Crimson Desert Myurdin Boss Guide

Myurdin Fight Strategy

You will first encounter Myurdin during the intro scene of Crimson Desert, where your camp situated near Nas River has been burned down by the Black Bear Forces. Here, you will have a glimpse of the past, on how the Greymanes ended up being scattered across Pywel. Though this fight with Myurdin will never end in a win, as the storyline meant it to be that way, you will learn a few basics of combat in this scene.

This is where the pattern of offensive moves for most bosses is showcased. Here, you will first encounter how primary attacks work, how to deal with heavy attacks, and why knowing about knockdown and blocking is very important for your battle strategy, not only with bosses but also with every combat that you will be in-game.

With Myurdin's Slash and Stab primary attack, you can block this with your shield to interrupt the attack, and then follow through with a swift counterattack to inflict damage to Myurdin. For the Charge and Slam attack, this is considered his heavy attack that has a chance of knocking you down. It is recommended for you to evade this heavy attack and re-engage only after Myurdin is done with this offensive move. You can launch a counterattack after, giving you enough chance to inflict damage.

You will also be fighting your way through the barbarians of Myurdin on this boss fight. This shows you the possibility that some bosses in-game can have minions that will be fighting alongside them. A great example of this would be the Hexe Marie boss, which you will encounter later on in the game. Though this mechanic is uncommon, as most bosses will be a solo fight, and they will have a huge amount of health pool and unique fighting techniques.

Overall, this boss battle is a great intro experience, and will surely help you create that unique combat strategy that you can use throughout the game.

Myurdin Attacks & Counters

Slash and Stab

Myurdin performs two slashes, followed by a sword stab. This is considered as his primary attack, and can be blocked with your shield. You can also launch a counterattack after blocking this offensive move to inflict damage to Myurdin.

Charge and Slam

Myurdin crouches and starts to charge at you like a bear, and then slams the ground upon impact with both his fists. This offensive move has a chance of knocking you down for about a second, which enables Myurdin and his barbarians to inflict more damage to you. It is recommended for you to evade it by doing a side step to either left or right, away from the direction where Myurdin is facing to avoid being hit by this charge attack. You can then dash forward and launch a counterattack after he is done with this offensive move, giving you enough chance to inflict damage to Myurdin.

Command Barbarians

Myurdin commands his barbarians to eliminate you. You will notice three types of barbarians that will fight you, which will be the Melee Barbarian, Superior Barbarian, and Ranged Barbarian. It is recommended to eliminate the Ranged Barbarian first as they would interrupt you in combat a lot while you are fighting the Melee Barbarians. After eliminating the Ranged Barbarians, focus on attacking the Superior Barbarian. They act as Myurdin's tough line of defense, and taking them down would help you get closer to Myurdin and inflict damage to him. Be careful, as they have a tough health pool and they inflict heavier damage than the common melee barbarians in the field. Last on your objective would be to clear the Melee Barbarians that will come on your way.

Spin and Slash

Myurdin charges forward, spinning, and then does a special overhead slash afterward. It is recommended for you to evade it by doing a side step to either left or right, away from the direction where Myurdin is facing to avoid being hit by this special attack. You can then dash forward and launch a counterattack after he is done with this offensive move, giving you enough chance to inflict damage to Myurdin.
