Clawmark Seal is a Sacred Seal in Elden Ring. The Clawmark Seal is a Weapon for characters that wish to use beast Incantations without investing in faith. Seals can be used to cast certain spells that need to be memorized first. Sacred invocations must be selected in memory slots at a site of lost grace, and a sacred seal must be equipped in order to cast them by expending FP.
A sacred seal given by Gurranq, the Beast
Clergyman. A rare trinket which allows incantations to be scaled with strength.
The claw mark represents Gurranq's wrath. Enhances bestial incantations learned from Gurranq.
Where to Find Clawmark Seal in Elden Ring
The Clawmark Seal weapon can be found at the following location:
- Given by Gurranq Beast Clergyman after feeding him a Deathroot. Elden Ring Map Link
Elden Ring Clawmark Seal Notes & Tips
- Skill: No Skill.
- This weapon cannot be buffed with Ashes of War
- Clawmark Seal is upgraded by using Smithing Stones.
- Buffs the damage of all Bestial Incantations by 10%, stacking multiplicatively with Cinquedea.
- Note that if you are trying to purely maximize damage of Bestial Incantations, you will see better results by using the Erdtree Seal at high faith levels, in conjunction with either Cinquedea or an offhand Clawmark seal, since the spellbuff of the Erdtree Seal is so much higher that it more than makes up for the additional 10% bonus.
- Clawmark Seal really shines when used on high-Str characters who want a ranged/fast attack option, but don't want to invest heavily in another stat.
- Incantations cast with this seal also scale with strength; two-handing this seal will further increase incant scaling due to the 50% effective strength bonus. This extra scaling is not shown in the inventory. Strength and Faith investment offer equal weightage towards increasing this seal's incant scaling.
- At +25, with 43 Faith and 43 Strength the incant scaling softcaps at 280, after which increments to either Strength or Faith will provide much smaller boosts to incant scaling. Due to strength receiving a 50% bonus while two-handing, the softcap can be attained at just 29 strength and 43 faith by two-handing this seal.
- Only Faith applies to offensive buff Incantation scaling, making this Seal a bad choice for those using such spells (Bloodflame Blade, Electrify Armament, Black Flame Blade, etc) The same applies to healing spells.
- Bestial incantations include Stone of Gurranq, Gurranq's Beast Claw, Beast Claw, and Bestial Sling.
- It is wielded, but not dropped, by Azula Beastman Mages, to cast red lightning Incantations.

AnonymousThe seal is ideal for low faith, high strength builds.
The purpose of most of the bestial incantations and something like roar of rugalea is often to poise break, or last hit and give you mediocre damage but more variety for primarily melee builds.
Your damage comes from the giant piece of metal you're probably wielding.
At 35 strength, and 14 faith roar of rugalea is strong enough to stagger, take out or keep at bay large groups in the dlc.
You dont need much faith to be effective with this thing.
AnonymousBest seal for cosplaying a crucible knight. People keep whining it's not the most damaging thing in the universe, but what are you expecting? It's a seal for hybrid characters who have more strength than faith to be able to throw some rocks, lightning and/or fire at the opponent. Also found that crucible horns into Ordovis L2 is great for guardbraking, and this gives the horns a little bit of extra damage. If you want to nuke things from afar go full int or full faith, this is a seal for paladin characters.

AnonymousIt's a little sad that it only has a 10% boost to its incantations, which is the lowest of all the incantation/sorcery scaling bonuses, when bestial incantations already deal fairly little damage and the seal itself has very poor scalings to begin with

When dual sealing, alternate left and right for faster casting with beastial sling please have fun with this
AnonymousAfter reaching the softcaps on this it puts you in kind of a weird spot where levelling Str and Fth further barely does anything, but you have to put several more levels into Faith before you get better scaling on other seals. Not sure if I should keep going with the stats I've got or try respeccing to something different like Fth/Arc or what.

AnonymousInteresting equip this seal with the cinquedea get both bonus, but this seal have Str scaling so Two-Handing it add 50% more Str point to its scaling...
Let's we have 43 Str and 43 faith the scale of the seal is 280 but two-handling it we have 21 more point str and the scaling should be around litter bigger: around 292 (0.6 point per lv?) equal 4% buff. And even more when in Str build.
It might not much but we can maximize the damage of Gurag spells by this simple action.. Several damage point out of no where! Anything more juicier than that? . The same as the Frenzy Flame seal.
So the scaling might be not that low due to this hidden mechanic.

