AnonymousIt's a really good sword, the only issue I get is poise damage since it doesn't do that much compared to other options. Fp usage is pretty high but with that one talisman it's just fine. Good sword in general but wouldn't use it against bosses with high fire damage negation.

AnonymousIf you find yourself complaining online that people love this cool sword, that's your cue to go outside and take a sprint! :)

AnonymousIt's hard not to use this sword on a faith build. Sacred kind of sucks late game and theres almost no flame art AoWs to put on regular weapons, and all the better ones are locked behind the dlc.

AnonymousPulled it out for Golden Hippo along with mimic. Did the job. Very satisfying. That hippo can go to hell.

AnonymousAnyone notice that this sword looks almost exactly like the sword rykard pulls out of the serpent's mouth during the transition to the second phase of the bossfight? Just a bit smaller

Anonymous"Th-Thank you, Blasphemous Blade Man."
"Blasphemous Blade?"
"Because, um... you were fighting with a Blasphemous Blade."
"Oh yeah."
AnonymousI was going to comment how the little red tentacles/snakes make the Blasphemous Blade look almost exactly like the sword used by the final boss of the game Blasphemous [hers was wrapped in cloth, but it was still a big sword with a slick bloody texture and little red coils sticking out] and ask if anybody knew or thought it was an intentional homage; but apparently this comment section is entirely for complaining about or needlessly defending how cheap it is.

AnonymousIf youre more focused on weapon usage than spells, stop leveling faith at 50 and get more vigor, endurance, and mind to comfortable levels; or even more str/dex to unlock more armaments. This is because elemental damage gets most of the returns at 50 faith

AnonymousPeople crying and soying about a weapon that can be obtained legally and went to countless patches is so funny. As long as you didn't use cheats or sequence breaking glitches on purpose, you played and beat the game correctly end of story. Whether you decide to do it at RL1 with an unupgraded Weathered SS or use every buff, high level and spirit ash/online summon available to you is the player's decision.
The Crescent Falchion in Demon's Souls and The Black Knight Weapons in Dark Souls were also obtainable within the first few hours of the game, even for noobs. Experienced players could get them within the first 30 minutes and I haven't seen people complaining about these. Hell, the Sellsword Twinblades were a starting class weapon in DS3 and stayed OP until the endgame.
AnonymousI think it's good that there are weapons like this in the game to make it more accessible for people who find it too difficult otherwise, but I also think it's unfortunate how many people choose one very strong weapon like this, the BH fang, Moonveil, the GUGS, etc. to use forever and never explore the massive build variety this game has. Trying out so many different builds and weapons on my first playthrough is what made me fall in love with this game more than anything else, so it's a little saddening to see how few people choose to share in that experience in favor of just blasting through the game.

AnonymousTo those having a hard time landing it in pvp here's a tip, free aim it don't lock on you won't regret it.

AnonymousTo those here to do research-- pay no mind to the haters below. This is an insanely fun weapon. I beat the game a few years ago with the Nightrider Glaive (flaming strike AoW), while dual wielding magma blades. Came back to the NG+/DLC and found a new love with the broken Blasphemous Blade-- still have those magma daddies on my hip. Play the game your way and enjoy the beautiful art and storytelling that this game has to offer.

AnonymousDon't put points into STR/DEX until you're very high level. I see so many people make this mistake. Taker's Flames only scales with faith.

Anonymoustourist mode: activated
can also activate journalist mode by using this in tandem with tiche/mimic tear
AnonymousBase AR is so high that even with min str/dex faith builds get as much damage as infused claymore, and with max stats has damage of a colossal; highest passive healing; one of the most damaging ashes of war which also heals you negating blood sucking tier, rakshasa set and scorpion charm downsides; best on the build with best buffs; available early and easy to upgrade. The only downside it has - it's so OP that you switch weapons to have some challenge.

