Bestial Incantations info
Obtaining Bestial Incantations
- Most Bestial Incantations can be acquired from Gurranq, Beast Clergyman. This NPC can be found at the Bestial Sanctum in Caelid.
- You must bring Deathroot to Gurranq, Beast Clergyman in order to make the trade, he doesn't accept
Runes as normal merchants do.
- Instead of choosing what you want to receive, he provides you a different reward for each Deathroot given.
- Bestial Constitution: Dropped by a Teardrop Scarab along the cliffside to the northeast of the Minor Erdtree in Dragonbarrow.
Bestial Incantation Requirements
- As is the case with all Incantations, you must have a catalyst equipped in order to be able to cast Bestial Incantations.
- Bestial Incantations require Faith to use.
Boosting Bestial Incantations
- Clawmark Seal boosts Bestial Sling, Beast Claw, Stone of Gurranq, and Gurranq's Beast Claw by 10%
- The Cinquedea dagger boosts Bestial Sling, Beast Claw, Stone of Gurranq, and Gurranq's Beast Claw by 10%
- Radagon Icon shortens spell casting time, allowing you to cast more quickly.
- Blue Dancer Charm boosts the damage of Bestial Incantations depending on carry weight.
- Bestial Incantations deal huge Stance damage and can easily stagger even large enemies when buffed by the Stonebarb Cracked Tear (+30% Stance damage).

Anonymous"You call throwing rocks an incantation?"
"Hey, as long as it works."
AnonymousNo matter what you say, I still think that "beast communion" should be a part of beast incants.

Anonymouselden ring has 20 types of sorceries and i dont know why
naybahood jaybird out...still cant beat the game 12/30/2024...nayyybberr

AnonymousThese are some of the most consistent and useful Incantations in Elden Ring. Bestial Vitality is cheap health regeneration, Bestial Sling is a cheap and spammable wave of projectiles which makes it good for catching rolls, Stone of Gurranq will true combo into Beast Claw at max casting speed and is also just a solid long ranged projectile when free aimed, Gurranq's Beast Claw is a good wakeup after a backstab so it works well with the CInquedea as it has Quickstep which makes it easy to backstab with.

AnonymousIf roar of rugalea is beast but doesn't benefit from beast boosts than Placidusax's Ruin is a dragon communion.
Look, debate me all you want the proof is literally right here on screen.
AnonymousShould note that you can use Flame Grant me Strength with these to take advantage of the rare physical damage buff and avoid having to farm Arteria Leaves for Exalted Flesh.

AnonymousEven though this is listed in the bestial Incatations section Roar of Rugalea is not effected by the Cinquedea. On the generic Beastmen of Faram Im geting a full charge doing 1020 with the Cinquedea, and 1020 with the sword lance (also using Clawmark +25, Pelt of Ralva, Faithful's Canvas Talisman, Roar Medallion, Godfrey Icon 83 str 50 Faith). So either this is broken in patch 1.12.3 or it isnt actually a beastial incantation, the description says it is "more akin to an invocation of the hornsent" And if im using the Spiral Tree Seal I get 688 if the Clawmark is in my off hand or not.

Anonymous"And Clergyman Gurranq raised the claw mark seal up on high, saying, 'O Marika, bless this thy rock, that with it thou mayst smash thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy.' And Marika did grin. And the people did feast upon the lightning rams, and deer, and land octopi, and boiled prawn, and turtle neck meat, and rowa fruit, and Springhare, and giant crabs..."

AnonymousI'll include some notes on each incantation below but there is one major issue with these. They are meant for Strength builds and to be used with Clawmark Seal. But, Clawmark Seal will only provide decent scaling unless you have 30 fth. The primary value these incants have is that they would be most useful to Str builds that have low Fth as they all have low Fth requirements. But, unless you invest in Fth the damage output would be pitiful compared to your bonking tool. Hence rendering them highly ineffective to a pure Str build which is ironic because the whole idea of a Str build is battering your foes to death, not tickling them with pebbles and sand.
I had most success on a Blue Dancer variation with 45 Str / 30 Fth. With maximum scaling they are usable but still on the weaker side. But they are actually usable!
BEAST CLAW: BAD: Slow to cast, weak, and must be fully charged to get decent range. GOOD: Fun to use. I like when it climbs up walls. Crowds of enemies hate it.
BESTIAL CONSTITUTION: Umm there a boluses for this that don't require you to hold a talisman and toggle your spells. It's useless.
BESTIAL SLING: BAD: Low range. Low damage. Stuns nothing in PvE but dogs. Birds will still hack you to death. GOOD: Fun to use as it blends very well into combat. Casts quick. Effective in PvE but very annoying to be used against.
BESTIAL VITALITY: BAD: HP Regen rate is slow. GOOD: Low FP cost. Overall good HP Regen. Low stat Requirements. There is little to no downside to using this.
GURRANQ'S BEAST CLAW: BAD: No Hyper Armor. Can't be charged. Stun power is weak. Damage is weak. Casts slow. Range is mediocre. GOOD: Useful if surrounded by weak enemies. Fun to use. Looks cool.
STONE OF GURRANQ: BAD: Casts slow. Doesn't track the enemy. Cannot move while casting. GOOD: Good FP to damage ratio with high scaling. Can be spammed for excellent stun power. Rocks have a surprisingly large blast radius. Dependable and effective ranged attack.
IN CONCLUSION: Overall disappointing class of incants. They are intended for High Str and low Fth builds. But, without at least 30 Fth your damage will be pitiful.
MY SUGGESTED BUILD: 45 Str. 30 Fth. Clawmark Seal. Blue Dancer. Radagon Icon. Spam Rocks and enjoy your Bestial Vitality.

