, Ashes of War, and spells to Elden Ring. Recent trailers and interviews have confirmed that players will have access to several new weapon categories, including Great Katanas, Beast Claws, Martial Arts Weapons (also known as Hand-to-Hand weapons), Thrusting Shields, Perfume Bottles, Light Greatswords, Reverse-Hand Swords, and various throwing weapons.

Many of these new weapons have already been showcased. One example would be the Light Greatsword line, which has also caught my attention with its graceful movements and dynamic animations, especially in instance mode.

It's worth noting that the DLC will introduce an impressive 100 new weapons, opening up a plethora of build possibilities and diversity. Beyond weapons, there will also be new Ashes of War, spells, regular weapons with unique abilities, and Talismans to experiment with.

The anticipation for Shadow of the Erdtree is building, and with such a wealth of new content, there will be a huge ton of value in terms of replayability.
Build Capabilities Will Be Retained in Shadow of the Erdtree
The next confirmed detail about Shadow of the Erdtree is that there will be no character nerfs or gimping. In the past, players were concerned that their builds might become ineffective in the new DLC area. However, We are happy to confirm that this will not be the case.

Players will be able to use any builds they want to tackle the DLC content. While results will vary depending on the specific builds used, status effects and stance damage builds will continue to be highly effective. Elden Ring maintains its core identity by providing players with immense freedom, allowing them to fully express their playstyles through their builds.
Challenges in Shadow of the Erdtree
Of course, the next question is about the overall difficulty of the latest DLC. Content creators who have tested it confirm that Shadow of the Erdtree will be more challenging than the base game, and I agree based on my own experience. Looking at previous DLC expansions in old FromSoftware titles, it's clear that FromSoftware tends to increase the difficulty with tougher enemies and bosses. For Shadow of the Erdtree, we’ve confirmed there will be 10 major bosses. FromSoftware's meticulous attention to detail suggests these encounters will be more engaging and challenging than the base game's bosses.

There's a concern that players might find the content too easy, especially with optimized status effect builds. However, the Shadow Realm Blessing, as we discussed earlier, will help mitigate this. The blessing not only enhances damage and provides damage reduction but its unique mechanics are designed to ensure a balanced and challenging experience. We trust that FromSoftware has carefully considered these factors and has implemented systems to promote balance and maintain the intended difficulty. The developers are known for their meticulous attention to detail and commitment to creating engaging, challenging content.

With the inclusion of new mechanics and the thoughtful design of the Shadow Realm Blessing, players can expect a well-balanced experience that stays true to the challenging nature of Elden Ring, providing both satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment.
The Creative Design of Shadow of the Erdtree
The overall presentation of Shadow of the Erdtree looks promising in every aspect. From the newly surfaced gameplay footage, it's evident that FromSoftware has meticulously crafted and poured immense effort into this DLC. The intricate design of Legacy dungeons, the abundance of secrets to discover in the overworld, the introduction of new NPCs, and the uncovering of fascinating stories all contribute to a richly immersive experience.

Shadow of the Erdtree is shaping up to be one of the best DLCs in the history of gaming. The community shares this excitement, eagerly anticipating its release and the depth of content it promises to deliver. One more piece of information that we have confirmed is that to access the DLC, players would need to touch the hand of Miquella in Moghwyn Palace. This was a mere speculation in the past and yet, it is now confirmed and players will surely know how to start.

For new dungeons, Belurat is one of the latest additions in the DLC. Belurat is a sizable dungeon, larger than Castle Morne but smaller than a Legacy Dungeon. It offers a lengthy and intricate experience with many optional side paths that I didn't fully explore. The fortress is filled with new enemies, including small and giant scorpions, weak guards that ambush you around corners, and menacing Gravebirds. The variety of enemies and complex layout make it a challenging and engaging dungeon to explore.