AnonymousEven if it doesn't have great scaling, im so glad this exists. Imagine wanting to use strength+faith weapons but having to invest 50+ points in faith before being able to cast decently...it'd take long before having all these levels to spare.
That being said, if ur a str/fai enjoyer, the spells id recommend are stone of gurranq, lightning spear, black flame, pest threads, and some protection/regen spells.
If u have dlc, the best ones imo are: fire serpent, knight's lightning spear, rotten butterflies, and pest thread spears.
Best game ever!!!!!!!!
AnonymousThis should have had at the very least an A scaling in Str. I get that you can 2h it, but investing into both str and fth just to reach the soft caps feels like you're just wasting stats. The spells that become available to you with higher fth will just underperform with the clawmark seal when compared to using some of the other seals. And said other seals(*cough* dragon communion) will also do better damage with bestial incantations at a similar stat investment on the respective stats. With a higher str scaling on the clawmark seal, you will at least get the idea that you can comfortably invest more into str after reaching the required amount of fth for the bestial incantations while still feeling like a bestial incantations specialist.

AnonymousI'm running a str faith build with 70 str and 43 fai. It lets me use most str and str/fai weapons at great effect and this seal just completes the build.
There are no heals or weapon buffs so it's no problem, and at those stats clawmark reaches 292 scaling which is great cuz I also run crucible set + godfrey icon.
Crucible horns, big boulder, crucible bloom, roar of rugalea...all good spells for the build.
Recommend this for str/fai mains since with this setup you'll rarely get bored
Anonymous
AnonymousVery niche use case but it does well at what it does. Stone of guranq still hits like a truck when at low faith but high strength with this seal equipped.

AnonymousFor neutral damaging spells (not bestial) that takes the full incant scaling (not FTH based only), once you hit 69 (nice) FTH, you should switch to Erdtree Seal.
Charged Frenzied Burst @ 40 STR/40 FTH:
+25 Clawmark (1H): 745 (!!)
+10 Erdtree: 590
Charged Frenzied Burst @ 69 STR/69 FTH:
+25 Clawmark (1H): 854
+10 Erdtree: 859 (!!)
Charged Frenzied Burst @ 80 STR/80 FTH:
+25 Clawmark (1H): 887
+10 Erdtree: 982 (!!)
Anonymousdoes the str incant scaling make this ideal for crucible knights?

I get that the incant scaling should be quite low, but at least the bonus percentage to bestial incantations could be way higher, something like 20%. I get that you can stack it with Cinquedea, but still sad. On top of that, the STR scaling should be higher than FTH scaling instead of both being equal, but still summing to the same total, it would be a lot more fun to use for STR builds. Like, currently its 1.2 STR 1.2 FTH at +25, could be like 1.8 STR 0.6 FTH or so.

Anonymous
AnonymousIronically would perform better if it had split Strength/Dexterity/Faith scaling over just Strength/Faith, since Dexterity determines Casting Speed. I've got a build that is primaily designed around optimizing the Bestial Weapons and Incantations, so I'm using the Beastclaw Greathammer and the Cinquedea, and since 40 Dexterity + Radagon Icon gives max Casting Speed and the Beastclaw Greathammer has more substantial Dexterity scaling than it does Faith, that's what I went with. 41 Strength and 39 Faith was all I could afford while still allotting enough points for Vigor and Endurance while remaining at RL 139 for online play, with a Great-Jar's Arsenal and Erdtree's Favor +2 for bulk and Flock's Canvas Talisman for damage to be swapped for other Talismans when needed, meaning anything that weighs less than 1 unit is fair game for being hot swapped on and off. The Omensmirk Mask gives relevant stats getting the build to 43 Strength, and Tree Sentinel Armor, Godskin Noble Gauntlets, and Crucible Greaves are all the most weight efficient armors that are required to reach the minimum 68 Poise for being able to Hyper Armor trade against two-handed Greatswords by using the Bull-Goat's Talisman, at 16 Endurance that gives just enough Equip Load to Medium Roll at 69.98% Equip Load (when using Flock's Canvas). 56 Vigor gives 7 more Health (at 1907) than a standard 60 Vigor 1900 Health build that isn't using Erdtree's Favor +2. All this means that the best starting class is Vagabond for it's minimal Arcane and Intelligence stats. This surprisingly leaves me with a build that doesn't use any DLC items, which is kind of disappointing to me, I'm surprised that Beast Builds didn't get any new tools specifically designed for them, they got nothing beyond the generic tools that are a benefit for most builds. For example: the Roar of Regulea is a generic Incantation for Faith builds, which that doesn't benefit from the Clawmark Seal or Cinquedea. Another example: Lulling Branches are essentially renewable Starlight Shards, which means they are nice to have but not groundbreaking improvements for PC builds where you either gave yourself an endless supply of them, or you were playing at a massive disadvantage online, meaning after about a year of online play I ended up caving and starting using them because it appears that FromSoftware just doesn't care beyond making me have to farm crafting materials for FP regeneration for some reason. Sorry, that got a little off topic, anyway I wish this had Quality/Faith scaling over Strength/Faith, thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

