Bloody Helice is a Heavy Thrusting Sword in Elden Ring. It is wielded by dynastic servants of the Lord of Blood. The Bloody Helice scales primarily with Arcane and Dexterity and is a good Weapon for Piercing Damage and additional blood loss along with a complementing Unique Skill, Dynast's Finesse which allows the user to avoid an attack and follow up with a strong attack.
Ominous piercing sword with a winding blade. Carried by the noble servants of the Lord of Blood.
Designed to bore into flesh, causing severe blood loss at the wound. The extracted blood trickles gracefully down the length of the blade.
Where to Find Bloody Helice in Elden Ring
The Bloody Helice weapon can be found at the following location:
- In the Writheblood Ruins
in Altus Plateau, found in a chest after the boss. [Elden Ring Map here]
Elden Ring Bloody Helice Notes & Tips
- Weapon Skill: Dynast's Finesse
- This weapon cannot be infused with Ashes of War
- Can't be buffed by Magic or Consumables
- Bloody Helice can be upgraded by using Somber Smithing Stones
- Its weapon art is a back-stepping dodge, an R2 attack used during this animation will cause the player to follow up with a heavy forward thrust. An additional R2 input will cause the player to utilize a two hit combo follow up attack. All parts of the weapon art utilize additional FP.
- The spinning dodge costs no FP if one has not met the stat requirement to use the weapon, which can be used by pure caster builds to evade attacks right after casting spells, however, it would not have the damage immunity.
- This weapon has a unique R2 shared with Dragon King's Cragblade, this also affects its feint animation.
- The R2 attack is a heavy forward thrust
- The Feint attack is similar to the standard heavy thrusting sword moveset, but it features a wider arc on the backward sweep attack
- While the Bloody Helice is intended to be a Dex Arcane weapon, the weapon scaling and bleed buildup is primarily affected by Arcane stat alone, meaning that a Strength Arcane build with at least 19 Dexterity can utilize both the Bloody Helice and a greatshield simultaneously, which offers high mobility and good defense.
- Sell Value:
200 Runes. - NOTE: As of Patch 1.08, the speed of Heavy Thrusting Swords crouching attacks has been reduced. Also the stagger caused by double-handed Heavy Thrusting Swords jumping attacks has been reduced. And finally, Poise damage has also been reduced, but only for PVP.
- NOTE: As of Patch 1.09, the scaling values of this weapon were changed. Please refer to the Upgrades Table of this weapon below.
- The name Helice, (pronounced "EE-leese") also spelled Hélice, is French for "helix" as well as "propellor".

AnonymousI gotta find a way to make money off this, it's simply too good!

Anonymous
AnonymousBro arcane weapons are insane. This bad boy, obsidian lamina, mohg’s spear, and more…

Anonymous
AnonymousThis is the drippiest weapon in the game imo. Drippin while dancing around enemies, jumping on them with that long thrust, running after them like a missile, tricking them with a faith. Paired this with blood oath spells and the drip is unreal. Use the skill to get away, in pvp you can use bloodflame talons to catch them if they come to you, after that cast blade of ansbach for a saucey combo.

AnonymousCan you believe the loc team mistranslated "helix?" Classic low budget indie game fail.

Anonymous
AnonymousI used to main this weapon in the past and now made a n arcane character. In the dlc rn and dude this thing js destroys divine beast and their smaller imitations wow

AnonymousRunning a bloodflame build on Convergence and tried this out because the great katanas, while fun, just weren't hitting the spot. I thought I'd hate this (I'm a GS kinda guy), but I couldn't have been more wrong. The poke moveset is surprisingly useful, the damage is great, and the iframes and poise damage on the weapon art are just insane.