AnonymousAfter slamming my head against Radahn, promised consort for hours spread across days, I caved, respecced into strength and faith, pulled out this sword and got it done in 5 tries.
Holy hell, to hell with that boss, to heaven with this sword
AnonymousIt’s good, but it’s not my favorite. How are people calling this weapon cheese? It seems perfectly balanced to me.

AnonymousThis **** was so broken that I had to stop using it in order to get a challenge

AnonymousThis weapon is not tuff, and those who use it lack the aura of a souls veteran such as myself.
#no skill
#trash
#you didn’t beat the game
Anonymous
I didn't use this on my first playthrough but picked it up this time after Leyendell and...whoa. It really does overwhelm almost everything. If the weapon art had a little more range, you might as well be a mage.

Anonymous>using my HOLY paladin build for co-op
>its a blasphemous blade user and we're at RADABEAST smh
>he overwrites my old Lord's talisman buffed buffs by casting his worse ones and one I've already done on himself?
>i hard carry radagon by keeping aggro and dealing stance while he deals solid dmg by spamming takers flame
>he gets instantly bodied on elden beast by running directly into the SCRIPTED breath attack at the start
I'm sorry but as much as I'd love to defend this weapon due to it looking cool, the jokes about the users write themselves. if we're being honest, 99% of the people using this weapon are purely doing it because it's OP metaslop and are just copying the same copypasted likely outdated build guide off of youtube, it's not even the the most fun or coolest OP weapon either, look at wing of astel, same idea of L2 spam but it also gets a nice projectile R2 and do some crazy stance damage, i really don't wanna be that person but the point is that this weapon is so busted that it literally take no skill, due to the range and aoe you can be as far away as the average int build while still being nore likely to hit and do way more stance damage, and the most broken thing is the absurd healing, basically when you're using this weapon you can kill every boss in the game in around 5-15 L2s in base NG with the optimal setup, while also not having to be anywhere near the boss, and healing yourself constantly so when you do take damage its barely an issue, this weapon is so stupidly busted literally anyone could beat the game with it with 0 issues, but the main problem with this weapon is that no one actually want to learn the bosses and *complete* the game when using it, they simply want the sastifaction of seeing the end credits roll, and i guarantee you, just like my co-op earlier, none of these people recognize even half of the main bosses movesets, they simply want to taker's flame their way through the entire game instead of having an unique experience learning and fighting the bosses, of course play how you want it's not like i have any control over that, the main thing is to have fun, but i guarantee you, this a good chance it will be much more satisfying and fun gaming experience to try your own build, learn the bosses, and actually take you're time defeating them and exploring their areas, it is honestly very disappointing that every other phantom i see is just running this same metaslop and gets eviscerated the moment the boss is up close and their panic rolling doesn't work, honestly makes me feel a little bad for them like their just forcing themselves to play the game atp and just want to beat it already instead of learning it, and seriously, how the does one even die to a scripted move that you can literally just walk away from?
AnonymousShould've had an unmeatified version or something without fire damage, because this doesn't match with any armor (I think)

AnonymousWish this game was more balanced… there are hundreds of weapons in this game yet majority of the players use this. It’s a great weapon, just saying it’s a shame people don’t try out other things

AnonymousI recommend not using this weapon until ng+ or another playthrough once you've already beaten the game. Not trying to gatekeep, you do you, I just recommend it if you wanna have the most fun experience first time playing the game

Anonymous
Anonymouslooks the most like gaels sword if there was a broken greatsword i would have used it but the color looks good, also my first time using this weapon everyone says it is great but i will see

Anonymouswat does this have to do with the blasphemous game i dont get it

AnonymousIf you’re the type of person who just spams the ash of war on this, you have no skill. I’m sick of getting summoned for co-op and seeing people use this sword and nothing else. Half the time it misses, and they never bother to swing the sword, they just use the AoW. Learn how to do combat properly. Thankies

Anonymousi one tapped godfree (bolt of them) with takers flame (its ash of war)

