Meta must pay up to $16.68 billion and change its apps to settle a major child-safety lawsuit brought by U.S. states. Artur Olesch hat dies geteiltSouth Korea. An AI bot calls seniors daily, asks about their well-being, and reminds them to take their medicines and exercise. The AI system analyzes their answers and other biomarkers, like speech tone. In emergencies, a social worker steps in. Similar systems have been tested in Madrid and Finland. The Korean system already saved a life. And seniors are happy when someone calls in the old-fashioned way they are used to. Is such a 2-5 minute conversation a new way to fight the loneliness pandemic and an easily scalable early prevention measure? He said, "No." “AI is great, but the quality of the research right now is going to be interesting primarily to AI researchers, not to practicing physicians. I don’t think the time is right," he argued. 3,5 years ago, he was asked again. And he said "Yes." “Maybe now is the right time.” My 1-hour interview with Prof. Kohane taught me a lot about where AI in medicine is going. It proposes a two-axis risk-assessment framework and a premarket evaluation model that combines non-clinical benchmarking with clinical confirmation, followed by risk-proportionate postmarket monitoring Feedback can be submitted until October 19, 2026. ⬇️

Launched on August 18th, the new "Study Mode" guides teens with step-by-step scaffolding, metacognitive prompts, and knowledge checks to encourage active problem-solving. What's in? + No quick answers, but step-by-step explanations and guiding questions. + Homework reminders detect attempts to shortcut assignments. + Quizzes and learning visualizations to test knowledge and understand difficult concepts. + Parental controls with study hours, quiet hours, and safety notifications in high-risk situations. A move in the direction that teachers, parents, and psychologists have been asking about since 2022.

Artur Olesch hat dies geteiltMayo Clinic has deployed around 150 AI models, according to Matthew Callstrom, M.D., Ph.D., a radiologist and medical director of Mayo Clinic’s generative AI program. But what are they actually doing? Read my latest article for ICT&health Global (link it the comment). Just a few examples. Record Time can save physicians 5–30 minutes per appointment by organizing fragmented medical records. AI-ECG helps identify patients with cardiac amyloidosis, REDMOD identifies signs of pancreatic cancer up to 16 months before diagnosis. Other applications analyze 22.6 million pathology images, support earlier palliative-care referrals, predict sepsis and hospitalization, assist emergency-department triage, and explore genomic medicine. For patient safety, Mayo has developed an internal AI governance strategy. 150 AI models need a solid database infrastructure. Mayo uses cloud solutions and high-performance computing infrastructure based on NVIDIA processors. And of course the Mayo Clinic Platform_Connect - a federated health data network that enables organizations to develop, test, and validate algorithms

Early results from the Utah Department of Commerce pilot with Doctronic show physicians agreed with the AI’s renewal decisions in 91% of cases, rising to 97% after second review. The system covers 192 medicines for chronic conditions and referred 28% of cases for additional clinical assessment. No AI-related safety incidents have been reported so far. W pierwszym odcinku rozmawiam z Generałem Rajmund T Andrzejczak, ale z naszej rozmowy dowiecie się nie tylko o tym, jak AI jest wykorzystywana dzisiaj w konfliktach zbrojnych, ale także, jak może wyglądać wojna przyszłości oraz jak wojna hybrydowa ma się do starcia kinetycznego. Es geht von der Bundesstiftung zur Bundesaufsicht. Nachdem ich über mehr als ein Dutzend Jahre die Stiftung Datenschutz aufbauen und leiten durfte, war für mich die Zeit für Neues gekommen. Nicht etwa, weil ich kein Fan der Stiftung mehr wäre – das werde ich bleiben! ❤️ Sondern weil es ab und an eines Perspektivwechsels bedarf. Und es bot sich mir mit der Übernahme der Leitung einer noch jungen Abteilung bei der Bundesbeauftragten für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit eine großartige Chance: Ab heute darf ich in der Exekutive mithelfen, den #Datenschutz konkret voranzubringen. Auf die Arbeit für Louisa Specht-Riemenschneider und ab dem Herbst für Moritz Hennemann freue ich mich überaus. Die Abteilung umfasst hochaktuelle Themen, so die – derzeit leider politisch unter Beschuss stehende – #Informationsfreiheit, das #Regulab – unsere regulatory sandbox, das #TechLab zur Begleitung datenschutzkonformer Technologieentwicklung, die Telekommunikation – mit VDS und TDDDG - und den Umgang mit Beschwerden an die #Datenschutzaufsicht. Es gibt so viel zu tun... – ich freu‘ mich drauf. Auf ein baldiges Wiedersehen mit dem #TeamDatenschutz und auf viele gute Gespräche – meine Abteilung heißt denn auch „Dialog“ 😉

Narzędzie ułatwia korzystanie z wiedzy zawartej w podręczniku i pozwala szybciej docierać do potrzebnych informacji. Asystent jest już gotowy do korzystania i dostępny bezpłatnie. Nauczyciele mogą zadawać pytania w naturalnym języku, a narzędzie wyszukuje odpowiedzi na podstawie treści podręcznika UMW. Odpowiedzi są tworzone w oparciu o tę konkretną publikację, a użytkownik może wrócić do materiału źródłowego i sprawdzić szerszy kontekst. Dzięki temu Asystent skraca drogę do informacji potrzebnej podczas przygotowywania zajęć lub pracy z uczniami.