AnonymousThis is how I started my final playthrough after hours and hours try-harding with strength builds in pvp, and the path I recommand.
- Start with hero, as they already have the 16 str requirement of Bloody Helice, good arcane and 7 int is perfect for min-maxing as we absolutely don't need int in this build. Of course samourai / bandit work too, but they gonna be a tiny little bit less optimal for late game occult weapons options (Gkat, Mogh spear, great stars). Not a big deal otherwise.
- Grab as soon as possible the Radagon soreseal in Fort Faroth, and the right Dectus Medallion
- Grab as much runes as you can to increase by 5 dex (9+5+5 (soreseal)= 19) and arcane by 6.
- Go to Fort Haigth and grab the keft side of Dectus Medallian.
- Now you can ride as fast as you can to Grand Lift of Dectus, using every shortcut.
- Travel to Writheblood Ruins
- Now start the tricky part. Sanguine Noble can be deadly at low levels. He has however low stance and is easy to stagger, so you can rush on him as soon as you pass the fogwall and break his stance with two charged attacks of a greatsword (claymore for exemple), even unupgraded, then critic him, rinse and repeat. If you have enough stamina (or regen with pickeld turtle) he's gonna be trap in infinite stance-break loop until he dies.
- Now you can grab the Bloody Helice, which is an elegant, efficient and very funny weapon to use.
AnonymousMax drip, check...Max Edge, check...Good scaling, check...MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAH

AnonymousBandit is optimal start for this only considering weapon requirements. Conveniently that’s also the class that can run Reduvia at start. Gets even juicier once you remember str 2H rules: 16/1.5=11. Plus you get a bow to aim kukri and the fastest parry from the start. Fun run, quick to setup. Would recommend.

Just done playing with the weapon.
Great scalings, great skill, great stance damage from skill.
S tier weapon really.
Gonna try Obsidian Lamina too, expecting no less.
AnonymousRecently did a playthrough using thrusting swords and this weapon is so goated, extremely fun to play with

AnonymousJust another cringworthy bleed weapon, alongside with rivers of blood.

AnonymousI'm pretty sure this thing is just utterly cracked, the only times I've pulled it out alongside my trusty Brass Shield has been for Malenia and the Blackgaol Knight in the DLC. It shredded both. The r2 staggers blackgaol knight, so if you can get a parry you can trick him into a panic r1 for another knockdown>r2. As for malenia this is probably one of the only things that will let you use a shield against her and win. The only times my LSSS has failed

AnonymousThis really should have a paired moveset with reduvia, but as it is they still absolutely slap as a pairing. Reduvia allows you to keep bleed buildup going from a distance and quickly swipe at small in-your-face enemies that heavy thrusting swords tend to whiff right over. Ditch that greatshield and fight like a noble.

AnonymousIt pains me that we can’t wield the reduvia in the off hand like the sanguine nobles do. Heck they can even throw the damn reduvia and parry with it. And the stance they do with it is just too saucy. When I see enemy’s powerstancing two different weapon classes I just feel so jealous of what fromsoft is keeping from us

Anonymous
AnonymousMy beloved, beat Malenia without getting hit using this weapon on NG+7

Anonymous
AnonymousWish it had 110 crit imo this would be cool with a buckler drip-wise but I guess it might be too strong.

AnonymousMy name is Sancho! And I, Sancho, declare upon my honor: this lance shall end that festering, slothful dream!

AnonymousI wanted to use this in my bleed character, but i really don't know if i could swap eleonora's poleblade for this, that thing makes the game so easy it's not even funny.

AnonymousIf you could use that AoW that makes you fly, gyrate, and sting the enemies... You would literally FLY with this weapon.

Anonymous
>is heavy thrusting sword
>amazing ash of war that does pierce damahe
>amazing design
>has bleed
this is the best pvp bleed weapon
Anonymous
AnonymousI need someone here to explain why the bloody helice on 80 arcane procs bleed in 3 hits with 102 bleed but compared to the great katana with occult infusion with 108 bleed it needs 5-6 hits. It doesn't make sense to why a weapon with a higher bleed stat need more hits to proc bleed compared to a weapon with lower bleed stat?