Character Progression in Shadow of the Erdtree
Next up is character and level progression in the DLC. Content creators who participated in the preview event were given level 150 characters to tackle the DLC, providing a rough idea of the overall difficulty. For now, let's focus on the confirmed information about the Shadow Realm Blessing and how it can affect our builds. The Shadow Realm Blessing is a special buff that only applies within the DLC area. This buff increases damage by 5% from all sources and provides an 8% overall damage reduction.

While these numbers might change, they are confirmed for now. Interestingly, players can upgrade this buff to gain additional bonuses. This is done by collecting Scadutree Fragments scattered across the map. Similar to how Golden Seeds work, players will need a certain number of Scadutree Fragments to upgrade the Shadow Realm Blessing, which can be done at any Site of Grace. Each upgrade adds 5% more damage and 8% more damage reduction, so fully maxing out this buff could significantly strengthen your character.

However, the maximum number of upgrades for the blessing hasn't been confirmed yet. Additionally, players who use Spirit Ashes can also progress their spirits by offering an item called Revered Spirit Ash, which is scattered across the world. However, the specific bonuses for this item are still unknown.
Shadow of the Erdtree's Length
Speaking of content length and potential replayability, many sources estimate that the DLC offers between 50 to 100 hours of gameplay. Naturally, this will vary depending on each player's build and skill level.

However, for enthusiasts, 150 to 200 hours is a more realistic minimum, especially if you enjoy creating and exploring different builds. There are a lot of things to explore such as more character builds, weapon and item collections, NPC Quest, and more.
Shadow of the Erdtree New Weapon Line Summary

- Great Katanas
- Beast Claws
- Martial Arts Weapons
- Thrusting Shields
- Perfume Bottles
- Light Greatswords
- Reverse-Hand Sword
- Throwing Weapons
Elden Ring Story Overview
Elden Ring The Lands Between
The Lands Between is the world of Elden Ring, and those who live in The Lands Between were blessed by the Elden Ring and the "Erdtree". Those who were blessed by the Elden Ring are characterized by having a golden aura that can be seen in their eyes. However, at some point, some of those who were blessed lost their grace, were exiled, and labeled as the Tarnished. As time passed, for unknown reasons, the Elden Ring was shattered across the lands and its pieces were picked up by many of the 6 demigods, where they inherited different powers and have physically changed and twisted due to being corrupted by the power.

The Lands Between is broken into 6 distinct areas that are overseen by a demigod and feature a central hub that connects all these 6 areas. According to an interview with Miyazaki, players will have total freedom as to the order they want to tackle each area, and it is up to the player how they want to approach it. Apart from that the hub will not be accessible at the beginning of the game, which means you will need to progress the game until you reach the hub area.
According to Hidetaka Miyazaki: "The Lands Between is supposed to invoke this feeling of something that's very mysterious and very ethereal – and we hope that when players play the game, they're going to experience that."
The Tarnished in Elden Ring
In the official reveal trailer that was presented in E3 2021, you'll see a softly spoken, hooded woman saying "The Tarnished, will soon return." The question is, who and what is The Tarnished? Simple, The Tarnished is you, the player, you are one of the Tarnished that have been exiled upon losing their blessing that was given by the Elden Ring and the "Erdtree", a tree that hosts the source and life of The Lands Between. Very much like in previous Souls games, you are the chosen undead or the ashen one. You are then called back to The Lands Between, as well as the other Tarnished after the destruction of the Elden Ring to recover the shards of the Elden Ring, to make them whole once again, and to become the lord of The Lands Between.

According to Hidetaka Miyazaki in an interview: " I feel like one of the main themes of the game is how the player, the Tarnished, approaches or treats this new-found grace and this return to the land that they were once banished from, how they interpret this and the meaning. It's not just the player-character, of course, it's lots of characters in the game, who are all beckoned back and will have their own adventures and motives. We want the player to discover for themselves what that means and how they want to begin their adventure."
Combat in Elden Ring
What is Stealth in Elden Ring?
Stealth mechanics seem that will be present and may be useful in combination with backstab attacks, also the game may feature a night and day mechanic that may affect the stealth mechanic as well. Stealth as many are aware of, will allow the player to crouch, sneak, and hide behind tall grass to be less detected by the enemy. Stealth will play an integral mechanic in combat since you can use it to your advantage to sneak behind an enemy to instantly kill them or at least deal a large amount of damage from using a stealth attack.

