  • NTU Supports Post-Crash Rescue Training to Strengthen Emergency Response in Ethiopia Road traffic accidents remain a major public health challenge in Ethiopia. Too often, lives are lost not only because of the crash itself, but because help does not arrive fast enough or responders lack the tools and training needed during the critical “golden hour.” From 17–20 February 2026, a Post-Crash Rescue Training was delivered in Adama, bringing together police officers, health professionals and emergency responders. Over several days, participants strengthened both their knowledge and hands-on skills—from scene safety and victim stabilisation to safe extrication techniques and coordination with emergency medical services. Through practical exercises and real-life scenarios, the training focused on what matters most: equipping first responders with the confidence and skills to act quickly and effectively when every second counts. Initiatives like this help strengthen Ethiopia’s post-crash care system and contribute to safer roads and stronger emergency response capacities. #RoadSafety #PostCrashCare #CapacityBuilding

  • From dialogue to implementation: European Ocean Days 2026 At NTU International A/S, we are closely following the discussions and outcomes of 2-6 March European Ocean Days 2026, which bring together policymakers, experts and stakeholders to shape the future of Europe’s ocean governance and sustainable blue economy. The insights emerging from this important forum—on maritime governance, skills, sustainability and international cooperation—strongly resonate with the work we are implementing across our maritime portfolio. A key example is our EU-funded Seafarers Technical Assistance project in the Philippines, implemented under the EU-ASEAN Sustainable Connectivity Package (SCOPE). Through this initiative, NTU International and its partners support improvements in maritime education and training, certification systems, and compliance with international conventions such as STCW and the Maritime Labour Convention. NTU International attended a panel discussion on “Empowering Blue Competitiveness: How EU instruments drive innovation and growth in the blue economy” as part of the European Ocean Days. The discussion brought together representatives from the European Commission, investment institutions, industry and innovation ecosystems. A few key takeaways stood out. 🌊 The ocean economy is already a major global sector, accounting for around 3-4% of global GDP and supporting more than 120 million jobs worldwide. 📈 While the sector has grown steadily, much of this growth has been driven by increased capital investment rather than efficiency gains, highlighting the importance of boosting productivity, innovation and digitalisation in the coming years. 🌍 Growth in the blue economy has been geographically uneven, with Asia-Pacific driving most of the expansion, while Europe maintains strong leadership in high-value maritime industries, such as advanced shipbuilding and maritime technologies. 🚀 A recurring theme across the panel was the “scale-up gap” in Europe. While the region produces strong research, startups and innovative solutions, many companies struggle to access the risk capital and market scale needed to grow globally. 💡 Participants emphasised that the future competitiveness of the blue economy will depend on: • accelerating decarbonisation and energy transition • scaling up digital and ocean technologies • improving access to finance and investment • strengthening public-private collaboration and innovation ecosystems The overall message was clear: Europe has the knowledge, technology and talent to lead in the blue economy, but unlocking its full potential will require better alignment of policy, funding and industry collaboration. At NTU International, we are pleased to engage in these discussions and continue contributing to initiatives that support sustainable and competitive blue economy development worldwide. #BlueEconomy #OceanInnovation #EUCompetitiveness #Maritime #Sustainability #NTUInternational

  • Advancing EU #GlobalGateway Visibility in Zambia: Showcasing Impact Through Strategic Storytelling Building on our ongoing support to the European Investment Bank under the #TeamEurope approach, NTU International A/S continues to strengthen the visibility of Global Gateway investments in Zambia - translating financing into compelling, human-centred stories of impact. As part of our November field mission under the Zambia Agriculture Value Chain Facility (ZAVCF), our team produced three beneficiary videos that highlight how EU and EIB-backed financing is driving sustainable agricultural transformation and private sector growth - core priorities of the Global Gateway strategy. 🎥 Featured beneficiaries: • Galaunia Farms • Amadeus Farm (Kabwe) • Matuka Farm (Mkushi) Across several filming days, NTU documented how access to capital and technical assistance — delivered through EU, EIB and ZANACO cooperation - is enabling farms to modernise operations, expand production, and strengthen value chains. At Galaunia Farms, filming coincided with the EIB Vice-President’s official visit, allowing us to capture high-level engagement alongside beneficiary testimony - reinforcing the direct link between Global Gateway priorities and tangible results. At Amadeus and Matuka Farms, interviews with owners, managers, and financial partners provided insight into how blended finance mechanisms support resilience, productivity, and long-term sustainability in Zambia’s agricultural sector. In parallel, NTU covered the Vice-President’s visit to the National Milling Company, illustrating how Global Gateway investments strengthen agri-processing, food security, and private sector development. 🎬 Expanding the Global Gateway Narrative NTU also produced a 5-minute documentary featuring the EU Ambassador to Zambia and the Head of the EIB Regional Hub for Southern Africa. The film outlines how the EIB, as the EU’s bank, mobilises capital and technical assistance to advance sustainable development aligned with Global Gateway priorities. The beneficiary videos and documentary are in final approval and will support a structured media campaign running March–May. To maximise outreach, NTU has organised a dedicated media briefing with key Zambian partners. The dissemination plan spans TV, radio, print, interviews, and digital platforms - ensuring Global Gateway investments are not only implemented, but clearly understood by the public. Through strategic communication, field storytelling, and coordinated media engagement, NTU continues supporting the EU and EIB in making Global Gateway investments visible, credible, and recognised for the opportunities they create for Zambia’s economy and communities. #GlobalGateway #TeamEurope #EIB #EU #Zambia #Agriculture #AfricaEurope