AnonymousThis weapon completely killed my elden ring enjoyment. I can't use any other weapons.

Anonymousany talisman setups for this weapon? tryna discover the love for this weapon because it looks cool

AnonymousThere's 0 hyper armor on the L2+R2 combo so it doesn't trade well. Even with 105 poise. I'm throwing it away.

Anonymous
Anonymous
AnonymousIdk queeligns greatspear does 133 blood build up with bloodhound step on blood affinity. I want to love this weapon but the queeligns spear procs blood faster in my turtle build

Anonymousoverall a very solid weapon. Carried me through the entire dlc.

AnonymousGreat weapon for Dragon Communion Builds aiming to use Bayle incants and Greyoll's roar. Thanks to the huge Arcane Scaling it doesn't lose out on putting points towards faith for Greyoll's Roar and keeping your Arc at the minimum for using Bayle's Flame Lightning. This weapon's move set as well as the respectable cost for the AOW will let you deal with invaders if your Breath Attacks don't do it first. It also fits the more European look of the Drake Knight armor than the Land of Reeds weapon Eleanora's poleblade obviously is.

AnonymousA very good weapon for reacting to swift slash
skill counters swift slash
A heavy thrusting sword eats the basic move set of backhand blades alive.
AnonymousEvery playthrough I swear I won’t end up using this weapon again… and do
It’s just too good. HTS moveset with those cracked running R2s, clean ash of war, blood buildup, high damage and it looks stylish as ****.
Anonymous
AnonymousMay counter swift slash spammers idk I haven't done extensive testing yet. Aside from that 10/10 weapon would cause someone immeasurable pain again.

AnonymousGotta be one of the most fun to use and best looking weapons in the game. Using this with arcane only & it hits like a damn mohgwin dynast. Shoutout to ma boy bloody helice gotta be one of my favorite genders

AnonymousToo many people enjoying this weapon in the comments, someone needs to admit that it sucks solely out of contrarianism

Anonymous
Anonymous
AnonymousMy primary weapon since I first found it in the base game! Love everything about it; pairing it with the new perfumer weapons (I run frenzyflame) helps cover its weakness of fighting groups, too!!

AnonymousFantastic weapon art to use against Rellana. You can tap the weapon art when she comes in aggressive and depending on if she is doing a short or long combo continue pressing until she stops, then punish with the follow up. Totally changed the fight for me and made it actually enjoyable :) It's great for punishing most ultra-aggressive enemies this way.

Anonymousis there anything with a dodge like the weapon art on this, I don't know if I can go back to not having it

AnonymousMost badass and stylish weapon in the game with insane potential expecially in PvP.

AnonymousThe very name of this weapon is very telling of those who use it. Helice...He...Lice...'He' cannot be completed without 'Lice' therefore those who use this have Lice. Do with that what you will.

Anonymous
Anonymous
Anonymousash of war is borderline game changing. granted you need to know when and how to use it, but its basically a counter from an action game if you pull it off just right. think of raging fists from ffxvi when using this.

AnonymousThis weapon's ash of war actually has a really unique niche of dodging backstab attempts.
You cover a lot of distance on backstep, and active iframes make you immune to the grab - BUT enemies fishing for them still get stuck in the animation for it, which is noticeably long for anything bigger than a greatsword.
The followup R2s buffed tracking also means you get an easier time clipping whoever attempted the backstab.
It's not an optimal strategy - baiting out backstabs isn't safe with all the misicordes and dagger talismans around - but it's something no other weapon can do, or at least not something they can do as well.
Anonymous
AnonymousThis is strong asf, versatile and quick. Top tier drip too. Goated

AnonymousMy only complaint is finding flashy regalia to fully compliment the pain this thing inflicts.