Freedom in Character Build
In the trailer that was revealed in E3 2021, we see a lot of unique Skills, magical abilities, and even having a horse leaping up a cliffside, as well as attacking while riding your Mount. These are Skills that you pick up through the player's progression and exploration. There are some cases in that a player can acquire a skill by purchasing it from merchants or learning them from an NPC, but during an interview with Hidetaka Miyazaki that was featured, he stresses that in general, skills are hidden throughout the game's world, and it is the player's responsibility to discover these through exploration.

Elden Ring will have complete freedom when it comes to building up your character, you are basically free to combine your Skills with different weapons and equipment, and you'll learn magic as well. Skills are freely interchangeable between a large variety of weapons as per Hidetaka Miyazaki, and that there are around 100 Skills. With having fewer restrictions, players will have even more variations of Builds that are even richer than previous Souls games.
Elden Ring's Day & Night Cycle
Real-time changes are featured in Elden Ring in the form of the Day and Night cycle, as well as Dynamic Weather. These features also heavily affect gameplay, combat, and the world you are exploring. For example, in cases where you are roaming at night, both players and enemies will change in terms of aggression due to a decrease in visibility, and some unique enemies that only appear at night will come out.

Are there Covenants in Elden Ring?
Traditional Souls Covenants or Factions are not featured in Elden Ring. Elden Ring Covenants are instead player-chosen allegiances or pledges undertaken to specific deities or groups of NPCs. Based on previous titles, players can expect their covenant to affect their gameplay by changing their Online interactions, or by creating new situations where users can collect special items or defeat certain enemies to rank up and obtain special rewards. Rewards are usually Magic, Weapons, and Armor pieces.
New Mechanics in Elden Ring
Elden Ring will have a large scale in terms of the world and exploration, and to go hand-in-hand with this, some new mechanics are introduced such as jumping, yes players can jump now, as well as riding on horseback (Mounts). Hidetaka Miyazaki strongly suggests that you thoroughly search and explore every section of the world to find Skills that are hidden.

There are a number of choices as well that players can approach their way of combat, some may be brave and choose to go on head-to-head, while others would rather have allies such as being able to summon the spirits of deceased enemies. Our Combat page dives into the different aspects and mechanics of the new and familiar combat tactics for Elden Ring.
Summoning the Dead in Elden Ring
One of the combat aspects of Elden Ring is being able to summon Spirits that can help you in battle. These spirits are usually the fallen souls of the enemies that you defeat, and summoning them will have them assist you in combat. These are your offline summons, and it is quite different to have your friends or other players summoned to your session which is available in Online co-op play. What's interesting with multiplayer is that you can even set a password on your calling marks, so that this way you can just have your friends join your session, if you're more comfortable with that rather than having a random drop-in.

According to Miyazaki, "|These spirit summons, we feel like – as well as there being a large variety to them – they're a nice collectible hidden element within the game world to discover and to equip as you go. They offer a lot of different strategic options, but also the player might find that they just like a certain enemy tagging along with them, a certain summon pleases them aesthetically. So there's a lot of strategic and a lot of personal touch to these summons. And we hope that players will also enjoy discovering their own progression elements as well."
Elden Ring Game Difficulty
There will only be ONE difficulty in Elden Ring. The decision of FromSoftware to lean towards this feature can benefit both new and veteran players of this genre. Elden Ring features a large scale when it comes to its world and exploration, so it does make sense that it really is up to you on how you want to tackle the game, it is highly encouraged that players carefully assess the situation that lies ahead and to find different ways to deal with it. This also provides a good camaraderie within the community since everyone can share their experiences and hopefully help one another.