AnonymousEven if you meet the minimum stat requirements for the boulder incant it's still nice on a pure strength build. Won't be fully optimised but the damage is still decent and gives strength bros a ranged option

Doesn't get any buff from Two-Handed Sword Talisman when casting incantation with two handed. Instead, the R2 attack get the buff.

Anonymous...Why does this have a Strengh Requirement of 4 when every starting class has at least double that? Is there even an equipment combination that can give you a strength of less than 4?

I think it's the best seal for a strength/faith build. It's the one that has dealt the most damage in my tests, but healing isn't the best. Godslayer's Seal heals more and has better buff scaling.
Comparison with attributes: 80 strength / 42 faith.
» Clawmark Seal: 26,3% more damage than Godslayer's Seal.
» Godslayer's Seal: 25,5% more healing and 4,6% more buff damage than Clawmark Seal.
Anonymous
AnonymousI wish the boost to bestial incantations was a bit higher. Considering it's THE bestial incant seal, it honestly should get more out of these spells than just a regular seal with good scaling with a Cinquedea in the off-hand.
There's so many other seals that buff their set of spells by 15 or 20%, I just don't get why this one only gets 10. After all, it's not like Bestial Incantations are all that powerful.
Anonymous
I assumed this seal was evenly split because of the scaling. But from testing Great heal it seems to have a higher faith base or something? With 54str/29fth i have 258 incant scaling i heal 591hp. So it counted 162 of that 258 scaling. Almost 63% was counted despite me having much more strength.

AnonymousWas using this on my pure strength beast character, until I wanted to hoe in on the Beastclaws bleed ability. Made it occult and respect’s into arcane. Not only were the beastclaws doing way more damage, but beast incantations using a dragon communion seal more than doubled their output too! What is going on?

AnonymousAnyone know what the seal is supposed to be. What is the claw marked onto? Like the gravel stone seal, looks like a piece of gravel with a string attached. But I'm not sure what this is.

At least my STR-centric build won't be locked out of Black Flame.

AnonymousThis thing isn't optimal for a STR/FTH build, it is ideal. Just like with INT, the strongest spells are a rock to the face.

Anonymous40 strength, 20 dex and 30 faith. Did I waste smithing stones to bring it to +22?

AnonymousSTR/FAI is the most fun I've had with this game and I'd encourage anyone to give it a try. One thing to mention is, all seals/staves (not just the Clawmark Seal) have scaling thresholds that kick in at certain points for each stat they scale with. For this particular seal, those first "softcaps" are 30 STR and 30 FAI. I've seen a few comments here and elsewhere that you should just get the bare minimum requirements for the beast spells and stick with those, meaning cap FAI at 15, but the scaling doesn't quite reward pumping STR that much. At 80 STR and 15 FAI, the seal gets 221 incant scaling one-handed and 243 two-handed. But at 54 STR and 30 FAI, you get 261 incant scaling one-handed and 276 two-handed, which is not only a higher return, but fewer stat points invested. 80 STR is great for huge AR & STR scaling weapons like the Giant-Crusher, but AR isn't everything, and diversifying your build with more fun spells and weapons might be more rewarding!

AnonymousWent pure strength on my 1st playthrough as confessor and this let's me do so much while having high defense and a bonkin' damage up close. Awesome seal!

