What is Crimson Desert?

Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure game set in the beautiful yet brutal continent of Pywel. Embark on a journey as the Greymane Kliff and restore what has been lost. Explore uncharted lands, fight against threats that stand in your way, and discover the wonders the world has in store.

A devastating ambush in the deep of night by their sworn enemies, the Black Bears, leaves members of the Greymanes dead or scattered across the continent. Kliff - having lost his Greymane comrades, his family in all but name - is determined to reunite with the survivors, rebuild the fallen Greymanes, and reclaim what was lost. But on a journey where alliances are forged, dangers abound, and mysterious factions are uncovered, Kliff will come to realize that an unprecedented threat and a destiny greater than he imagined await him.​

Crimson Desert Available Editions

For most platforms, you can purchase a Physical Standard Edition, a Physical Deluxe Edition, a Physical Collectors Edition, a digital Standard Edition and a Digital Deluxe Edition. For more details, please check our DLC page.

Crimson Desert Available Platforms

Crimson Desert is available on PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 5 pro, on Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox PC, on PC through Steam and Epic Games, and also on the Mac and GeForce NOW.

Crimson Desert Release Date

The first Trailer for Crimson Desert was revealed at Pearl Abyss Connect back in 2019 and is said to be released in the winter of 2021. However, it has been pushed back to late 2025 and is finally set for release on March 19, 2026. The game will launch simultaneously worldwide across all platforms on March 19, 15:00 PT/ March 19, 22:00 GMT/ March 20, 7:00 KST.

Players will be able to pre-load their game starting from March 17, 15:00 PT / March 17, 22:00 GMT / March 18, 7:00 KST, only for the PlayStation Sotre, Xbox Store, Microsoft Store and Steam.

Upgrading Standard Edition to Deluxe or Collector's Edition for Crimson Desert

As long as you own the full game, you will be able to make a separate purchase after the full game launches on March 19. However, the Ultimate Pack that is in the Collector's Edition will not be available for separate purchase.

Differences Between Digital and Physical Versions of Crimson Desert

There are no differences in the game content. The only difference is the physical goods you can acquire vs the digital add-ons you can obtain. For more information, please check our DLC page.

Is there Co-op for Crimson Desert?

Unlike Pearl Abyss' previous game, Black Desert, Crimson Desert is not an MMORPG and is not a multiplayer game. Though due to the open-world aspect of the game and the extensive storyline, players will be able to play as 2 other characters apart from the main protagonist, Kliff.

Can I Play Crimson Desert Offline?

Players will need to be connected to the internet to complete the initial patch setup to ensure that they are playing and enjoying the latest version of the game. Afterwards, the game can be enjoyed offline. Additionally, Future patches will require an internet connection to complete.

What Languages is Crimson Desert Available In?

The game has the following languages that can be set in for the game's interface and subtitles: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain & Latin America), Japanese, Korean, Polish, Russian, Simplified & Traditional Chinese, Portuguese (Brazil), and Turkish. Full voice-overs are available in English, Korean, and Simplified Chinese.

However, the physical editions that are purchased outside of Asia do not support Simplified or Traditional Chinese.

Performance-Enhancing Technology in Crimson Desert

Crimson Desert supports FSR 3/4 and DLSS 4/4.5 on PC, Upgraded PSSR for PS5 Pro, and FSR 3 for the PS5 base model and Xbox Series X|S. It will also feature support for AMD FSR Ray Regeneration and NVIDIA DLSS Ray Reconstruction on the PC Version.

However, frame generation (FSR, DLSS and MetalFX) is only supported on PC/Mac. Additionally, Crimson Desert supports MetalFX Upscaler, Frame Generation, and Denoiser on Mac.

Is There Cross-Save in Crimson Desert

Unfortunately, cross-save is not available for Crimson Desert.

What Controllers are Supported on the PC for Crimson Desert?

Xbox controllers and the DualSense controller can be used through USB connectiong to play Crimson Desert on the PC.
