Character Customization | Crimson Desert Wiki
Character Customization in Crimson Desert allows you to customize the appearance of the three playable characters: Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane at the Barber Shop tent and the Dyehouse in the Greymane Camp. Although they have their set facial and body features, you will be able to customize different aspects, such as their hair and facial hair, face and body tattoos, and finally outfit colors with the use of dyes for your Character's armor, Horse armor, and War Robot armor. Character Customization allows players to express their aesthetic on their characters beyond just swapping through different armor sets, however, customization does not affect the gameplay and combat whatsoever and is only for aesthetic purposes.
Crimson Desert Character Customization Guide
Barber Shop Customization Options
The Barber Shop tent can be found within the Greymane Camp. Here, you can choose from a few options to change your facial appearance. This includes your character's hair, beard eyebrows, face and body tattoos. Within these options, you can also choose the style and the color. To unlock the Barber Shop at the camp, you will need to complete the Faction Quest, The Greymanes' Cabin, and reunite with Morrow. He will then set up his barber tent and you will be able to change your characters appearances.
Hair
From the third Features Overview from the Crimson Desert Youtube Channel, Life in Pywel, It is revealed that Kliff will have 6 different options to choose from to change his hairstyle. There is a large palette of colors to choose from, including different shades.Beard
As there are two male characters that you can play as, Kliff and Oongka, you have the option to change the styles and colors of their beards. Though it was not seen in the video the beard options you will have. This section will be updated once more information is out.Eyebrows
You can choose to change the style of eyebrows for each of the 3 characters, including the colors of their eyebrows. Eyebrows can change the look of the character's face entirely, but this does not change or affect their stats or gameplay at all.Face Tattoos
From the Life in Pywel video, it can be seen that Oongka has 13 tattoo options to choose from. It may be possible that the other two playable characters will also have the same set of face tattoos to choose from.Body Tattoos
Although most armor in the game covers most of the skin for some characters, Oongka may be the best bet to show off the body tattoos as his armor is seen to show his upper torso and parts of his legs. Though there may be more armor options for the other two characters when the full game comes out.Dyehouse Customization Options
The Dyehouse can also be found at the Greymane Camp, ran by Oliver. At this tent, you can purchase dye and customize different aspects of your armor. This includes the material and color of your character's Armor and Weapon, your horse's armor, and lastly, your War Robots pieces. To unlock the Dyehouse at the camp, you will need to complete the Faction Quest, A rumor at the Inksworth Bindery, and reunite with Eric. He will then set up his dyehouse tent at the Camp, however, you will not have all the dyes unlocked. To unlock dyes, you can either purchase different bottles of dyes, craft them from flowers and insects, or simply find them by exploring Pywel.
Equipment
The equipment customization section is very thorough as you can choose which Armor and which Weapon you wish to customize. Additionally, you can select which part of the equipment piece you wish to customize. You can change the color or the material of the piece to give it a different look.Horse Armor
Similar to the character equipment customization section, you can choose which horse armor you wish to customize and which section of the armor piece you wish to change the color of, and also the material of. Each design will give the armor a different look. This will not affect your gameplay or change any combat stats.War Robot
Following the Equipment and Horse Armor customization system, you will also be able to change the different armor pieces, as well as change the color and the material of the individual sections of the pieces. This does not affect your combat while in the War Robot and only serves as an appearance change. How to Obtain Dye in Crimson Desert
Dye can be purchased from any Dyehouse Vendor by selecting their buy option instead of their dye option. Other methods involve crafting the dye or shade of dye or finding them through exploration. Dye bottles can often be found in homes, you will need to equip a mask to steal the bottle and make sure no surrounding NPCs see you commit this crime. Collecting insects and flowers will come in handy as you can use them to craft different shades of colors, you can either find recipes for dyes, or pay around with your materials by choosing the option to Improvise on the cauldron. How to Use Dye in Crimson Desert
Once you have the dye, you can visit the Dyehouse vendor and choose the dye option to dye any piece of equipment of your choosing. There are a total of 10 dye colors you can obtain, with a total of 110 shades to choose from. However, not all dye colors and shades will be unlocked, so you will need to obtain them by either purchasing the dye, or by crafting or finding them on your journey. Visit the dyehouse again to see the colors or shades you have unlocked.A dyehouse can easily be spotted in the outskirts of a town or village, colorful fabric can be found hanging outside their shop. However, you may also progress some Greymane faction quests and find a Greymane named Oliver, who will eventually join the camp and set up a dyehouse there.