AnonymousI really don't get the hype. Is the weapon good? Very. Does it invalidate the whole game the way the Zweihander and Claymore did in Dark Souls 1? Not even close. I don't even think I'd say this is as good as Exile Curved GS in 3, or powerstance Clubs in 2. All of these mind you are available practically at the beginning of the game, while Blasphemous Blade requires you to do a late game dungeon at a very low level if you want it early.
Hell it's not even the most overpowered weapon in Elden Ring, Rivers of Blood, Star Fist (available very early, just grab the Dectus keys!), and even some jump L1 dual wield setups are better.
Anonymous
AnonymousTalisman of the Dread, Fire Scorpion, Shard of Alexander... What goes in the fourth slot? Currently I have Carian Filigreed equipped to squeeze out one more Taker's Flames per flask. Is there a better option?

Anonymousif we had more healing/lifesteal weapons, and then people would probably be complaining about this 70% less, i feel like it just gets overused and overhated because it's one of the only members of said lifesteal weapons in this game

Anonymousthe average souls chud who get mad at blasphemous blade users are just salty that their achievement is invalidated by casual players, and probably the only achievement they will have in life

Anonymousonly brain dead players use blasphemous blade.
This blade is a joke by the devs to make woke players capable of playing the game.
Anonymous
AnonymousI use this to pass the whole level without the need to use any flasks. Then I use Mimic tear and sit back watching it 1vs1 first try some boss that you elitist cucks wasted hours dying over and over again. Elden Ring is such an ez game

Anonymousalways funny when a brain dead L2 spammer uses this during my invasions and they dont realize it leaves them open for the most free backstab ever when they use it in spear range, or how easy it is to strafe it at range. honestly lost count of how many of them tried using it while out of fp LOL

AnonymousI never touched this until my 5th playthrough and decided to see what's so good about this
Sure, this is good, but this feels less interactive to the game, as the best part of this is the aow
Strong, but less fun to play
Anonymous
Anonymousbut they nerfed the envoys longhorn. the bubble blowing staff gets nerfed. like dawg, if fromsoft wanted a balanced PvE experience i think maybe the BUBBLES weren't a good place to start.

AnonymousDaily reminder: you didn't beat the game unless you hit a speedrun world record, RL0, no summons, Weathered Shortsword only, no armor hitless, no melina, no dodging, no walking. Oh and you can't use a controller. Or screen. Or a console, you actually have to beat it in real like. Actually, no you can't beat it unless I say so.

AnonymousFrom software said you beat the game, so you did. Simple as.

AnonymousAs someone who has never used this weapon, and beat every single boss solo, melee only: If you genuinely care about how other people play and enjoy a game, it's because beating a video game is the most you have, and probably will, ever acomplished in your life.

AnonymousBosses can jump off walls and aoe the whole arena repeatedly but I didn't beat the game if I have a decent aow that takes minutes to charge

Fellow Kevins,
Have you ever been in that situation where that pesky invader keeps dodging your ash of war? My brothers, I have the solution- powerstance you epic blasphemous blade with the inseperable sword- another STR/FAI greatsword with a little less power- but holds greater viability in pvp. This way- you can still use your epic ash of war and as a bonus you get the powerstanced greatsword move set- thats even more stance damage. An in that senario where you get invaded- No worries! Just two hand the inseperable sword for the banished knight sword's moveset- this way you can preserve fp while still having access to a weapon buff: sacred blade.
Goodluck little kevin ~
AnonymousI'm a souls vet and have been playing since Demon's Souls. If you used this weapon yes you did beat the game. Have a good day friends :D

AnonymousWhat set should I use with this? I cant find anything that goes with it.

AnonymousThumbs up for me.
Thumbs down for The person below and above
AnonymousI like to l2 on haligtree and destroy newbs using this sword .
Only skilled players use blasphemous blade on pvp
Anonymous
AnonymousIt's always funny when people triple gank you, all three using this monster and then they teabag you for losing. It's like taunting someone for not being able to breathe in outer space.