AnonymousIt grows on me. The open world is part of the challenge. In order to master the game you have to know where you find the stuff you need. Not exploring every rabbithole. Being effecient. Not distracted. On paper open world is easier but it really isn't.

Anonymousman i wish i could pay for cosmetic items, or even an OP sword. Please from let me give you money for these things in the game

AnonymousI like to come back every 2 days in anonymous mode to thumbs up this comment. We'll see how long I can keep it going.

AnonymousBro, this comments are anoying. For the ones that say the game is to hard, just explore the world and become OP. For the ones that say the game is to easy, try a no-hit run and then come talk to me.
You're welcome

AnonymousThousands of combinations of weapons + WA's, as well as 200+ spells, and most of it is niche to the point of useless outside a few hyper-specific PvP builds.
This game would've been so much more fun if it weren't for most enemies having an insta-bonk that's faster than 2/3rds of the moves you have, cancelling them before you can pull them off - you get literally one use out of those skills + spells per fight (if even that), and then it's back to Lion's Claw / R1 spam until the mob is dead.
Anonymousoh i get it, dex builds don't benefit from two handing weapons so to deal with the lack of hyperarmour you need to lean more into shields and guard counters, i seeee

AnonymousWinner of 300 awards, couldn't tell you a single thing this game did individually better than any of the one that came before it which won barely, if any.

AnonymousUsed to think this game had the hardest bosses in the series. Came back to the game 2 years later, chose a STR build and Lion's Claw GUGS bosses in 3 hits while under leveled.
1. Why the heck are there even spirit summons in this game? these bosses are easier than the Asylum Demon in DS1
2. Is there a psyop against magic builds? I've done sorcery and it wasn't nearly as easy and braindead as lion's claw STR.
AnonymousI am the best elden ring player alive. Ask me anything.
signed, The Fist of the Darkness the First Elden Lord.
AnonymousPeople actually struggled with this game? How? It's a f***ing joke. Not even including all the cheap tools like broken weapon arts and summons that can play the game for you, just the mobility and basic control advantage players get compared to older Fromsoft titles makes you stupidly strong, meanwhile most of the enemies and even some bosses are just straight reskins from older games who don't stand a snowball's chance in hell of keeping up with you now. Now because of this ""accessibility"" the community's infested with scrubs and it sucks, what a letdown

AnonymousComment section needs basic features like sort by score and a huge cleanup of all the useless bickering and bait. Years ago people posted decent info, ****'s basically all weird autist spam now. If it's gonna be a glorified daycare for unsupervised speds then just delete it lol

Anonymousthis game heavily favors hybrid builds. You need 80/80 in physicial/magic, so 80 in either STR/DEX and the other 80 investment into INT/FTH/ARC. Whoever said 150 is the meta is an idiot.
Have fun!
AnonymousOGs know that watching the screen while playing is cheesing the system. Real ones play blind runs only.

Anonymousit's a shame using multiple weapons is usually too much of a detriment to carry weight because there's some cool combos you can do if you have quick access to a secondary ash of war, even in the flow of battle

Anonymousi am the sole contributor as to why the chat box that used to be here was removed. The amount of trolling and ragebaiting I did there live, GREAT DAYS. I miss it, bring it back imo.

AnonymousIf you did not download the game, you did not beat Elden ring correctly

Anonymous
AnonymousPierce is weird. So you get an attack bonus if you effectively trade with enemies but pierce weapons are mostly on spears that have no hyperarmour. Que?

pathetic
AnonymousWe really gonna get gta 6 before the tarnished edition patch huh

Anonymouswhy is it that the people who say "git gud" are almost always the one's who need summons and guide videos to get through bosses
lol, the nerve
AnonymousIdk how yall like this game so much this combat is so god dang boring. Stuck with one melee combo the entire game. Just roll and spam and roll and spam. They shoulda atleast let you mix basic attacks with power attacks in order to make some unique combos or something. Same with basic/power attacks with spells and stuff. (actually some do but not a lot of them, not nearly enough) Idk, I just really don't get all this hype, it's a heck of a good looker but that's about it.
Actually I'm ngl I did think some of the bosses were really cool, the tarnished combat is just...stale
Anonymous
Anonymouswhat in the tarnished edition could possibly be going on here?