AnonymousThis thing facilitates the creation of STRENGTH SPELLBLADES.
So you get to one of the tankiest builds in the game while also being able to mix up your melee and ranged attacks.
I don't know how I didn't get sold on this thing sooner.
Anonymousthis game is the only game from Fromsoft ( that i know of ) that wrongly name either items or descriptions in french.....this seal's description, once translated says that it primairly scale from strenght, which is false.........an other example is : "undead" undead's word in french is "mort vivant" which means living dead, and they are called "non-mort" which is the most cringy looking word to call something undead a "not dead" ....i cannot believe these poor tranlations are still there since launch....even using google translate would be more reliable......................................seriously...would you be interested in a movie named like "the raising army of the not dead"? CRINGE!

AnonymousFor a low level invasion build, make your Physick give you +10 to both Faith and Strength for 3 whole minutes of like 40% more spell damage. Two hand it for even more.

AnonymousThis game would be a lot more fun and flexible if so many incantations didn't specifically scale with Faith as if to act as an unnecessary FU to trying to make cool builds. For example a simple Strength/Faith paladin with mostly strength would have a high seal incantation value but so what? Most of the cool incantations and all heals use Faith so... get used to throwing rocks I guess?

AnonymousAlthough it sucks when you realize that weapon buff incants only scale with Faith, you have to remember that the power balance would be WAY out of whack if you allow a full strength build to be able to have strong weapon buffs with minimum investment.
Let's say this wasn't the case: Hero starter class starts at 8 Faith. Bloodflame, Electrify Arm, and Blackflame require 12, 15, and 17 Faith respectively.
Only a 9 Faith investment (-5 with Two Finger Heirloom equipped) and now you just need to pump the rest in Strength and your buffs will still scale fairly well.
Yeah...that's really not balanced. I'm sorry Strength bros, it was not meant to be.
But think of the bright side, if weapon spell buffs scaled with all scalings on the catalyst, then Dex simps would be screaming nonstop that they didn't get a dex scaling seal for their weebsword bleed build.
AnonymousThis thing is BUSTED on a dedicated STR/FTH build. Incant scaling is insane *and* it is the only seal where you can boost it even further by two-handing it.

Anonymousreally hope the dlc will bring bestial incantions some love

Anonymousfor the life of me i will NEVER understand why weapon buffs only scale off faith. no fun allowed i guess, thanks fromsoft

Anonymouswish there were more than just 4 of the farum azula offensive spells, i really like the idea of strength-oriented physical damage spells. imagine a melee range claw swipe spell that functions kinda like the carian sword spells but for faith, maybe with a speed somewhere in between slicer and greatsword and with charging capabilities to differentiate it. i can picture it having similar animations to the beast claw from bloodborne. just a thought i had, hope they add more in the dlc

AnonymousWould rather have str/fth on the Giant's Seal so I can cosplay as a fire monk, but how well. This seal is serviceable enough.

AnonymousIs this up to data stats? My game shows 130 inc scaling at lvl1

AnonymousI don’t think people understand how epic this is. Screw fire giant seal and gravel stone seal, just use this. For every school of incantations there is a str/fth version available. Cranial stand, gods layer sword, golden halberd, dragon claw, etc. And fire ashes specifically scale purely off str scaling. Basically you can have good spell damage while getting the best weapon/shield you want. And, with two finger seal at or below 50 fth, you can run electrify armament or black flame blade. Ancient dragon lightning still one shots many builds at 30/45

AnonymousWeirdly enough all regen over time incantations are "good" on it, cause all of them don't scale with anything.,,

AnonymousFor those that don't know golden vow and other various aura buffs don't scale with anything making this seal completely viable for them. Now regular heal and heal over time incantations and weapon buffs do scale only with faith making this seal a bad choice for them, with exception of bestial vitality as it doesn't scale with anything but does heal for 600 hp in 30 seconds.

AnonymousNot quite as good as some of the others regarding buffs but the difference isnt worth leveling a second seal imo

AnonymousCan we get a list of spells that do not scale with Strength on this weapon? So far I've seen people say "offensive buffs", listing weapon buffs, but what about Golden Vow, an aura buff? I've seen people say "direct healing spells", but what about Blessing's Boon and other heal-over-time spells? This page would be a great place to collect a comprehensive list if anyone has found or tested anything.

AnonymousIf I wanted to do a 80 strength / 27 faith build for an Ordovis crucible knight build, would this be better than the finger seal for aspects of the crucible spells? The clawmark seal seems to be pretty sucky, but maybe my high strength will make up for it?

