Remote pilotage is no longer a concept of the future. It's here! Today, I'm proud to share that Danelec and DanPilot - Danish State Pilotage are launching the world’s first test program for remote pilotage, approved by the Danish Emergency Management Agency. This is a big moment - not just for us as a company, but for the prospect of a smarter, safer, and more sustainable future of shipping.   For the first time, pilots can now guide ships from land using real-time data sent directly from vessels at sea. This kind of remote operation has huge potential to cut emissions, improve safety, and make maritime operations more efficient. And none of it would work without a secure, reliable tech platform — something we’ve built from the ground up with cybersecurity as a core focus.   A huge thank you to the teams at DanPilot and Danelec. This is what progress looks like - more to come very soon.

A lot of companies are eager to enter the defence industry right now. At DDAC 2026 I spoke to Alex Mathar and Anders Havelund Krøyer on the Danish podcast "Kampkraft" – "Combat Power" – a podcast about where defence and industry meet. They asked me to share some advice for companies looking to break in and here are a few things I keep coming back to: 💡It is important to have a potential customer involved early. Not as a buyer – as a partner. Someone who can validate that what the company is building solves a real problem that someone wants to pay for. 💡Make sure you have people on your team who genuinely know the domain. Technology for its own sake does not cut it in defence. It is the operational effect that matters. 💡The best solutions are not built in a lab. They are built with the people who will use them. We also talked about digital sovereignty, European defence collaboration, the importance of quality over speed and why “strategic patience” is a virtue in this industry. Yet again a leading robotics conference comes to Odense🚀 In 2027 yet another unique opportunity to showcase cutting-edge robotics innovation has landed in the City of Odense — this time around Syddansk Universitet - University of Southern Denmark, SDU Center for Large Structure Production and Odense Port. Yet again, another possibility to showcase what Denmark has to offer in the field of robotics. Even better, it focuses on a sector with huge untapped potential for automation and robotics: construction!👷‍♀️🏠🛳️ The conference is International Symposium on Automation and Robotics in Construction (ISARC) and is not only a significant event in the field of construction — it will also be a catalyst for further investment, international exposure, and new collaborations across industry and research in Denmark and abroad. Why City of Odense? “Odense has developed into one of Europe’s most prominent hubs for robotics. With strong research environments and close ties to industry, the city is an obvious choice for gathering the world’s elite in construction robotics. Great experience at DALO Days in Denmark last week. It was great to see the strong interest in software and AI solutions — especially for applications in logistics and operations, alongside the more traditional hardware focus. I was glad to join Lyngsoe Systems at their booth, where we had many engaging conversations about how technology can make a real difference in defence logistics and operations. Partnerships like this are where innovation becomes tangible. A theme that came up repeatedly was sovereignty — across software, AI models, data and hosting. Solita is taking a significant step forward in high-security drone flight control and autonomous systems for critical infrastructure across Europe. By entering into a strategic partnership with VentureOne, and building on our long-term collaboration with the Technology Innovation Institute, we’re now able to bring high-security flight control, swarm management and mission computing systems, as well as mesh networking technologies for drones, into broader real-world use. This marks the first public announcement of work that has been underway for several years. This collaboration strengthens our capability to deliver secure, autonomous solutions that can benefit customers across multiple domains, including Metals & Mining, Pulp & Paper, Energy & Utilities, Maritime, Shipyards & Offshore, and Defence & Security. Potential use cases range from critical infrastructure monitoring to safety, security and resilience-focused operations. The partnership builds on strong institutional cooperation, supported by Business Finland, and was further reinforced during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Finland, Alexander Stubb, to the United Arab Emirates in November.