AnonymousThis game's lore so boring it should be prescribed as cure for insomnia, I wonder if GoT is anywhere near this bland, and if like LOTR it's only as popular as it is because of its movie/tv counterpart.

AnonymousI completely trusted Papa Adelli totally from the time I spoke with him during the period my husband Left me after 11 years of our marriage, He started the spell work on my husband, and gave me so much assurance and guaranteed me that he was going to bring my husband back to my feet in just 48 hours of the spell casting. I was so confident in his work and just as he said in the beginning, my husband is finally back to me again, yes he is back with all his hearts, Love, care, emotions and flowers and things are better now. I would have no hesitation to recommend this powerful spell caster to anybody who is in need of help.. E-mail; papaadelli0 @ gmail. com

AnonymousTime for an epic troll comment haha. Git trolled chat, I just trolled you real good haha

AnonymousDid people forget what good open world design is? Ocarina of Time was a well regarded game, one of the best games, but heavily criticized for its empty Hyrule fields, so much so that people prefer Majora's Mask DESPITE it's annoying time limit mechanic because at least the overworld was more dense and smaller.
This game's overworld is basically like Ocarina of Time but worse. No fun maneuverability mechanics, just empty fields. At least OT had towns with npcs, which is kind of essential for an open world game and why people play those games. So many cool builds in ER and I just end up playing DS1,DS2, and DS3 again because I don't want to run through an empty field of nothing. When I'm in a mood for an open world game? There's Morrowind and literally any other rpg that does overworld exploration better.
AnonymousThey missed such a big opportunity by not having k pop demon hunters dlc. This game really hates its player base

AnonymousGuys, I'm starting to get the inkling that if to make the game difficult I have to go out of my way to engage with additional content, not overlevel too much, not use spells, not use incantations, not rush upgrades, not use core mechanics, like countering or summoning, the game might *actually* not be that hard to beat.

Anonymouselden ring is turning 5 years old tomorrow, happy birthday elden ring!!!

Anonymousmonster hunter wilds is a pretty decent soulslike, would recommend

Anonymous
AnonymousPeople like to say that fromsoft fans only want more iterations of the same game, but I don't think that's as scathing a critique as detractors may think. For example, if I buy the next madden or fifa or mariokart, then I'm probably going to expect that the new game doesn't deviate from the existing formula in a fundamental way. So I don't think its bad for fans to just want dark souls 4, or elden ring 5, or something. Of course, FS is free to make whichever games they wish, but I can't blame fans for having 0 interest in nightreign or duskbloods. Just as an aside, I feel as if its kind of an odd strategy to make a duskbloods a switch 2 exclusive, while also not having it be a traditional FS game. I thought the idea would be to boost console sales by having an FS exclusive, but idk if much of the core fan base will risk buying an entire console just for a PvPvEvSomething. I could be totally wrong, and the game could be exactly what FS fans want, but idk lol

Anonymous
AnonymousEven if Fromsoft never become greed. They are already on a strange path. Elden ring night reign and duskblood are multi-player only games.
Moreover, Elden ring approach to boss design is to make it like some "Shonen Anime" fight. They didn't give a damn about having memorable and balanced fights.
Who the hell are they trying to appeal to?
I know some fanboy is gonna say something dumb, like they always do.
For the matter, I beat all souls games and don't find them that difficult. Doesn't mean I can't call out poor design choices. It has nothing to do with "Gid gud". I beat all the bosses.
Anonymous
AnonymousYall... assume dark souls 1-3, bloodborne and ER were made but never released, and they wanted to reuse assets from those unreleased games and make the ultimate video game. Which bosses and areas from those games would be present and what would be thrown away?

AnonymousI'm going on a tangent here and hazard that 60% of people that say are fans of this game don't know what in the ever loving fvck was going on with the story of this game.