AnonymousI found with a tarnished that has 25 strength and 35 faith that using a weapon buff with the clawmark(CM) and godslayer (GS) seals that GS out buffs CM by a whopping 6 points.
TL:DR is that the seals are all comparable when using buffs so don't worry if your using a dual stat scaling seal
AnonymousI think you guys should put the upgrades list before the yt videos for all weapons. Imo people are here to see that more than some random yt videos

AnonymousThe perfect tool for STR primary builds that want to dabble into faith.
At 80 strength, this seal remains the strongest up to 70 faith.
At 55 strength it remains the best up to 62 faith.
With 80 STR and 30 faith you get 275 incant scaling. For a pure faith build you need 55 faith with godslayer seal to reach the same incant scaling.
With 275 incant scaling. lighting spear deals around 600 damage, which is bonkers for an unga bunga build that just wants to have some buffs.
AnonymousIf this seal was stronger it would be broken.
At 45/45 +25 its incant scaling is 80% of the erdtree seal with 80 fth (same stat investment). If you use the cinquadea in your other hand, the stacking bonus will make your bestial incants hit as hard as they would on a pure faith build. But you still have 45 stength, which becomes 55 with the +10 strength tear, which becomes over 80 if you two-hand your weapon. So you can still hit almost as hard as a pure strength build if you two-hand while having the option of decent spellcasting if you one-hand.
AnonymousThis thing may be better than nothing for pure strength builds, but probably not by a lot. I think one of the problems is that since it uses normal smithing stones, it's always going to be behind in upgrades compared to your other stuff, and combined with the lacklustre scaling, the damage you end up getting is really not much, and then you run out of FP and it's useless. Maybe at the end of the game if you get it to +25 and two-hand it, it might end up being okay, but I ditched it long before that point and just used a bow instead.

AnonymousUnfortunately, now that faith builds have been reduced to melee with buffs, there is no longer any reason to use this because of the scaling issues.
Rest in peace my pre-1.5 clawmark combos, it was fun while it lasted.
AnonymousI wish this upgraded with somber stones. My fire build is more of a farmer build with how hard it is to maintain this + a weapon that can take flame strike

AnonymousWhile the Seal alone is pretty weak when using other incants besides Bestial ones, you should also note that Bestial Incants deal physical damage and you can increase the damage of those incants by using the Blue Dancer Charm and when compared to other damage increasing talismans, like Scorpion charms, you dont run the risk of increase damage taken. However, you do have to risk either running naked or on the lowest possible weight load so you can maximize on your damage. So you can effectively run Blue Dancer Charm, Flock Canvas Talisman, Clawmark Seal and Cinquedea with a weight of 6.9, add a few gear that doesn't reach 8 weight load, to maximize to the damage bonus that BDC gives, so if you are looking to do a naked Bestial Incant only run this is your best setup you can achieve.

Anonymousis this the best seal for STR/FTH builds that spec more into STR?

AnonymousQuick question for someone who knows more about the game than me: I'm doing a STR/FTH build (60 STR, 40 FTH) with Aspect of the Crucible Incantations and some other general purpose ones. From what I understand, this is the best Seal to use for my build with my current stats + leveling up FTH past 45 yields diminishing returns due to the softcap. Am I correct, or should I be doing something different to get the most damage out of my Incantations?

AnonymousThis thing should really soft cap at 40/40 like everything else. The investment is already very high, trying to do a 125 meta level build is pretty stat hungry considering the whole point of str is to be able to use the chunky weapons which requires more of an investment in endurance. On the upside you will do more melee damage, but as melee is sort of underpowered anyway this could really use a balance check. Not to mention it doesn't scale weapon buffs with the actual incant scaling just fth. Str/fth is already a pretty limited build, why does this seal require so many stat pts to be less effective than other seals? For pvp anyways. Combine this with the fact thr FP talisman is actually useless you can't even really get away with shaving pts off mind to bump up your scaling and stay a solid caster. So basically dual stat scaling builds are underpowered at 125 which they really should not be, vigor is a must, using radagons soreseal makes you extremely squishy. Don't get me started on dark magic builds that whole aspect is completely neglected and unfinished. Why is there only 1 weapon in the entire game that scales with int/fth? Kinda blows my mind how we have less build variety than in DS3.

Anonymous2-handing only increases my damage by 4%. This is at 77 str and 55 fai, 303 inc scaling.