AnonymousI call upon the power of Dwane "the rock" Johnson, and cast Hammer of Australopithecus!

AnonymousLets be real here claw mark is the strength Faith build the people in the souls fandom wanted and deserved thank you miyazaki

AnonymousRunning a 60 STR/16 FTH build around these. 16 FTH for FGMS since it buffs physical damage and gives you that sweet stamina regen for after chain-tossing your yeet boulders. I also use an Omen Cleaver w/ Vacuum slice for added mix-ups with the claw attacks.
10/10 favorite incant class
AnonymousThis page mentions clawmark seal boosting non-offensive spells yet vitality's page says it does not, and constitution mentions nothing about it, so what is the author meaning here?

I really wish they did holy and physical damage. Maybe 3/4 physical and 1/4 holy so we would still benefit from slapping on that holy cracked tear, since both weapons associated with bestial incantations and Maliketh do holy damage

I wish you could get clergyman's attack where he errupts the ground and sends rocks flying into the sky that then fall down as a incantation

Anonymous
AnonymousFaith overall: smite your foes with holy magics, scorching flames and the power of dragons!
Bestial incantations: big rocc go bonk, and pOcKeT SaND!
These spells are really things of beautiful simplicity.
AnonymousThey don’t really complement clerics too well. The damage is lack luster if you try to layer them with other spells and I bet sling will get nerfed. They complement strength builds very well though. Minimal faith investment with strength scaling seal so you can occasionally feel cool and mix things up. Bestial regen/constitution are handy. And the Boulder crash is a good ranged option to take back aggro if you’re in a group boss fight as tank. In pvp they make solid mix ups when layered with strength meta melee and ashes

Ok genuine question here even though they require faith to use, do they scale with faith since they're incantations, or do they scale with strength and/or dex due to them mainly dealing physical damage?

Anonymous
AnonymousI wonder if these incantations draw power from Outer God of Ancient Dragons and Beastmen?

AnonymousSeems like most people using these are pure str builds with just enough faith to utilize them. With that in mind, is it worth using the radagon icon and offhand azur’s to hit max cast speed while using these or no?

AnonymousI wish instead of the keen ash or weirdly dex-scaling greathammer, we got that upheaval spell Gurranq himself uses. Earthquake followed by a rain of boulders? Yes please. Hope to see more bestial stuff in DLC.

Anonymous
Anybody have any ideas for famous "werewomen"? I looked online and mainly found bit players. I started a character named Salma Hayek, but I think she only ever played a vampire.

AnonymousNot very shiny, but very efficient and practical. Perfect spells.

Anonymousdoes the clawmark seal work on the godskin incantations? the beast and godskin spells get categorized together in the chest so i was curious if the buff would work on them.

AnonymousAbsolutely love this spell class, really hope they add some more of these in a future DLC, though I know it's unlikely. Just such cool spells that feel great to use, even if they are very simple.

AnonymousBestial Incantation are boosted by the blue dancer charm
Dunno if it's usefull
AnonymousFinally they added another kind of elemental spells. I'm doing a Geomancer as my first character and it is pretty fun. I was bored of the same kind of spells in Dark Souls, always the same Fire-BlackFire/Lightning/Crystal-Arcane stuff. Being allowed to be a full Geomancer, Blood Mage, Cryomancer, Voidmancer or Dragon"priest" is refreshing.

Anonymoushonestly these shouldnt even cost faith, they should be pure strength scaling. they arent even magic, youre just slamming rocks at people which is god damn hilarious to think is a "spell" similar to studying demigod powers.

Anonymous
AnonymousCurrently doing a kind of "dirty" dex playthrough with whips, claws and daggers and this incantation is honestly what i've been missing for the longest time:
It may not be great compared to big weapons, but the posture dmg is respectalble (great, compared to what I'm using)
It fits the build idea
I'd simply call it a NO, pocketsand spell. Haha, I'm channeling the power of ancient drag... NO, pocketsand
I'm swinging my large weapon throung your low hyperar... NO, pocketsand
The requirements are as low as the castingtime and the payoff is as high as your creativity with it.
AnonymousDue to the low faith req should I pump strength and leave faith at 20 or 30? Or would the beast talisman be not as effective even if it scales with strength?

AnonymousSo, ive been testing bestial incantations in my latest build with Flame, Grant Me Strength and Golden Vow. It seems that this type of incantations is affected by Flame, Grant Me Strength and so can be stacked with Golden Vow. But there is an anomaly with Bestial Sling that if its buffed with those two incantations, the damage seems to be reduced instead of goes up. Idk what caused it, i just want to share this because i think its kinda neat.

AnonymousUnfortunately, bestial sling is the only useful incantation apart from bestial vitality in the early game.

Anonymous
AnonymousThese fixed a problem in the souls series where miracles didn’t feel very physical, it’s nice to have the option now for faith builds, great for variety

AnonymousThey just fixed the deathwall near Cinquedea! Praise the Ring!

Anonymous
AnonymousStone of Gurranq is rapidly becoming my favorite incantation
Range high damage absurd stagger and quick to cast
Friggin great all around

IDK why most death root is so late game, these incantation are cool!
