What are Inner Skills in Crimson Desert?

Inner Skills are additional abilities you can acquire by upgrading or enhancing a skill to a certain level. These skills can provide the main skill with an upgraded effect or grant you a new effect altogether. Each Inner Skill will have its own corresponding skill level requirement. For example, Kliff's Stab is a skill you can enhance or upgrade three times. Upgrading it to Lv 2 will grant you the Inner Skill Skewering Stab and the Swift Stab Skill. Further enhancing the Stab Skill to Lv 3 will grant you the Inner Skill Aerial Stab and Stab Rend Armor, which lets your Stab attacks ignore Super Armor. Additionaly, it's important to consider that not all Skills will have their own Inner Skills. Some Skills will only be a standalone Skill.

Stamina, Health, and Spirit in Crimson Desert

There are three Primary Skills you can upgrade in Crimson Desert. Stamina, Health, and Spirit. Stamina, represented by the color blue, improves the energy consumed when performing actions such as dodging or moving. Health, represented in red, lessens the damage taken during combat, and Spirit, represented by the color green, enhances the power consumed to execute skills and special actions. It's important to consider that each primary Skill can be upgraded multiple times. Stamina (Blue) can be upgraded up to Lv 14, Health (Red) can be upgraded up to Lv 18, and Spirit (Green) can be enhanced up to Lv 12. Additionally, the Primary Skills are not tied to a single character. Switching to another character will retain the same level for the Primary Skills.

How to Unlock Skills in Crimson Desert?

There are multiple ways to unlock and upgrade skills. Some skills may be learned through exploration or learned from enemies during combat. This mechanic is called "Watch and Learn" where players will need to purposefully observe the enemy's attacks to fill a learning progress bar to learn a skill permanently. Players will also be able to learn and upgrade skills by using Abyss Artifacts found throughout Crimson Desert. Abyss Artifacts are your main resource for upgrading. They can be earned by defeating enemies, through exploration, quest progression, defeating bosses, and solving the Abyss Puzzles throughout. Players will also encounter Skills which can be learned both by using an Abyss Artifact or by observation. We recommend learning the Skill through observation to save up on the Skills that require an Abyss Artifact to unlock.

Watch and Learn in Crimson Desert

Watch and Learn is a mechanic in Crimson Desert where players can observe the attacks used by enemies during combat or exploration. This allows you to observe the skill and acquire it as your own. This mechanic becomes apparent during an enemy's attack, where you'll notice that the screen turns into a shade of blue and a "Learning in Progress" indicator appears on the upper left side of the screen. This can also trigger outside of combat by observing NPCs perform their move. Moreover, some skills will require you to observe them more than once to fill the progress bar. Once completed, a tutorial will pop up showing how to use the Skill. Keep in mind that not all enemy attacks can be learned. Some Skills can only be learned by a certain character. Additionally, getting attacked by enemies while observing a Skill will interrupt the progress. Players will need to successfully observe the Skill to acquire it.

How to Respec Skills in Crimson Desert

Players can Respec Skills in Crimson Desert by using a Faded Abyss Artifact. These artifacts allow you to reset your skill tree, reclaiming all of the Abyss Artifacts previously invested. Once acquired, players will be able to see the number of Faded Abyss Artifacts they have on the Skills Menu at the upper right section of the screen. This mechanic ensures that players will not be locked into a single build and can fully explore and experiment with different playstyles.