AnonymousI plan on making a bestial warrior build using 60 str and 15 fth for all the beast incantations, will lthat he viable with this seal?

AnonymousThis is probably a dumb question, but if I have 80 STR/30 FTH and cast both Golden Vow and Flame, Grant Me Strength, will the 15% and 20% (respectively) buffs be increased, or will they stay at 15% and 20% regardless of stats/seals?

Viable spellcasting for a strength build with barely any investment into int, fth, arc. Great for evening the playing field against actual spellcasters. Pocket sand will never let you down. (Can also use other low requirement non-bestial incants like catch flame to decent effect)

AnonymousWith both strength and faith cranked high enough on this, would Clawmark potentially outpace a high-faith Eritrea seal? (I'm still a bit confused when interpreting the "scaling" column of the upgrade table)

AnonymousAt 80 Strength and 15 Faith is it pointless using this seal for weapon buff incantations like Electrify Armament? Seems like it doesn't do much extra damage and I'm wasting FP.

AnonymousI swear that I'm drawn to these odd scaling spell casting tools, in Dark Souls 1 it was the Tin Darkmoon Catalyst (which is now my favorite spell casting tool in that game), in Dark Souls 3 it's the Golden Ritual Spear for it's seemingly good synergy with Farron Flashsword. Now there's this, while this caught me completely off-guard when reading the description for the very first time, looking at it now I see a ton of potential, at the minimum of 15 Faith for all of the Bestial Incantations you also get:
1. Flame, Grant Me Strength!
2. Rejection
3. Poison Mist
4. All Elemental Fortification spells
5. Flame, Clense Me!
6. Pest Threads
7. Flame Sling
8. Assassin's Approach
9. Catch Flame
10. Whirl, O Flame!
11. Surge, O Flame!
Now if you go to 20 Faith you also get:
1. Lightning Spear
2. Black Flame
3. The Flame of Frenzy
4. O, Flame!
It may not be a lot but it grants you some Lightning damage and the Black Flame's DoT effect, plus this gives a mostly melee build access to a number of ranged offensive options for less weight than a Bow of some kind and freeing up the Ash of War slot on your weapons. I would have never come up with this idea myself, whoever came up with this was a genius.
AnonymousDoes the scaling work on heals and weapon buffs now or is that still faith only?

Anonymousthis, frenzy flame, or some other seal for a 50/50/40 quality faith build?

Anonymousthis, frenzy flame, or some other seal for a 50/50/40 quality faith build?

AnonymousThere seems to be a cap on two handing incant scaling. Been testing magic on the Omen (unaware) right outside the grace room (Underground Roadside), maxed out on the relevant stats (str+fth) and Stone of Gurranq does 887 damage both one hand and two hand.

AnonymousAs of now it is really good for giving mostly strength builds some extra options, but not good for anyone with middling or more faith investment. It's just ok I wouldn't mind seeing a small incant scaling buff for it.

AnonymousCurrently running a faith build with a dexterity focus for melee. This has me re-considering, however. Is it worth switching to strength while still keeping my focus into faith? Or should I try something else?

AnonymousRemember to equip this in your left hand, so that you're forced to two-hand it while on horse. Doing so will apply the +50% dmg. This does not happen if it's kn the right hand.

AnonymousI upgraded the seal from +6 to +7 and the damage with the lighting bolt is now less then before. Seems something is wrong with the scaling since it has C stat scale after the upgrade. On +6 i killed low lvl sheeps with 478 dmg and now on +7 only with 358 dmg.

AnonymousSomething strange happened with my seal after upgrading from +6 to +7. The damage decreased of the lightning bolt.
+6 with 142 Inc scale and D stat scale 487 damage on a sheep with lightning bolt
+7 with 144 Inc scale and C stat scale 358 damage on a sheep with lightning bolt
i did not change anything only upgrading the seal, any ideas why?
is this worth using on a mostly pure strength build with 16 faith for the bestial incantations?

AnonymousIs it possible to make this seal work with just 60 Strength alone? Hard-pressed for stats as a 125 and I’m wondering if I could alter my build to fit using Bestial incantations too.