Anonymousi would laugh if the TGA reveal from...FromSoft is tarnished edition 2026 lol. That would be good trolling GG From

AnonymousLOL why is there still speculations, interview teasers and ??? for specs on the main page when SotE & Nightreign are already out.
Also, "'Elde' Ring Tarnished Edition" is annoying me.
AnonymousLOL why is there still speculations, interview teasers and ??? for specs on the main page when SotE & Nightreign are already out.
Also, "'Elde' Ring Tarnished Edition" is annoying me.
AnonymousThe best build in elden ring, (in my opinion,) is dual wield nagakiba +25 with seppuku ash of war and high dex. If you try this, you will not regret it.

AnonymousI'm going to say it, the lore in this game is garbled garbage, and it was never intended to be told with the Dark Souls framework of storytelling, I've got 700h in this game, and I still do not know what the Elden Ring even is or what happens in 80% of the endings, at least in DS if you wanted to ignore the "lore" or whatever else you wanna call it, you still have a good idea of what your objective was, and what would happen if you failed to achieve it.

AnonymousThe game is capped at 60fps but it's actually processing uncapped in the background. This translates to unnecessary heat for your GPU.
If you're experiencing oddly high temps like I was, cap Elden Ring to 60fps in your driver (NVIDIA Control Panel, Radeon Software, etc.). You will need to fully close and restart the game for it to take effect.
Case 1, driver uncapped:
- game shows 60fps
- gpu effective clock is 1890mhz
- gpu temp is >70°C
Case 2, driver capped to 60fps:
- game shows 60fps
- gpu effective clock is 900mhz
- gpu temp is <62°C
Both cases are constant 60fps at the Rauh Ancient Ruins (East), which is the most graphically-demanding location that I've found. The frame times for both are relatively flat within expectations as well, even in combat with Devonia and the spiral-cannon Fire Golem across the bridge. With the driver cap, I now have lower temps and quieter fans because processing power now matches the apparent frames per second, as it should.
Anonymousfrom just release the tarnished edition patch, who tf even owns a switch 2 anyway lmao

Anonymousthis is like the 2nd time in the past month that they update this website and accidentally remove the search bar

AnonymousDefinitely not me, deciding to step away from Fromsoft for a while (massive case of the burnouts), going to continue my playthrough of (of all things) AC Odyssey (I know, odd choice, palate cleansers are supposed to be "bite sized"); and ... within the hour I kid you not, I get a merc after me (accidental chicken slaughter, things snowballed quickly), named -"Ophelia, the Fashion Soul". Description: "While many chose their armor for how protective it was, or what material it was made of, Ophelia the Fashion Soul took a different approach. Every piece she wore was based purely on how much she liked the look of it. Colors, styles and materials, all combined into one glorious set worth praising". Using Sledgehammer, and poison bombs, with skills "Brawler" and "Shell Skin" (takes less damage from melee and ranged attacks respectively). I swear, it feels like Miyazaki personally lunge out of my TV screen, "The Ring" style, to yank me back in.

AnonymousSo, with Nintendo hard at work assembling the game dev world's Avengers (Anything from WotC, to Microsoft, to Sony and Squeenix and many more) against itself lately, what's the news on the Tarnished edition? still a thing? would be funny if it turned out this whole anti-summon thing they've got going on was in fact spearheaded by our resident Mani.

Anonymouswhen u come back to check on the 17 ragebaits u posted a couple days ago but the mods didnt approve any of them :(

AnonymousWhy tf is dlc stuff always shown first by default before the basegame stuff? It's stupid and annoying, stop it. It makes no sense that when i am on the page for e.g. sorceries, that i have to scroll/click through the DLC sorceries to be able to see the gallery for the basegame ones.