Anonymousarguably one of the most brutal design weapons in the game, a knife with the same corkscrew blade (called a spiral knife), which getting stabbed by one would leave a wound that would be almost impossible to stitch up and cause horrible bleeding. now this thing is MUCH larger then a knife, and since your character is superhuman, they CAN stab someone fully with this thing. if they don't die from the stab, the blood loss would be fetal. though it is used by the followers of the lord of blood.

Anonymousheavy attack should have been the move where he scrapes the sword across the ground and flings blood at you

AnonymousWhat I usually use to beat the Great Jar champions. Block with greatshield and poke until they bleed to death.

Wow. Looks great. Moveset not overly flashy. A nice long poke and heavy stance damage on charged strong attack. And an awesome Ash of War with lots of i-frames and then a high stance damage thrust. I just "discovered" this weapon after hundreds of hours. While this is better as an ARC weapon, I'm a DEX guy with only 10 ARC, but add a Tear Mask and I've got a fun and effective new weapon to add to my arsenal.

Anonymousrealizing the first L2 has I-frames made the AoW go from "sure ok whatever" to "holy ****ing ****"

AnonymousBeautiful design, skill is so fun to use and cheap too. Only problem I can find is it's good against single targets and struggles against multiple enemies. But you can keep an occult weapon like a whip to deal with groups. Overall one of the most fun weapons I tried

Anonymous
AnonymousUsing this on a pure arcane build and it still hits like a truck despite the minimal Dex investment.

Anonymous
Anonymousawesome weapon.
the cleanrot knights from halightree fell like a bag of sh*t
AnonymousPVP aside, using this weapon has been the easiest playthrough I've had so far.

Anonymous
AnonymousThis thing looks sick as hell, honestly an entire argument for going Arcane in and of itself for the sheer drip factor.

AnonymousGonna need a minimum four page lore explanation from the etymological rebel who was desperate to avoid the word helix, because wtf

Anonymousi swear even the dagger has comments like "this is broken" "baby mode weapon". This is really a cool design and a nice weapon to use. as broken as every focused build on the game.

AnonymousThe fact that you don't get a unique moveset when you wield this main hand, and reduvia off hand, is the entire reason I gave Elden Ring a 9/10 instead of a 10/10.
Both weapons are freakin cool in their own right though, so still good job on Elden Ring's part.

AnonymousNOTE: Warrior Shard / Alex's Shard DOES work with this and will increase the damage of the follow up R2

AnonymousThe thing people switch to when they have too hard of a time dodging my prelate crozier

AnonymousSomeone from a discord server of mine pointed out that the shape of this thing looks similar to Miquella's Needle. I actually think thats so genius when you consider the fact that this is carried by MOHG'S servants, the guy who kidnapped Miquella in the first place.

AnonymousI might just be bad and that's fine, but this weapon got me salty as **** in PvP when used with swarm of flies lol

Anonymousbleed build up, spammable running r2s, baby mode l2 and the longest weapon in its class? this thing is gonna be the new waterfowl when that inevitably gets renerfed into the ground, i'm calling it

Anonymous
Anonymousprobably the only dedicated bleed weapon I don't audibly sigh at when I see it in pvp

Anonymous
Anonymous
Saw a guy no damaged godfrey on SL1 with this. is it really that good?

AnonymousFighting the HTS weapon class is not the most fun experience in ER's PvP to be having for sure, but I gotta say this weapon looks really cool! And its AoW is extremely stylish.

Anonymousstep 1. open google
step 2. search "how to play elden ring with l2 and r1"
step 3. open this page
step 4. profit

The best weapon to compliment a dex arcane build. Most of those weapons deal slash damage. Slash has one weakness; armoured enemies. Stone, metal, chitin, scale and bone on an enemy protects them. Pierce is good to use on metal and scaled enemies- strike for all the rest. The aow is a is great on oppressive enemies that counter the aggressive nature of arcane builds. The Obsidian Lamina just falls short massively because it can't make up for the weakness of this build. Hand to Hands Arts are also good because it's one of the only strike type weapon classes that don't require strength and is decent in keen, blood and occult.