AnonymousSo, I did some calculations on this and the clawmark seal's Strength and Faith scaling appear to be exactly equal, until the Faith softcaps at 45. In other words, to get the most out of this seal you will want to 2-hand the seal and distribute your strength and faith in a 2:3 ratio, until you reach 30 Strength / 45 Faith. (for one-handing, obviously the ratio is 1:1 until 45 Strength/45 Faith)
If you have more stats to pump into this setup, every further point should go into Strength for maximum gains. Strength will give more benefit than Faith all the way to 99 Strength/45 Faith.
Str/Fai => Incant scaling (1-handed / 2-handed):
30/45 => 256.0 / 280.0
45/45 => 280.0 / 292.2
54/45 => 285.0 / 300.0
66/45 => 291.7 / 310.0
80/45 => 299.4 / 321.7
99/45 => 310.0 / 337.2
Depending on your level and build, 30/45 and 54/45 are likely to be the most optimal choices.
AnonymousIf going as a strength and faith build, carrying two seals around (while slightly annoying) would be optimal. Put clawmark in your right hand (for offensive spells), and a different seal in your left with better faith scaling for buffs to apply on your right-handed weapon. An even stat spread of 45/45 is your best option for clawmark as well, totaling 280 incantation scaling at +25. Everyone hating on this seal is trying to use it for everything, which is very suboptimal. Buffs/healing only scale from faith, and this seal caps out at B scaling. Use literally anything else with an S scaling for buffs/healing, and enjoy the "best" of both worlds.

AnonymousThe only way this thing is worth using is with high str and low(ish) to middling fth. In any other reasonable scenario you're better off casting with another seal and just using this as a passive boost for beast spells in your offhand.
For example at 60str and 30fth, this is the best Sacred Seal with 264 incant scaling. For reference, the Dragon Communion Seal sits at 266 incant scaling with the same 30fth and only 29arc. Yes you can twohand the Clawmark Seal for a bit more power but that doesn't change the fact that it requires quite a lot more investment for little benefit.
What it boils down to is this:
Use the Clawmark Seal if you're running a str character that also dabbles into fth a bit. Like, enough fth for access to the good buffs (30 to 45 at most) and only the occasional offensive incantation.
How well does this Seal + Beast Incants perform on a Pure Strength 60-80 Str/ 13 Fth build compared to 40 Str/ 40 Fth?

AnonymousStrength/Faith has always been a combo we've wanted to make work, but has always been iffy due to which stat to prioritize, your faith for your spells or your strength for your melee. They've made weapons with faith scaling in the past, but now we finally have the reverse: a casting tool with strength scaling. No longer must you level faith first to empower your lightning, you may opt to increase your strength to meet requirements for bigger weapons and still be gaining casting power.

AnonymousSince golden vow and fire grant me strength are flat effects and this seal doesn’t strength scale weapon buffs, when would a strength character actually make good use of this? I don’t get it.

AnonymousAt lower levels and lower upgrade this seems to be the best Seal around (I'm around level 50, with around 25 both Faith and Strength, and +6 Seals)

AnonymousDoes a 15 fth, 12 arcane then pump strength for a strength/Dragon build sound dumb to you? I' only have enough mind for one breath, but I think using flame give me strength and fire bonk with very occasional dragon spell might be fun, if not optimal. Also catch flame chain casted into theodorixs magma is just so nice, sometimes it glitches out, just wave your hand slap a magma ball into reality.

AnonymousThis seal pretty much looks like Vicar Amelia's amulet from Bloodborne. Would fit the beast theme they are going for. And grasping it with both hands for more power just heightens the resemblence. But this might just be my silly opinion.

Anonymous
Anonymousany other seal is better, unless you two hand this bad boy with high af STR, but then you run around like a power ranger trying to morph the whole fight

Anonymousgodsend for str builds
2 handing this gives 50% increased str towards incant scaling
AnonymousI'm definitely making a strenght/faith build for my next playthrough.
With certain classes, you can pretty much just put 1 point into faith and you will have all bestial incantations available.
AnonymousThe incant scaling is quite weak, so only really worth using if you have high strength but not high faith. If your strength and faith are equal then faith-scaling seals will provide higher incant scaling than the Clawmark Seal can.

AnonymousMan I absolutely slept on this, I didn't notice this scale off strength. I thought strength is the most boring stat this time but now I'm not so sure.

Anonymous

This is only worth it if you use it alongside Cinquedea for a total of 20% bonus damage to bestial incants.
Cinquedea also has high damage for a dagger and scales with strength, resulting in a unique playstyle.