AnonymousJoe Rogan: "I am a thundering morally compromised brainwashed moron that is so brainrotted I basically live off hyperbolic right wing populism and I am so deeply insecure I can't function with my little echeleon of equally lonely and fragile yes men to get me through my miserable little life"

AnonymousIs this game not going to get updated anymore since Nighreign’s release?? PVP and co-op is unplayable because of the exploiters, and the game is still extremely unbalanced. They really left their game in a bad state

AnonymousAll Souls fromsoft >>>>>>> Elden Ring
Elden Ring is a good game to play on the first playthrough, but in ng+ you can see how boring, tiring and with ridiculous post-beat content this game is. By far the most tedious souls from fromsoftware, it doesn't even come close to Dark Souls trilogy, Bloodborne, Sekiro or Demon's Souls.
Anonymous
AnonymousBIG sad that they stopped using reoccuring voice actors from previous games. It got Patches and Thops, and that's about it. I am very disappointed.

AnonymousThe tarnished have mastered the exquisite art of making the most annoying hurt sounds known to man

AnonymousWelp, in the next game there'd better be no swords or other sharp/pokey implements, lest it anger the censor deity wannabes. Non-traumatizing magic damage all the way!

AnonymousI love this game it makes me forget that i don't want to live anymore

AnonymousFfs release Tarnished Edition already. I need a reason to make a new character.

AnonymousSo this game gets savaged by the community from day one yet Nightreign gets treated with kid gloves because it’s the shiny new toy for the chronically online and e-sporters. That tracks

Anonymous
AnonymousPSA: STOP SH*TTING ON SPLIT DAMAGE. I cannot stress this enough. Split damage always being worse than pure physical is a COMPLETE MYTH in Elden Ring. It was only true in dark souls 1-3, Elden Ring makes it so much more balanced. It genuinely pains me how much people think that having split damage on a weapon kills their build completely. It is fine and perfectly viable.

AnonymousI won. I beat 'em up. Did I feel a sense of accomplishment? no; did I feel a sense of satisfaction? no. Did I feel ... anything? Not really. The only thing I felt was pain; lots & lots of pain. And where else to lay my feelings to rest, but at the Round Table? And so I sat there, slowly losing my runes, slowly losing my mind. I think it was time to give up: 400 hours of Elden Ring later, I had leveled up 225 times; and the projected ideal level estimate had increased from 300, to 650. So- that's it, I haven't touched Elden Ring since. But, Miyazaki doesn't forget, and Miyazaki never forgives.

AnonymousDear visitors, it seems this page discussion has unfortunately been infested by the "insufferable" side of fromsoft fanbase. Half the comments are academic articles about why dark souls 1/2/3 and bloodborne were miles better in every single way or people telling others they didn't finish the game properly because they weren't playing blindfolded RL1 on a smart fridge locked to 12 fps with a dead pigeon as controller. I've looked through a few months of comments now (i was bored & too much free time) and found nothing that could possibly be worth your time or attention. Feel free to return to whatever you were doing and just enjoy the game however you like it, its great.

AnonymousEven if I had my share of issues with this game, I still had fun with ER, still, don't you ever dare say anything negative about this game online, you'd think you just committed a cardinal sin even committing the act of insinuating that this game might not be perfect.

Anonymous1000 hours in and I can safely say that this basically has no replay value, literally has no build variety and is immensely disappointing, also soldier of godrick needs nerfed, I can't believe I have to spend like an average 20 minutes fighting him at the start, trash game.

AnonymousThis is the only place i didnt asked for help bout this so yeah.
For some reason since i had this game it worked poorly i tried i think every fix possible but it doesnt work i expirience hard fps drops when dragons use fire attacks, walking mausoleum does the attack in snowfield, in dlc in ancient ruins of rauh, and in dlc on graveside plain or whatever the place is called. I play on pc and my set is more than enough for this game so i dont know i feel like i tried everything from reddit, everything from youtube, i even contacted support but they basicly said reinstall and go f*ck yourself few days ago i got response from them that they are investigateing the matter i have no clue if im the only one expiriencing this i just want to enjoy elden ring in smooth 60 frames because it makes my blood boil when i have 60 fps and then randomly it drops to 40-30 range