Anonymousop plz nerf.......killed radun to fast wiht this crap..i used zeihander and it was to easy..now this too ****!!! .i want my fight back !!! frick this game........

Why so much hype around this thing? Yeah it's good for farming albinaurics (until you get Sacred Relic Sword) and even may be for some bosses, but I'd never fought Messmer or Consort Radahn with it. Big damage numbers are not everything you need in the game.

AnonymousI wonder how many less players would have beat the game if this weapon was never added

AnonymousI carried it through the whole game and DLC, and it carried me.

AnonymousThis weapon seems very strong, I wonder why more people don't use it

AnonymousWhy are so many people having problems with the meat that’s all over the blade, I personally find them really cool

AnonymousI know people hate on this thing, but sometimes you just wanna get the annoying finger creepers out of your face.

My mom asked me if I did the dishes.
I said in response, "Blasphemous Blade."
She clenched her fist in rage and beat me.
She knew they were not washed.
AnonymousWho cares if you dont use this blade?
Game still hard even if you use it
Anonymousuntainted version with interchangeable ash of war would have been so sick. crossing fingers for it in elden ring: tarnished super deluxe edition

AnonymousDo you remember when we needed true skills to beat a souls game like ds2?
I miss those days man...
Nowdays anyone can beat a souls game using this
Anonymous
AnonymousThis weapon is really good, use the skill without the lock-on to get roll catches in pvp.

AnonymousThey should add this in the next game, except reverse the healing effect so each use of the skill causes the user harm, just to see how many braindead tourists mindlessly spam themselves to death via muscle memory.

AnonymousI have become Torquemadder, destroyer of Fingercreepers. Seriously, that was a -very- therapeutic couple of hours ... never thought I'd experience such relief & dare I say elation in a Fromsoft game!

AnonymousThis weapon looks cool, but in my opinion it would look better without the red stuff all over. Just look at the painting of Rykard behind Tanith

Anonymous
Anonymous“... the entire group of people broke into a deep, slow rhythmical chant of 'B-B!...B-B!...B-B!' over and over again, very slowly with a long pause between the first 'B' and the second - a heavy, murmurous sound, somehow curiously savage, in the background of which one seemed to hear the stamp of naked feet and the throbbing of tom-toms. For perhaps thirty seconds they kept it up. It was a refrain that was often heard in moments of overwhelming emotion."

AnonymousThough elden ring has no shortage of broken weapons, this is by far the most noob friendly. Frankly anyone looking to actually learn the game (whether it be pve or pvp) should avoid this like the plague because it teachs terrible habits.
The health regen is insane and makes transversing dungeons a breeze. The damage output is insanely cracked and can be buffed in a million different ways. The ash of war has a lot of range and even hyper armour. Weapons like the Star Fist can also be broken but they require to use to actually know a thing or two about the game. This sword doesn't. You can shamelessly hit trade with every boss and win.
Anonymousgetting this weapon was truly a hunt... You could even say a wild hunt

Anonymouseasy-mode sword, good for CO OP on any build for get free hp from mobs and didn't use flasks
a lot of damage from AOW(spam2win included in PvE)
10/10, but i think "clear" version of this sword looks better

I know technically almost any weapon can be considered "game-breaking" as long as you build fornit, but I genuinely think this weapon is game-breaking because of how much it has going for it.
>Fire Damage that slaps even fire-resistant enemies
>Heal on kill passive
>Taker's Flames heals on hit and hits HARD
>Skill damage can be boosted by 3 different Talismans, which include's Talisman of the Dread
>Doesn't require *that* many stats considering where you get it in the game, especially if you're a Faith build
>Scales decently with Faith
Only real downside is that FP cost, but that's what the Carian Filigreed Crest is for, and by putting a bit more stats into Dex, you can powerstance it with Sword of Milos for the FP gain on kills passive.
Seriously, this weapon is just so cracked that even after all the patches, nerfs, and DLC additions, it's still one of THE best weapons in the entire game!
